Enhanced photocatalytic degradation of 4-nitrophenol using polyacrylamide assisted Ce-doped YMnO_(3) nanoparticles

This research article mainly reports on the precise structural,optical,and photocatalytic properties of cerium(Ce)-substituted yttrium manganite(YMnO_(3))nanoparticles synthesized by the polyacrylamide gel *** characteristics of YMnO_(3)were investigated by the substitution of Ce into the Y site at various molar *** Raman and X-ray diffraction(XRD)analyses confirmed the pure phase of hexagonal YMnO_(3),supported by the Rietveld *** microstructural studies indicate inhomogeneous and irregular particle *** X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results show the presence of two ionic states of Mn and Ce along with Y^(3+)state and oxygen *** optical exploration using photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy and UV-Vis-NIR analysis indicates that the intensity of absorption peak increases in the visible region,while the bandgap decreases from 1.42 to1.30 eV with the Ce ion doping(5 mol%-15 mol%).Photocatalytic properties of the polycrystalline nanoparticles were investigated by degradation of the pollutant *** process of amplified photocatalysis process was elucidated by the lowered bandgap and rate of charge carrier *** can be conjugated from this study that the synthesized nanoparticles may be employed as highly efficient(92.8%)visible light-triggered photocatalysts in a variety of real-world applications.

Impedance Spectroscopy of Ba5GdTi3V7O30

The polycrystalline sample of Ba5GdTi3V7O30 , a member of tungsten bronze structural family, was prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. A preliminary X-ray diffraction analysis suggests the formation of single-phase compound with orthorhombic structure. The effect of temperature on impedance parameters was studied using an impedance analyzer in a wide frequency range (102- 106 Hz) at different temperatures. The real and imaginary part of complex impedance traces semicircle(s) in the complex plane. The temperature dependent plots reveal the presence of both bulk and grain boundary effects. The bulk resistance of the material decreases with rise in temperature. This exhibits a typical negative temperature coefficient of resistance (NTCR) behavior of the material. The modulus analysis suggests a possible hopping mechanism for electrical transport processes of the material. The nature of variation of dc conductivity suggests Arrhenius type of electrical conductivity.

Cell Type Specific Expression of CD80 （B7-1） Gene in Murine

The CD80 （B7-1） costimulatory molecule is expressed on the surface of B cells and its expression is transcriptionally upregulated upon stimuli. To identify the region of murine CD80 promoter that direct cell type specific gene expression, four promoters construct of CD80 gene were generated with DNA fragments fused to the GFP reporter gene. In the present study, significant promoter activity was detected with all four promoter constructs only in the murine B lymphocyte. Further, the CD80 promoter region extending from -3,005 bp to ＋273 bp in relation to the previously reported transcription start site, was identified as tissue specific region. Interestingly, the shortest 700 bp （-427/＋273） of promoter fragment was sufficient to direct the CD80 gene expression. The level of CD80 expression was also found to be modulated by exogenous stimuli in B lymphocyte. Additionally, it was demonstrated that the CD80 gene expression is regulated at the level of transcription where the inducible CD80 gene transcript was detected in B lymphocyte with increasing time.

Effect of Strontium Substitution on Impedance Properties of Ba5GdTi3V7O30Ceramics

A series of compounds Ba5-xSrxGdTi3V7O30 (x = 0 - 5), belonging to tungsten bronze family were prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction route. Using X-Ray diffraction technique and Scanning Electron Micrograph, the formation and surface morphology of the compounds were studied. The X-Ray diffraction study informs the formation of single-phase orthorhombic structures. The substitution of Sr ion with increasing concentration in the compounds as per formula resulted in a variation of the electrical properties. Study of electrical properties using impedance analyzer exhibits: 1) the presence of negative temperature coefficients of resistance (NTCR) behavior;2) presence of temperature dependent electrical relaxation phenomena;3) evidences of single electrical relaxation attributed to the presence of bulk contribution to the electrical properties for pure Ba5GdTi3V7O30 compound;4) an enhancement in the barrier to the mobility of charge carriers on Sr-substitution. The effects of Sr on changes in the electrical conductivity as a function of temperature at different frequency are described based on impedance spectrum analysis.
