Objective:This study wa. to compa.e 5 field conforma. technique to the intensity modula.ed ra.iothera.y (IMRT) 8 fields technique in boosting loca.ly a.va.ced ca.cer cervix ca.es a.ter externa. bea. ra.iothera.y with respect to ta.get volume covera.e a.d dose to norma. tissues. Methods:We conducted a.single institutiona. compa.a.ive dosimetric a.a.ysis of 10 pa.ients with ca.cer cervix who wa. presented to ra.iothera.y depa.tment in Na.iona. Ca.cer Institute, Ca.ro in period between June 2012 to September 2012 a.d received a.CRT boost in the pla.e of pla.ned bra.hythera.y a.ter la.ge field pelvic ra.iothera.y (PRT) with concurrent chemothera.y were retrospectively identified. a.l tumors were situa.ed in the low centra. pelvis. Two pla.s were done for every pa.ient; one using the 8 fields IMRT a.d the second one using 5 fields' 3DCRT the two techniques were then compa.ed using dose volume histogra. (DVH) a.a.ysis for the PTV, bla.der, rectum a.d both femora. hea.s. Results:Compa.ing different DVHs, it wa. found tha. the pla.ning ta.get volume (PTV) wa. a.equa.ely covered in both pla.s while it wa. demonstra.es tha. the 8 fields IMRT technique ca.ried less doses rea.hing Oa.s (rectum, bla.der, both femora. hea.s). Conclusion:From the present study, it is concluded tha. IMRT technique spa.ed more efficiently Oa.s tha. CRT technique but both techniques covered the PTV a.equa.ely so whenever possible IMRT technique should be used.

Methods: We conducted a.single institutiona. prospective compa.a.ive dosimetric a.a.ysis of 15 pa.ients who received ra.ica. ra.ia.ion thera.y for bla.der ca.cer presented to Ra.iothera.y Depa.tment in Na.iona. Ca.cer Institute, Ca.ro (Egypt), in period between November 2011 to July 2012 using 3-dimensiona. (3D) conforma. ra.iothera.y technique for ea.h pa.ient, a.second 2D conventiona. ra.iothera.y trea.ment pla. wa. done, the two techniques were then compa.ed using dose volume histogra. (DVH) a.a.ysis. Results: Compa.ing different DVHs, it wa. found tha. the pla.ning ta.get volume (PTV) wa. a.equa.ely covered in both (3D & 2D) pla.s while it wa. demonstra.ed tha. this multiple field conforma. technique produced superior distribution compa.ed to 2D technique, with considera.le spa.ing of rectum a.d to lesser extent for the hea. of both femora. Conclusion: From the present study, it is recommended to use 3D pla.ning for ca.es of bla.der ca.cer especia.ly in elderly pa.ients a. it produces good covera.e of the ta.get volume a. well a. good spa.ing of the surrounding critica. orga.s.

Objective： Of this study wa. to compa.e this multiple-field conforma. technique to the a.-Pa.technique with re- spect to ta.get volume covera.e a.d dose to norma. tissues. Methods： Seventeen pa.ients with sta.es Ⅱ-Ⅲ denoca.cinoma.of the stoma.h were trea.ed with a.juva.t postopera.ive chemora.iothera.y presented to ra.iothera.y depa.tment in Na.iona. Ca.cer Institute, Ca.ro in period between Februa.y 2009 to Ma.ch 2010 using 3D conforma. ra.iothera.y technique tha. consisted of a.monoisocentric a.ra.gement Employing 4-6 ra.ia.ion fields. For ea.h pa.ient, a.second ra.iothera.y trea.ment pla. wa. genera.ed utilizing a.-Pa.fields, the two techniques were then compa.ed for ta.get volume covera.e a.d dose to norma. tissues using dose volume histogra. （DVH） a.a.ysis. Results： The pla.ning ta.get volume （PTV） wa. a.equa.ely covered in both （ 3D ＆ 2D ） pla.s, compa.a.ive DVHs for the right kidney, left kidney a.d spina. cord demonstra.e lower ra.ia.ion doses using the conforma. technique especia.ly for left kidney ＆ spina. cord, but the liver doses is higher but still well below liver tolera.ce. Conclusion： 3D conforma. ra.iothera.y produced reduced ra.ia.ion doses to the kidneys （especia.ly left kidney ＆ spina. cord） compa.ed to a.-Pa.techniques, with the potentia. to reduce trea.ment toxicity.
