The effect of cold drawn on the mechanical properties and structural defects of 6201 alloy used as conductor cables was studied. The effect of heat treatment at 350 and 500 °C after deformation as well as deformed at room temperature (RT) was investigated in order to identify an optimized heat treatment for different cold drawn samples. The mechanical properties and microstructure were determined by using Vickers micro hardness (Hv) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The Evaluation of three distinguished stages observed in this investigation was discussed by using positron annihilation lifetime (PAL) technique. The present work demonstrates that PAL can provide valuable information about the microstructure of cold drawn 6201 alloy.

Pulsed laser ablation in liquid (PLAL) has become an increasingly important technique for metals production and metal oxides nanoparticles (NPs) and others. This technique has its many advantages compared with other conventional techniques (physical and chemical). This work was devoted for production of zirconia (ZrO2) nanoparticles via PLAL technique from a solid zirconium target immersed in a wet environment in order to study the effect of this environment on the optical properties and structure of ZrO2 nanoparticles. The solutions which used for this purpose is distilled water (D. W). The produces NPs were characterized by mean of many tests such as UV-visible (UV-Vis.), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and Z-Potential. The UV-Vis. A spectrum has atwavelength is 271 nm. The TEM test shows less than 10 nm average particle sizes with spherical and irregular shapes. Z-Potential test shows value about +56.1 mV which indicate for NPs stability with extremely low agglomeration solution.

Nonspecific shoulder pain is common presentation among elderly patients and patients with a history of cancer. The major concern of shoulder pain in cancer patients is the development of metastases. MRI of the shoulder is the most commonly used imaging modality for assessment of suspected soft tissue pathologies associated with the shoulder pain. In this study, we try to examine the role of shoulder MRI in elderly patients with a history of cancer presenting with nonspecific shoulder complaints for assessment of metastases.

We present 2 unusual cases of prolapsed pedunculated submucous myomas. In 1 patient, the prolapsed part measured 12 cm, with a 64 cm intrauterine part. The second patient had prolapsed pedunculated submucous myoma, which subsequently retracted into the uterus. Gynecologists should be aware of unusual presentations of pedunculated submucous myoma to plan surgery.

To compare the neonatal outcome of vaginally delivered (VD) to that of abdomin ally delivered (CS) vertex-nonvertex (Vx/NVx)-twins. Vx/NVx live nonanomalous twin gestations ≥25 weeks delivered from 1984 to 2000 were divided into two gro ups: VD (N=138), and CS (N=79). The outcome of the second twin was compared. The vaginal delivery rate for the Vx/NVx twins was 63.6%. The median Apgar scores at 1 and 5 min, respectively, were significantly lower in VD [7 (0-9) and 9 (1 -10)] compared to CS [8 (2-10) and 9 (2-10)]. The neonatal mortality was also higher in VD (109/1000 vs. 38/1000, p=0.040). Differences in the 1-min Apgar s cores persisted when infants all other neonatal outcome v ariables studied including respiratory distress syndrome, necrotizing enterocoli tis, intraventricular hemorrhage, trauma, seizures, and length of nursery stay w ere similar. On logistic regression analysis, vaginal delivery of Vx/NVx twins m arginally increased low 5-min Apgar scores and neonatal deaths. Vaginal deliver y in vertex-nonvertex twins was achieved in 63.6%of cases at the expense of a higher incidence of low 1-and 5-min Apgar scores and neonatal death.
