A one step synthesis protocol for the conversion of heteroylthiosemicarbazides and 2,3‐dichloro‐1,4‐naphthoquinone to naphtho[2,3‐ d ]thiazoles, naphtho[2,3‐ e ][1,3,4]thiadiazines as well as bis(naphtho[2,3‐ d ]thiazolyl)copper(II) derivatives is described. The products were conclusively confirmed by single crystal X‐ray analyses. A mechanism for the formation of the products is presented.

The objective of this study was to prepare cubosomal nanoparticles containing a hydrophilic anticancer drug 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) for liver targeting. Cubosomal dispersions were prepared by disrupting a cubic gel phase of monoolein and water in the presence of Poloxamer 407 as a *** loaded with 5-FU were characterized in vitro and in vivo. In vitro, 5-FU-loaded cubosomes entrapped 31.21% drug and revealed nanometer-sized particles with a narrow particle size distribution. In vitro 5-FU release from cubosomes exhibited a phase of rapid release of about half of the entrapped drug during the first hour, followed by a relatively slower drug release as compared to 5-FU solution. In vivo biodistribution experiments indicated that the cubosomal formulation significantly(Po 0.05) increased5-FU liver concentration, a value approximately 5-fold greater than that observed with a 5-FU ***, serum serological results and histopathological findings revealed greater hepatocellular damage in rats treated with cubosomal formulation. These results demonstrate the successful development of cubosomal nanoparticles containing 5-FU for liver targeting. However, further studies are required to evaluate hepatotoxicity and in vivo antitumor activity of lower doses of 5-FU cubosomal formulation in treatment of liver cancer.

Colloidal lipid particles such as solid lipid nanoparticles and liquid crystalline nanoparticles have great opportunities as drug carriers especially for lipophilic drugs intended for intravenous administration. In order to evaluate drug release from these nanoparticles and determine their behavior after administration, emulsion droplets were used as a lipophilic compartment to which the transfer of a model drug was measured. The detection of the model drug transferred from monoolein cubic particles and trimyristin solid lipid nanoparticles into emulsion droplets was performed using a flow cytometric technique. A higher rate and amount of porphyrin transfer from the solid lipid nanoparticles compared to the monoolein cubic particles was observed. This difference might be attributed to the formation of a highly ordered particle which leads to the expulsion of drug to the surface of the crystalline ***, the sponge-lik. structure of the monoolein cubic particles decreases the rate and amount of drug transferred. In conclusion, the flow cytometric technique is a suitable technique to study drug transfer from these carriers to large lipophilic acceptors. Monoolein cubic particles with their unique structure can be used successfully as a drug carrier with slow drug release compared with trimyristin nanoparticles.

Developing nations have a critical need to increase electricity *** has much unrealized potential for generating solar energy,particularly in the northern *** research study focuses on designing a 1-GW solar power station in northern Sudan using the PVsyst7.0 software *** determine the appropriate location for the solar-energy station,14 criteria were *** process is generic and suitable for use in any other *** method for conducting cash-flow estimates and return on investment is illustrated in the economic *** city of Dongola,the capital of the northern state,was selected because of its high annual irradiance on a horizontal surface at~2333.2 k.h/*** simulation results show that the annual optimum tilt angle of inclination for photovoltaic(PV)modules is 30°,the energy production is 1979259 MWh/yr and the average annual performance rate is *** addition,the electric power consumption per capita in Sudan is 269 k.h/yr,so the proposed solar power plant with 1979259 MWh/yr can provide energy to 7.4 million people per year annually and reduce carbon emissions by~18 million tons of carbon dioxide per *** calculations show that the levelized cost of electricity(LCOE)is$0.06/k.h,the discounted payback.period is~11 years and the net present value is$*** a result,the proposed grid-connected PV solar plant is considered economically,technically and environmentally feasible in Sudan.

In this editorial,we comment on the hard and soft tissue applications of different ceramic-based scaffolds prepared by different mechanisms such as 3D printing,sol-gel,and *** new concept of regenerative medicine relies on biomaterials that can trigger in situ tissue regeneration and stem cell recruitment at the defect site.A large percentage of these biomaterials is ceramic-based as they provide the essential requirements of biomaterial principles such as tailored multisize porosity,antibacterial properties,and angiogenic *** these previously mentioned properties put bioceramics on top of the hierarchy of biomaterials utilized to stimulate tissue regeneration in soft and hard tissue *** clinical applications registered the use of these materials in triggering soft tissue regeneration in healthy and diabetic patients such as bioactive glass *** results were promising and opened new frontiers for utilizing these materials on a larger *** same results were mentioned when using different forms and formulas of bioceramics in hard defect *** bioceramics were used in combination with other polymers and biological scaffolds to improve their regenerative and mechanical *** this progress will enable a larger scale of patients to receive such services with ease and decrease the financial burden on the government.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract as an adjunct treatment on lead acetate induced hepatonephrotoxicity in rabbits. Methods: Thirty-six male New Zealand White rabbits were assigned into two main groups. The first group(14 rabbits) served as normal control. The second group(22 rabbits) was administered orally with lead acetate at a dose of 40 mg/k./day, 5 days/week.for 8 week.. At the 4 th and the 8 th week.of treatment, 6 animals(3 animals at each period) of the second group were sacrificed while the remaining animals(16 rabbits) were assigned randomly into 2 subgroups(8 rabbits each): treated and non-treated. The first subgroup was orally given 1 m L phosphate-buffered saline for further 4 week. while the second subgroup was administered orally with Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 400 mg/k./day for the same period. Blood samples were collected to determine hematological and serum biochemical indices. Tissue specimens were collected from the liver and k.dney for evaluation of the oxidant/antioxidant mark.rs and for histopathological ***: Lead acetate exposure decreased the mean body weight gain, hematocrit, hemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, and lymphocytes count. Moreover, it mark.dly increased counts of monocytes and platelets, serum enzyme activity, levels of creatinine, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Malondialdehyde level was mark.dly increased while the reduced glutathione content was significantly decreased in liver tissue of lead intoxicated-rabbits. Histopathological alterations were also noticed in the liver and k.dney of lead intoxicated rabbits. Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract significantly improved hematological and serum biochemical parameters and histopathological structure of the liver and k.dney. Back.round:No standard monsplasty technique has existed until *** various monsplasty methods have been described,they exhibit high complication rates with sparse postoperative *** that used pubic suspension techniques did not describe exact anatomical landmark. for the mons *** study aimed to improve the aesthetic and functional appearance of the pubic region with long-term results for all grades of pubic ptosis or bulging with abdominoplasty and provide exact anatomical points to anchor the mons to the rectus ***:This non-randomized prospective clinical trial included 30 patients with various degrees of abdominal wall laxity between December 2017 and September *** surgical procedure was performed for female patients with pendulous abdomen,pubic ptosis or bulging,body mass index≤35 k./m^(2),and age 18–60 *** patients were followed for up to one year;patient satisfaction was assessed before and after surgery regarding aesthetic results and impact on outfits,hygiene,and sexual ***:The marginal homogeneity test revealed a statistically significant patient satisfaction rate regarding outfits,sexual function,hygiene,and *** postoperative complications,seroma(one case)was managed by aspiration,and one case of wound dehiscence was managed conservatively with ***:This study recommends a quick.and reproducible monsplasty technique with a low complication rate,a technique that helps determine specific anatomical landmark. for anchoring the mons to the rectus *** this technique with abdominal contouring is advisable for optimal aesthetic results and maintained lymphatic drainage in the pubic region.
