Retinal structural-vascular-functional relationship using optical coherence tomography and optical coherence tomography -angiography in myopia

Background:To examine the retinal structure–vascular-function relationship using optical coherence tomography(OCT)and optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)in ***:This was a prospective cross-sectional study comprising 86 eyes of 45 individuals with varying axial lengths and spherical equivalents and no posterior segment *** eyes underwent optical coherence tomography with the Spectralis SD-OCT and OCTA with RTVue-XR Avanti;*** macular retinal layer thicknesses and flow areas and vessel densities were measured on OCT and OCTA,*** correlations were made between the macular layer thicknesses,flow areas and vessel densities with axial length,spherical equivalent and visual ***:The participants’mean ages were 33.34±14.45 years,mean spherical equivalent refractions were−7.17±5.71 D and axial lengths were 25.95±2.41 *** were significant positive correlations of foveal angle(r=0.757,p=0.001),inner retinal(r=0.764,p=0.001)and outer plexiform layer(r=0.771,p=0.001)thickness on OCT and vessel densities in deep capillary plexus(r=0.313,p=0.003)on OCTA with axial length and negative correlations with spherical equivalents and visual *** negative correlations of outer nuclear layer(r=−0.560,p=0.03)and photoreceptor outer segment layer thickness(r=−0.856,p<0.001)were noted on OCT with axial length and positive correlations with spherical equivalents and visual ***:The lateral retinal stretching in myopia could possibly explain the correlation between retinal layer thickness,vascular density and visual acuity in these *** research is required to investigate this.

Evaluation of Shunt Reactive Power Compensation Effect on ATC Using Linear Methods

Most power transfer studies involve contingencies and multi pattern scenarios that often can only be performed in reasonable time with the use of linear methods. In these works, the effect of reactive power flows in line loading is neglected while formulating the problem for ATC （available transfer capability） calculations. This paper presents the determination of shunt reactive power compensation in the presence of FACTS （flexible AC transmission system） devices like： SSSC （static synchronous series compensator） and UPFC （unified power flow controller） for enhancement of power transfer capability of a power system incorporating the reactive power flows in ATC calculations. In doing so, redistribution of power flow takes place and therefore improves ATC of the system. Studies on a sample 5-bus power system model are carried out to illustrate the effect of shunt compensation along with line flow control.

Quantifying microstructural changes in retinitis pigmentosa using spectral domain – optical coherence tomography

Background:Most patients of established retinitis pigmentosa(RP)have subnormal peripheral vision and heavily rely on central vision for their daily *** visual acuity is dependent on photoreceptor survival at the *** of structural changes that precede visual loss is *** aim of this study was to correlate the Spectral Domain-Optical Coherence Tomography(SD-OCT)characteristics with visual acuity in patients with typical ***:This was a retrospective,observational case series of 224 eyes of 113 RP patients conducted a tertiary eye care ***-OCT imaging was done for all *** retinal thickness(CRT),photoreceptor outer segment length(PROS),foveal outer segment pigment epithelial thickness(FOSPET)and ellipsoid zone(EZ)extent were measured.A new variable,FOSPET-PROS ratio(FPR),obtained by dividing FOSPET by PROS is defined and correlated to corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA)in logMAR using linear ***:Out of 113 patients,71 were males and 42 *** age of the patients was 35.4±15.1 *** CDVA was 0.33±0.25 logMAR with no difference between the *** CRT(218.74±83.5μm)and FPR(1.63±0.22)significantly correlated to CDVA with a correlation coefficient of r=−0.139(p=0.048)and r=0.842(p=0.0001),***(mean=71.15±13.8μm)and PROS(mean=44.85±12.5μm)did not show a significant correlation to CDVA,independent of ***:Retinal microstructural changes on SD-OCT,especially the FPR,can be used as a surrogate marker to monitor disease progression in the central retina in degenerative diseases like RP.

Historical temporal variation in precipitation over Western Himalayan Region：1857-2006

This study has examined the temporal variation in monthly, seasonal & annual precipitation over the Western Himalayan Region(WHR) and the influence of global teleconnections, like the North Atlantic Oscillation(NAO) and Southern Oscillation(SO) Indices on seasonal & annual precipitation. The Mann–Kendall non-parametric test is applied for trend detection and the Pettitt–Mann–Whitney test is used to detect possible shift. Maximum entropy spectral analysis is applied to find the periodicity in annual & seasonal precipitation. The study shows a non-significant decreasing trend in annual precipitation over WHR for the period 1857-2006. However, in seasonal precipitation, a significant decreasing trend is observed in monsoon and a significant increasing trend in post-monsoon season during the same period. The significant decrease in monsoon precipitation may be due to weakening of its teleconnection with NAO as well as SO Indices mainly during last three decades. It is observed that the probable change of year in annual & monsoon precipitation over WHR is 1979. The study also shows significant periodicities of 2.3-2.9 years and of 3.9-4.7 years in annual & seasonal precipitation over WHR.

More than 1 300 species of the vast genus Acacia are found in tropical habitats. They are crucial economic plants since they produce traditional medicines, timber, and gum. The pharmacological uses of the Acacia genus include anti-diarrheal, anti-malarial, chronic pain relief, wound healing, anti-cancer, anti-rheumatism, and antidiabetes activities. It is also used for treating various illnesses such as gastroenteritis, allergies, Alzheimer’s disease, cough, and cardiovascular disease. The present review aims to summarize the antimicrobial activities including the antibacterial and antifungal activity of the Acacia genus. The literature was searched in books and online databases including SciFinder, Google Scholar, Scopus, Pub Med, and scientific journals using the most relevant keywords: Acacia+antimicrobial, Acacia+antibacterial, and Acacia+antifungal.

Geochemistry and petrogenesis of Neoproterozoic A-type granites at Nakora in the Malani Igneous Suite,Western Rajasthan,India

The Nakora Ring Complex(NRC)(732 Ma) occurs as a part of Malani Igneous Suite(MIS) in the West-ern Rajasthan,*** complex consists of three phases(volcanic,plutonic and dyke).Geochemically,the Na-kora granites are peralkaline,metaluminous and slightly *** display geochemical characteristics of A-type granites and distinct variation trends with increasing silica *** peralkaline granites show higher concentrations of SiO2,total alkalies,TiO2,MgO,Ni,Rb,Sr,Y,Zr,Th,U,La,Ce,Nd,Eu and Yb and lower concen-trations of Al2O3,total iron,Cu and Zn than metaluminous *** content is ≥1 for peralkaline granites and <1 for peraluminous and metaluminous *** peralkaline granites are plotted between 4 to 7 kb in pressure and are emplaced at greater depths(16-28 km and 480-840℃) as compared to metaluminous granites which indicate the high fluorine content in peralkaline *** primitive mantle normalized multi-element profiles suggest that Nakora granites(peralkaline,metaluminous and peraluminous) are characterized by low La,Sr and Eu and relatively less minima of Ba,Nb and Ti which suggests the aspects related to crustal origin for Nakora *** Nakora granites are characterized as A-type granites(Whalen et al.,1987) and correspond to the field of "Within Plate Gran-ite"(Pearce et al.,1984).Geochemical,field and petrological data suggest that Nakora granites are the product of partial melting of rocks similar to Banded Gneiss from Kolar Schist Belt of India.

Correlates of avifaunal diversity along the elevational gradient of Mardi Himal in Annapurna Conservation Area,Central Nepal

Vigna radiata var. GM4 Plant Growth Enhancement and Root Colonization by a Multi-Metal-Resistant Plant Growth-Promoting Bacterium Enterobacter sp. C1D in Cr(VI)-Amended Soils

Contamination of agricultural soils by heavy metals has become a major concern due to their toxic effects on plant growth,symbiosis and consequently the yields of crops. In the present study, to enhance plant growth in Cr（VI）-amended soils, novel metalresistant plant growth-promoting bacteria（PGPB） were isolated from a soil contaminated with industrial waste effluent. One of the bacterial isolates, identified as Enterobacter sp. C1 D by 16 S r RNA gene sequencing, was found to be multi-metal resistant in nature with excellent plant growth-promoting（PGP） traits. Mung bean（Vigna radiata var. GM4） inoculation with Enterobacter sp.C1 D significantly（P ＆lt; 0.01） increased root and shoot length, shoot and root weight, and chlorophyll content in a range of Cr（VI）treatments. Plant tolerance towards Cr（VI） measured as effective concentration showed higher values with Enterobacter sp. C1 Dtreated plants compared to un-inoculated plants. Root colonization study was also carried out using green fluorescence protein-labeled Enterobacter sp. C1 D under a hydroponic system. Confocal laser scanning microscopy of the plant roots showed heavy bacterial loads on the surface of the plant root specifically at the root tip and the point of root hair/lateral root formation. The results of PGP traits showed that elevated indole acetic acid levels and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase activity enabled Enterobacter sp. C1 D to enhance V. radiata growth in Cr（VI）-amended soils, whereby it significantly increased plant tolerance towards elevated Cr（VI） concentrations.

Recognizing Ancient South Indian Language Using Opposition Based Grey Wolf Optimization

Recognizing signs and fonts of prehistoric language is a fairly difﬁcult job that requires special *** stipulation make the dispensation period over-riding,difﬁcult and tiresome to *** paper present a technique for recognizing ancient south Indian languages by applying Artiﬁcial Neural Network(ANN)associated with Opposition based Grey Wolf Optimization Algorithm(OGWA).It identiﬁes the prehistoric language,signs and *** is an apparent from the ANN system that arbitrarily produced weights or neurons linking various layers play a signiﬁcant role in its *** adaptively determining these weights,this paper applies various optimization algorithms such as Opposition based Grey Wolf Optimization,Particle Swarm Optimization and Grey Wolf Opti-mization to the ANN *** results are illustrated that the proposed ANN-OGWO technique achieves superior accuracy over the other *** test case 1,the accuracy value of OGWO is 94.89%and in test case 2,the accu-racy value of OGWO is 92.34%,on average,the accuracy of OGWO achieves 5.8%greater accuracy than ANN-GWO,10.1%greater accuracy than ANN-PSO and 22.1%greater accuracy over conventional ANN technique.
