This review considers available evidence for mechanisms of conferred adaptive advantages in the face of specific infectious *** short,we explore a number of genetic conditions,which carry some benefits in adverse circumstances including exposure to infectious *** examples discussed are conditions known to result in resistance to a specific infectious disease,or have been proposed as being associated with resistance to various infectious *** infectious diseasedgenetic disorder pairings include malaria and hemoglobinopathies,cholera and cystic fibrosis,tuberculosis and Tay-Sachs disease,mycotic abortions and phenylketonuria,infection by enveloped viruses and disorders of glycosylation,infection by filoviruses and NiemannePick C1 disease,as well as rabies and myasthenia *** also discuss two genetic conditions that lead to infectious disease hypersusceptibility,although we did not cover the large number of immunologic defects leading to infectious disease *** of the resistance-associated pairings(malaria/hemogloginopathies,cholera/cystic fibrosis,tuberculosis/Tay-Sachs,and mycotic abortions/phenylketonuria)appear to be a result of selection pressures in geographic regions in which the specific infectious agent is *** other pairings do not appear to be based on selection pressure and instead may be ***,research investigating these relationships may lead to treatment options for the aforementioned diseases by exploiting established mechanisms between genetically affected cells and infectious *** may prove invaluable as a starting point for research in the case of diseases that currently have no reliably curative treatments,e.g.,HIV,rabies,and Ebola.

Climate change impacts are visible in Bangladesh which requires adoption of judicious crop management practices for sustainable agriculture. Crop simulation models are effective in this regard and can be used for optimizing water and nitrogen inputs for maximization of wheat yields. Two field studies were conducted at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) for evaluating the effect of increased temperature on wheat production under variable water and N rates, through the use of DSSAT v4.6 model. Thirty years historic weather data and BARI Gom-26 wheat-cultivar coefficients, as generated through use of GLUE of DSSAT model, were used for evaluating the impact of temperature rise with variable rates of irrigation water and nitrogen. The effects of four levels of nitrogen (0, 40, 80 and 120 kg ha-1) and four irrigation levels [0 (no irrigation), 1, 2 and 3] on wheat yield were evaluated under 0°C, 1°C, 2°C and 3°C rise in temperature. Simulation results indicated that wheat yield increased with increase in nitrogen application rate, but decreased with the temperature rise. Crop growing duration was reduced by about five days for each degree rise in temperature, irrespective of levels of irrigation water and nitrogen-rates. In general, there was yield reduction of 8.13, 16.77 and 24.97 % with increased temperature of 1°C, 2°C and 3°C, respectively, when compared with no temperature rise treatment. For interaction of temperature rise-N dose, the magnitude of yield decline under temperature rise was higher with increased dose of N. Agronomic N use efficiency at different N rates and temperature rise level were calculated. N use efficiency decreases with the increase in temperature rise and the highest (29.95 kg grain kg-1 N) was obtained from 40 kg N ha-1 treated plot with 0°C temperature rise i.e. existing atmospheric temperature. 白芥（Brassica alba）是黑斑病抗性的重要资源,能为印度芥菜型油菜转移该性状提供有价值的资源材料。遗憾的是,传统的方法不能成功获得种间杂种,而种间杂种对改良印度芥菜型油菜的黑斑病抗性至关重要。本研究通过体外培养来挽救种间杂种。将两个优良的芥菜型油菜栽培品种即Varuna和RH0345与白芥进行种间杂交,于授粉后20天取含有正在发育的种子的未成熟角果,经表面消毒后将正在发育的种子培养在经改良的Murashige and Skoog（1962）培养基中。然后将杂种幼苗培养在两种MS培养基中,一种不含生长调节剂而添加500mg/l酪蛋白水解物,另一种添加2.5mg/l激动素。结果发现两种培养基都非常适合挽救种间杂种,在培养中植株表现出双亲的形态特征。这些植株通过茎段培养保存,下一季节种植在田间进行鉴定,筛选对黑斑病抗性和其它农艺性状都好的杂种。

Assessing the Impacts of Climate Change on Crop Yields in Different Agro-climatic Zones of India

The study attempts to estimate and predict climate impact on crop yields using future temperature projections under two climate emissions scenarios of RCP 4.5 and 8.5 for three different time periods(2030s,2050s and 2080s)across Agro-climatic zones(ACZ)of *** the period 1966-2011,a significant rise was observed in both the annual mean maximum and minimum temperature across *** recorded an annual decline in Himalayan Regions and Gangetic Plains and a rise in Coastal Regions,Plateau&Hills and Western Dry *** results showed high heterogeneity in climate impact on kharif and rabi crop yields(with both negative and positive estimates)across *** was found that rainfall had a positive effect on most of crop yields,but was not sufficient enough to counterbalance the impact of *** in crop yield were more pronounced for higher emission scenario of RCP ***,it was evident that the relative impacts of climate change and the associated vulnerability vary by ACZs,hence comprehensive crop and region-specific adaptation measures should be emphasized that helps in enhancing resilience of agricultural system in short to medium term.

BACKGROUND Mesenchymal stromal cell(MSC)-based cellular therapy promotes type I collagen production,enhance mechanical strength of tissues,and enhance biology at the bone-tendon interface,which primarily explains their potential clinical utility in rotator cuff(RC)*** To analyze the efficacy and safety of cellular therapy utilizing MSCs in the management of RC tears from clinical studies available in the *** We conducted independent and duplicate electronic database searches including PubMed,Embase,Reference Citation Anallysis,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library in August 2021 for studies analyzing the efficacy and safety of cellular therapy(CT)utilizing MSCs in the management of RC *** Analog Score(VAS)score for pain,American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons(ASES)score,Disability of the Arm,Shoulder,and Hand score,Constant score,radiological assessment of healing,and complications such as retear rate and adverse events were the outcomes *** was performed in R-platform using OpenMeta[Analyst]*** Six studies involving 238 patients were included for *** noted a significant reduction in VAS score for pain at 3 mo(weighed mean difference[WMD]=-2.234,P<0.001)and 6 mo(WMD=-3.078,P<0.001)with the use of CT,which was not maintained at long-term follow-up(WMD=-0.749,P=0.544).Concerning functional outcomes,utilization of CT produced a significant shortterm improvement in the ASES score(WMD=17.090,P<0.001)and significant benefit in functional scores such as Constant score(WMD=0.833,P=0.760)at long-term ***,we also observed significantly improved radiological tendon healing during the longterm follow-up(odds ratio[OR]=3.252,P=0.059).We also noted a significant reduction in the retear rate upon utilization of CT in RC tears both at short-(OR=0.079,P=0.032)and long-term(OR=0.434,P=0.027)*** did not observe any significant increase in the adverse events directly related to cellular therapy,as comp

Maize is an emerging important crop in Bangladesh because of its high yield potential and economic profitability compared to rice and wheat crops. There is a need to understand the growth and yield behavior of this crop in varying production environments of Bangladesh. Crop model such as Decision Support System For Agro-technology Transfer (DSSAT) version 4.6 (DSSAT hereafter) can be utilized cost effectively to study the performances of maize under different production environments. It needs to calibrate and validate DSSAT model for commonly cultivated maize cultivars in Bangladesh and subsequently take the model to various applications, including inputs and agronomic management options and climate change that impacts analyses. So, the present study was undertaken to firstly calibrate DSSAT model for popular four hybrid maize cultivars (BARI Hybrid Maize-7, BARI Hybrid Maize-9, Pioneer 30B07 and NK-40). Subsequently, it proceeded with the validation with independent field data sets for evaluating their growth performances. The genetic coefficients for these cultivars were evaluated by using Genotype coefficient calculator (GENCALC) and Generalized likelihood uncertainty estimation (GLUE) module of DSSAT on the basis of first season experiment. The performance of the model was satisfactory and within the significant limits. After calibration, the model was tested for its performance through validation procedure by using second season data. The model performed satisfactorily through phenology, biomass, leaf area index (LAI) and grain yield. Phenology, as estimated through days to flower initiation and maturity, was in good agreement, although simulated results were slightly over predicted compared to observed values but within the statistical significance limit...when compared with observed values at specific growth stages of the crop.
