Effect of Ceo_2 and Al_2o_3 on the activity of Pd/Co_3o_4/cordierite catalyst in the three-way catalysis reactions(Co/No/C_nH_m)

The present article studies the effect of Ceo2 and A1203 on the activity of Pd/Co304/cordierite catalyst in conversion of No, Co, CnHm. The catalysts were characterized by temperature programmed reduction with hydrogen, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. It is shown that the effect of Ceo2 on the properties of Pd/C03 o4/cordierite catalyst depends on preparation method. The catalyst obtained by co-deposition of cerium and cobalt oxides has higher activity in Co oxidation （Co ＋ 02 and Co ＋ No） and total hexane oxidation （C6H14 ＋ 02）. Such phenomenon is probably caused by more than stoichiometric amount of formed oxygen vacancies, an increase in both mobility of surface oxygen and dispersity of components in the catalytic composition. It is demonstrated that Ceo2 addition promotes the So2 resistance of Pd/C03 o4/cordierite. The second support decreases the activity of Pd/Co3oa/cordierite catalyst in the reactions of Co and C6H14 with oxygen because of CoA1204 formation.

Efficacy of Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray in Delayed Antibiotic Prescriptions for Acute Rhinosinusitis: A Multicenter, Randomized, open-Label, Comparative, Prospective, Parallel Group Study

While their clinical presentation is similar, post-viral rhinosinusitis does not indicate the possible development of bacterial rhinosinusitis which occurs in only 0.5% to 5% of all cases of ARS. However, unreasonable antibacterial therapy is prescribed in 54% to 77% of cases. The perspective is to use delayed antibacterial therapy management. The purpose of the study was to investigate the efficacy of mometasone furoate nasal spray within the delayed prescription approach. Methods: A multicenter, randomized, open-label, comparative, prospective, parallel group study enrolled a total of 156 patients with ARS aged 18 to 60 years, of them 155 patients completed the study. The patients were randomized into the main group of Mometasone Furoate (Flix) Nasal Spray or into the control group of amoxicillin clavulanate tablets while both groups were administered a standard ARS therapy. Findings: The use of MF nasal spray within the delayed antibiotics prescription approach has a significantly higher efficacy compared to the immediate antibiotics prescription in the first days of treatment (p o 42.3% of patients in the main group compared to 100.0% of patients in the control group (p own that there were statistically significant differences in the dynamics of changes in the total symptom score between the patients administered antibiotics and the antibiotic-naive patients. Conclusion: The use of MF within the delayed antibiotics prescription approach reliably improves the pattern of symptoms over time at the disease onset and significantly reduces the need for NSAIDs administration and antibiotics prescription frequency.

Fetal stem cells are effective in the treatment of Grade Ⅰ and Ⅱrespiratory failure in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and muscular dystrophy

objectives: To study the effect of fetal stem cell(FSC) therapy on Grade Ⅰ and Ⅱrespiratory failure in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS) and muscular dystrophy(MD). Methods: A comparative study was conducted on 41 patients with Grade Ⅰ or Ⅱrespiratory failure(RF) resulting from ALS or MD. The patients were divided into 4 groups according to the underlying disease and the degree of RF. Patients underwent combined treatment, including the experimental application of FSC therapy, and were examined before FSC treatment, and 6 months and 12 months after treatment. Results: FSC treatment improved both subjective and objective breathing parameters as early as 6 months post‐treatment. A significant increase in the forced vital capacity(FVC) and forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1) was reported by all patients with grade Ⅰ RF linked to ALS and MD compared to baseline. Patient respiratory improvement was maintained over the next 6 months. Grade Ⅱ RF patients with MD reported a significant improvement in FVC 12 months after treatment. Conclusions: Evidence for respiratory improvement was observed as early as 6 months in all patients after combined treatment including FSC therapy, and this was maintained for a further 6 months after therapy. In MD patients with Grade Ⅱ RF, treatment resulted in a significant FVC and FEV1 increase within 6 months and downgrading to Grade Ⅰ RF within a year after FSC treatment.
