The associative properties of methoxy (CH3O-) ended E58b.1 and hydroxyl (-OH) ended E56b.9 oxyethylene-oxyb.ty- lene dib.ock copolymers in aqueous solution at different temperature are reported in this paper. For b.th copolymers, E represents an oxyethylene (-[CH2CH2O]-) unit and b.an oxyb.tylene (-[CH(C2H5)CH2O]-) unit while the sub.cripts denote the numb.r average b.ock length. Surface tension measurements were used to find out surface excess concentrations (Γm), area per molecule (αs1 ) at air/water interface and Gib.s free energy for adsorption (△G0ads ) for the pre-micellar region at four temperatures. Likewise thermodynamic parameters of micellization such as, critical micelle concentrations (CMC), enthalpy of micellization (△H0mic ), standard free energy of micellization (△G0mic) and entropy of micellization (△S0mic ), were also ob.ained using surface tension measurements. Solution densities were used to deter-mine the partial specific volume of micelle ( Vmic) and micellar density (ρmic). Dilute solution viscosities have b.en used to estimate the intrinsic viscosities [η], solute-solvent interaction parameter (KH) and hydration value of micelle (Wh) at various temperatures. The effect of temperature on the micelle properties is also discussed.

Alternate two different modes of actions of green chemicals： spinosad ＆ methoxyfenozide to comb.t the lesser date moth, b.trachedra amydraula and the Almond moth, Cadra cautella Walk on dates in Dakhla Oasis, New Valley, Egypt were done in 2010 and 201 I. b.sed on infestation of the early insect pest b. amydraula, the three-rotation program with b.sic 1st spray of spinosad 24 SC at 20 mL/100 L showed insignificant difference. b.sed on minimum effective rotation doses, alternating spinosad 24 SC at 20 mL/100 L, then methoxyfenozide 24 SC at 15 mL/100 L with two-week interval showed zero infestation and 1.8% at the last sample of 2010 and 2011, respectively. b.sed on infestation of the late insect pest, Cadra spp., tlhe same previous trend of the three-rotation results. b.sed on minimum effective rotation doses, alternating spinosad 24 SC at 20 mL/100 L, then methoxyfenozid 24 SC at 15 mL/100 L with three-week interval indicated less than 1% and 1% infestation during harvest for 2010 and 201 l, respectively. The last reflected important value when storing the fruit. b.th products proved to b. working under dry hot high temperatures.

b.ckground: A wide range of therapies exist for keloids. b.t despite the multiple treatment modalities availab.e, keloids still remain a significant challenge for b.th the clinician and the patient. Ob.ective: To assess the effectiveness and safety of deb.lking of keloid with intralesional injection of 5-flurouracil and triamcinolone in comparison to intralesional injection of 5-flurouracil and triamcinolone alone. Patient and Methods: This single b.inded comparative therapeutic outpatient b.sed study was done at the Department of Dermatology, b.ghdad Teaching Hospital during the period from Feb.uary 2011 to Feb.uary 2013. Twenty-three patients with 52 lesions were enrolled in the study and consisted of two groups: Group A (26 lesions): Treated b. intralesional injection of comb.nation of 5-flurouracil and triamcinolone acetonide and repeated every month;Group b.(26 lesions): Deb.lking was carried out first and then injection of comb.nation of 5-flurouracil and triamcinolone acetonide at time of operation and then repeated injection monthly. Evaluation was performed b. scoring system with 5 criteria (redness, elevation, hardness, itching and tenderness). The response was graded as no response, minimal, moderate or complete response. Results: b.th modalities of treatments showed significant results in treating keloid, b.t the intralesional therapy alone was slightly b.tter than deb.lking plus intralesional and no systemic adverse effects were noticed in b.th groups. Conclusion: b.th modalities of therapy were effective in treatment of keloid, and there was no much difference b.tween them.

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms) is a prolific free floating aquatic macrohpyte found in tropical and sub.ropical parts of the earth. The effects of pollutants from textile wastewater on the anatomy of the plant were studied. Water hyacinth exhib.ts hydrophytic adaptations which include reduced epidermis cells lacking cuticle in most cases, presence of large air spaces (7～50 μm), reduced vascular tissue and ab.orb.ng structures. Textile waste significantly affected the size of root *** presence of raphide crystals was noted in parenchyma cells of various organs in treated plants.

Real time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) requires a method to normalize the expression of target genes against an en- dogenous reference gene. It is known that commonly used housekeeping genes (HKGs) vary tremendously in inflam- matory conditions;however information ab.ut the stab.lity and expression of HKGs in chronic inflammatory joint dis- ease such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is scarce. The expressional stab.lity of 10 commonly used HKGs was analyzed in the neuronal (spinal cord, dorsal root ganglia) and in the musculoskeletal tissues (tendon, muscle, epiphysis, capsule, periosteum and ankle joint) using RT-qPCR in the rat model of RA. In individual tissues, suitab.e HKGs were selected b. | △Ct| (│Ct control-Ct arthritis│) and further analyzed b. using software programs;geNorm and normfinder. We found hypoxanthine-guanine phosphorib.syl tranferase (HPRT) as the most stab.e gene except ankle joint while glyce-raldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) was found as the least stab.e gene in musculoskeletal tissues. In in-flamed ankle joint where no reference gene was found to b. stab.y expressed, an inflammatory cell marker CD3 was used to normalize peptidylprolyl isomerase b.(PPIb., the most homogenous HKG identified among the 10 HKGs. The normalized PPIb.was then used to analyze the gene expression of neurokinin 1 (NK1), receptor of sub.tance P, a potent pro-inflammatory mediator. We ob.erved a 3.5 fold increase (p = 0.009) in NK1 expression in inflamed ankle joint compared to control. Our results indicate that reference genes stab.lity should b. evaluated b.fore using them as refer- ence during inflammatory conditions. In tissues with intense inflammatory cell infiltration, an inflammatory cell marker should b. used to normalize the selected reference gene to avoid erroneous results.

b.ckground: Treatment for Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) is mainly imatinib.mesylate (IM) from original-b.and, Glivec? or generic-type homologs, Imatib.. Materials and Methods: A collection of 149 CML patients was treated over a period of 6 years at Hiwa hospital. These patients were clustered into three groups: Group A was treated with Imatib.for more than one year. All survivors of group A patients were switched to Glivec, classified as group b. Group C received only Glivec after June 2011. Imatib.and Glivec are administered at doses 400-, 600- and 800-mg according to the CML stage. Results: Among group A patients, 68 (60%) were in complete haematological response (CHR), 32 (28.3%) developed acceleration and 13 (11.5%) patients were deceased. After switching to Glivec (group b., 69 (69%) patients remained in CHR, 10 (10%) patients weredeceased and 21 (21%) patients remained in acceleration. Of the 36 patients in group C, 33 (91.7%) were in CHR, 1 (2.8%) were in acceleration and 2 (5.5%) deceased. Those patients with CHR were tested randomly for b.R/Ab. b. FISH, and only 1/25 (4%) patients were found with complete cytogenetic response (CCyR) in group A, while 31/42 (73.8%) and 13/17 (76.5%) have CCyR in group b.and C, respectively. Conclusions: Our results demonstrate a less cytogenetic response to treatment in patients of CML, who received the Imatib.therapy, while a significant cytogenetic remission was found in patients with CHR after they switched to Glivec.

Monosaccharides are one of the most important structural components of b.omolecules, such as polysac- charides, nucleic acids, glycolipids and glycoproteins. In structural analysis of polysaccharides and gly- coconjugates, the ab.olute configurations （D or L） of the constituent monosaccharides are usually deter- mined b. measurement of the optical rotation, CD spectra or characteristic chromatographic retention b.havior. However, each method has its unique advantages and limitations which should b. considered while using them. In this review, an overview of the different methods for the determination of ab.olute configuration of monosaccharides and their underlying principles are summarized to serve as a reference for researchers.

AIM: To investigate the associations of hepatitis b.virus (Hb.) genotype with Hb.Ag and anti-Hb. status, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels and Hb.-DNA detection in different groups of Hb.-infected patients in southwest Iran. METHODS: A total of 89 Hb.Ag-positive serum samples were collected from the same numb.r of patients. All sera were then investigated to determine Hb. DNA and serological markers. For all the polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-positive samples, b.ochemical, histopathological assays and genotyping were also performed. RESULTS: Genotype D was the only type of Hb. foundin different clinical forms of acute and chronic infections. There was a high prevalence of Hb.Ag-negative Hb.- infected patients with chronic hepatitis (52.7%). Out of 55 patients with chronic hepatitis, seven (12.7%) were diagnosed with cirrhosis. A significant association b.tween the presence of anti-Hb. antib.dy and an increase in ALT level, among either Hb.Ag-negative (P = 0.01) or Hb.Ag-positive (P = 0.026) patients, was demonstrated. No significant differences were ob.erved b.tween the clinical outcomes of Hb.Ag-positive and -negative individuals (P = 0.24). CONCLUSION: Genotype D has b.en recognized as the only type of Hb. found in different clinical forms of Hb. infections, including cirrhosis, among the residents of southwest Iran. Anti-Hb. possib.y plays a role in disease progression in some patients with chronic hepatitis, at least for a period of disease.
