Steudner’s dwarf gecko,Tropiocolotes steudneri(Peters,1869) and the yellow-bellied house gecko,Hemidactylus flaviviridis Rüppell,1840 were recorded for the first time from Fars Province in southern *** a herpetofaunal survey in November 2006,a single subadult specimen of *** was collected from Deh Kohneh in southwestern *** November 2007 and May 2008,two specimens of *** were collected from Ghaleh Seied in western Fars,*** collection locations of the two new records are well outside the known distribution ranges of the two species in Iran.

Predictive potential distribution modeling is crucial in outlining habitat usage and establishing conservation management priorities. In this paper we provide detailed data on the distribution of the Caucasian rock agama Para- laudakia caucasia, and use species distribution models （MAXENT） to evaluate environmental suitability and potential distribution at a broad spatial scale. Locality data on the distribution of P. caucasia have been gathered over nearly its entire range by various authors from field surveys. The distribution model ofP caucasia showed good performance （AUC = 0.887）, and predicted high suitability in regions mainly located in Tajikistan, north Pakistan, Afghanistan, southeast Turkmenistan, northeast Iran along the Elburz mountains, Transcaueasus （Azerbajan, Armenia, Georgia）, northeastern Turkey and northward along the Caspian Sea coast in Daghestan, Russia. The identification of suitable areas for this species will help to assess conservation status of the species, and to set up management programs.

Resilience to natural hazards and disasters is inevitable when linked with community. Social resilience is the key to achieve risk reduction measures at the local levels. The objective of the paper is to assess the community resilience of the three disaster prone districts in Balochistan. A sample of 399 households was selected using stratified sampling with proportional allocation method. Four components of community resilience were assessed. The results reveal that in all components of resilience district Ziarat was more resilient compared with other two districts followed by district Jaffarabad and Nushki. The article recommends that certain initiatives may be take in the other districts also to enhance the community resilience to different disasters particularly by conducting awareness complains, diversification of income sources, and physical structure to various natural hazards.

Nitrogen and sulfur supplies have a strong influence on the physical characteristics of crop as well as on the quality and quantity of wheat storage proteins, which play an important role in bread-making process. In order to evaluate the contribution of soil and foliar fertilization of nitrogen and sulfur on physiological and quality assessment of wheat, a field trail was carried out having randomized complete block design with four replications and eight different treatments of nitrogen and sulfur combinations were allotted to plots at different growth stages. Results indicated that highest protein content (12.82%), maximum moisture content (10.9%), maximum crop growth rate and maximum absolute growth rate were recorded when the wheat crop was fertilized with T8 [Nitrogen @ 60 kg·ha-1 at sowing + 40 kg·ha-1 at tillering + 10 kg·ha-1 at anthesis (spray) + 10 kg·ha-1 after anthesis (spray)] + [Sulfur @ 15 kg·ha-1 at sowing + 10 kg·ha-1 at anthesis (spray) + 5 kg·ha-1 after anthesis (spray)], while control practice resulted low moisture content, low protein, minimum crop growth rate and low absolute growth rate. Among physiological components of wheat cultivars, leaf area index was enhanced when fertilization was done with T5 (Sulfur @ 15 kg·ha-1 at sowing + 10 kg·ha-1 at anthesis + 5 kg·ha-1 after anthesis). In all the recorded observations,concerning experiment wheat cultivar Pirsabaq2005 showed appreciable response as compared with other variety (Khyber-87). Thus it is possible to obtain maximum physiological traits as well as bread-making quality of wheat through soil and foliar application of nitrogen and sulfur.

In this paper for the first time we reported Doria＇s comb fingered gecko, Stenodactylus doriae （Blanford, 1874）, during night searching, from the Parak area in Sistan ＆ Baluchistan province, southeastern Iran. Distance of collected specimens in this study is 800 km far away from the previous reports of this species in Iran in the coastal plain of Fars and Kerman provinces as well as the lower Mesopotamian plain in Khuzestan. Our specimens were collected during night on loose sand among scattered low desert shrubs. New updated distribution map for the species is presented which extends the distribution of this lizard into eastern and southeastern Iran. Morphometrics and morphological characters of the collected specimens along with notes on ecological aspects of the study area are provided.

Pharmacokinetics of Micafungin in Adult Patients with Invasive Candidiasis and Candidemia

Micafungin is an efficacious and well-tolerated echinocandin with in vitro and in vivo activity against a broad range of Candida species. The objective of this randomized, double-blind study was to examine the pharmacokinetic parameters of micafungin and its metabolites in a subset of adult patients with invasive candidiasis or candidemia. The study was conducted at 27 sites in four countries, including eight in Europe. Micafungin 100 mg/day or liposomal amphotericin B 3 mg/kg/day were administered once daily as a 1-hour infusion in a blinded manner. The minimum duration of therapy was 14 days. To define plasma analyte (micafungin and metabolites) concentration-time profiles, serial blood samples were collected after the first dose (Day 1), and at the end of therapy (EOT). For patients who received treatment for longer than 2 weeks, an additional profile was obtained during Week 2. To determine plasma trough analyte concentrations, blood samples were collected immediately prior to dosing on Day 2, Week 2, and EOT. In 20 evaluable, micafungin-treated patients, plasma micafungin concentrations peaked at completion of the 1-hour infusion and then declined biexponentially. Plasma concentrations of the micafungin metabolites (M-1, M-2, and M-5) remained low (<1 μg/mL) throughout the study. The mean half-life and clearance of micafungin were largely unchanged with repeated dosing up to 28 days, and no evidence of micafungin accumulation was observed. These data provide further support for the predictability of micafungin pharmacokinetics in adult patients with invasive candidiasis and candidemia.
