Da.a.were collected a.d a.a.yzed from a.cross-sectiona. study using the World Hea.th Orga.iza.ion’s STEPwise a.proa.h, to estima.e the preva.ence of va.ious types of dyslipidemia.a.d determine their a.socia.ed fa.tors a.ong a.ults in Kingdom of Sa.di a.a.ia. The study popula.ion included 4490 Sa.di a.ults a.ed 15 yea.s a.d older who were selected by a.stra.ified, multista.e, cluster ra.dom sa.pling technique. Lipid profile wa. determined by spectrophotometrica.ly by biochemica. methods, high tota. cholesterol (TC) wa. defined a. TC of 5.2 mmol/L or more, hypertriglyceridemia.a. serum triglycerides level 1.7 mmol/L or more a.d. low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) a. serum HDL-C 0.9 mmol/L or less, LDL-C 3.35 mmol/L or more a.d TC/HDL ra.io 5 or more. Of the 4490 subjects (94.4 % of tota. sa.ple) included in the fina. a.a.ysis, 51% were fema.es, 23% of study subjects were less tha. 25yea.s a.d 11% were 55 or more yea.s of a.e. The overa.l preva.ence of dyslipidemia.ra.ged from a.out 20% to 40%. The highest preva.ence wa. for triglycerides where a.out 44% of a.l subjects were a.fected. a.out a.fifth of the subjects ha. high level of tota. cholesterol. Ma.es ha. significa.tly higher preva.ence of a.l types of dyslipidemia.tha. fema.e except LDL-C a.d TC. Higher dyslipidemia.preva.ence of tota. cholesterol a.d triglycerides were significa.tly found in older subjects, illitera.es a.d housekeepers. Lower preva.ence ra.es for HDL-C wa. significa.tly observed in retired a.d youngest subjects. There were significa.t regiona. va.ia.ions a.d significa.tly higher preva.ence of dyslipidemia.a.ong hypertensives, dia.etics, obese/overweight, smokers a.d physica.ly ina.tive subjects. There were no significa.t differences a.cording to income or fruits a.d vegeta.le consumption. Logistic regression a.a.ysis revea.ed tha. obesity/overweight, gender, a.e, dia.etes were the most importa.t significa.t predictors of dyslipidemia. The findings of this study suggest tha. the pre

Ba.kground:In regula.ing cupping thera.y in Sa.di a.a.ia.there wa. a.need to develop a.system for continuous medica. a.d professiona. development for cupping *** current study a.med to eva.ua.e the effect of blended-internet continuing-medica.-educa.ion(CME)on knowledge,knowledge retention,a.d intellectua. skills in cupping providers compa.ed with conventiona.,fa.e-to-fa.e ***:Pa.ticipa.ts were recruited from a.list of registered cupping providers(physicia.s,nurses,a.d physiothera.ists tra.ned a.d licensed to pra.tice cupping thera.y)for a.ra.domized,open,controlled *** providing informed consent,pa.ticipa.ts were a.loca.ed into three groups(cla.ses).Cla.ses were ra.domized to(1)blended-internet CME(n=31);(2)conventiona.,fa.e-to-fa.e CME(n=31);a.d(3)control group receiving no intervention(n=32).Results:Posttest knowledge scores were increa.ed to a.grea.er extent by blended-internet CME tra.ning compa.ed to conventiona. CME(P=0.002)or no tra.ning(Pa.ly,knowledge retention wa. significa.tly higher in the blended-internet CME group compa.ed to the conventiona. CME group(P=0.011).Posttest skills scores immedia.ely a.ter the course were significa.tly higher in the blended-internet CME group compa.ed to the conventiona. CME group(mea. difference:1.408,95%confidence interva.:0.728–2.088,Pa.though the current study a.med to determine if blended-internet CME is a. effective a. conventiona.,fa.e-to-fa.e CME,the results showed tha. cupping providers who pa.ticipa.ed in blended-internet CME ha. significa.tly higher scores for posttest knowledge,knowledge retention,a.d posttest intellectua. skills.
