The past decade has witnessed a variety of members of the carbon family along with exposure of carbon dots due to their magnificent properties in sensing,bioimaging,catalytic applications,biomedical fields,and so ***,we report the simple hydrothermal method to fabricate photoluminescent doped carbon quantum dots for the detection of noxious lead(II)***(II)ion is very venomous for both the environment and human health for which its detection is demanded area in the research *** as-prepared carbon dots show excellent photostability,low toxicity and significant photoluminescence properties along with good water *** with these properties,carbon dots have a quantum yield of approximately 15%.In the practical field of application,these carbon dots have been used as sensing probes for the detection of lead(II)ions with a detection limit of 60 nmol·L^(–1).The fluorescence intensity of carbon dots was remarkably quenched in the presence of the lead(II)ion selectively among all the tested metal ***,we have studied the Stern–Volmer relationship for lead(II)quenching along with the explanation of the probable quenching *** of the doped carbon dots in heavy metal ions sensing in an environmental sample was demonstrated.

In India coal combustion is the single largest source of emission of mercury which is a widespread persistent global toxicant,travelling across international borders through air and *** a party to the Minamata convention,India aims to monitor and reduce Hg emissions and stricter norms are introduced for mercury emissions from power plants(30μg/Nm 3 for flue gas in stack).This paper presents the results obtained during the experimental studies performed on mercury emissions at four coal-fired and one lignite-fired power plants in *** mercury concentration in the feed coal varied between 0.12-0.27 mg/*** the mercury mass balance,significant proportion of feed coal mercury has been found to be associated with fly ash,whereas bottom ash contained very low mercury.80%-90%of mercury was released to air through stack ***,for circulating fluidised bed boiler burning lignite,about 64.8%of feed mercury was found to get captured in the fly ash and only 32.4%was released to *** mercury emission factor was found to lie in the range of 4.7-15.7 mg/GJ.

The effective reinforcement of two or more overlying layers of mine openings in a single installation is usually done by coupling of two standard rock bolts mainly during the extraction of medium-thick coal ***,field observations show that the couplers of multiple bolts often degrade or break mostly at their *** types of failures can be avoided by strengthening the couplers of such multi-bolts *** achieve this,a novel threaded coupler system with an expansion shell was suggested in this *** newly designed coupler consists of a threaded tapered-plug-cumconnector with an expansion shell for connecting and tightening two standard rock *** analytical model for evaluating the load distribution along the coupler subject to axial load was *** analysis was performed to analyse the load transfer,deformation,and strains across the coupler including the factor of safety for the bolt-coupler-resin and bolt-coupler-expansion *** results validated the analytical model of the proposed coupler design,which provides better anchorage near the interface of the host rock ***,the developed coupler design would reduce the failures of the proposed coupler and stabilize laminated roof strata above the medium-thick coal seams in underground mines.

Polytypic transformations of aluminum hydroxide: A mechanistic investigation

The diffusion of ammonia vapors into a solution of aluminum nitrate or ferric nitrate results in the precipitation of their respective hydroxides and oxyhydroxides. Polymorphic phase formation of aluminum hydroxide is controlled by the rate of crystallization. The PXRD patterns of products obtained via vapor phase diffusion revealed that poorly ordered aluminum hydroxide is formed during the initial stages of crystallization. After 8 days, the formation of the bayerite phase of aluminum hydroxide was observed. Upon prolonged exposure to ammonia vapors, bayerite was transformed into gibbsite. The infrared spectrum of the product confirmed the presence of different polytypic phases of aluminum hydroxide. The results demonstrated that the crystal structure of metal hydroxides is controlled by the rate of crystallization, nature of the metal ion, site selectivity and specificity and preparative conditions.

AIM Toll like receptors plays a significant anti-viral role in different infections. The aim of this study was to look into the role of toll like receptor 4(TLR4) in hepatitis B virus(HBV) *** Real time PCR was used to analyze the transcription of TLR4 signaling molecules, cell cycle regulators and HBV DNA viral load after triggering the Hep G2.2.15 cells with TLR4 specific ligand. Nuclear factor(NF)-κB translocation on TLR4 activation was analyzed using microscopic techniques. Protein and cell cycle analysis was done using Western Blot and FACS *** The present study shows that TLR4 activation represses HBV infection. As a result of HBV suppression, there are several changes in host factors which include partial release in G1/S cell cycle arrest and changes in host epigenetic marks. Finally, it was observed that anti-viral action of TLR4 takes place through the NF-κB *** The study shows that TLR4 activation in HBV infection brings about changes in hepatocyte microenvironment and can be used for developing a promising therapeutic target in future.

An experimental investigation on the workability behaviour of sintered Fe-0.35C steel preforms under cold upsetting,have been studied in order to understand the influence of aspect ratio and lubrication condition on the workability *** above mentioned powder metallurgy sintered preform with constant initial theoretical density of 84% of different aspect ratios,namely,0.4 and 0.6 respectively were prepared using a suitable die-set assembly on a 1 MN capacity hydraulic press and sintered for 90 min at 1200 ℃.Each sintered preform was cold upset under nil/no and graphite frictional constraint,*** the condition of triaxial stress densification state,axial stress,hoop stress,hydrostatic stress,effective stress and formability stress index against axial strain relationship was established and presented in this *** more,attained density was considered to establish formability stress index and various stress ratio parameters behaviour.

Complete experimental investigation on the instantaneous strain hardening behaviour of powder metallurgy （P/M） preforms of pure iron, Fe 0.35%C, Fe-0.75%C and Fe-1.1%C was carried out. The strain hardening be haviour of the above-mentioned P/M sintered steel preforms with aspect ratio of 0.4 under triaxial stress state condition was determined by cold upsetting under nil/no and graphite lubricant conditions. The instantaneous strain hardening value （ni）, strength coefficient （Ki）, and the stress as a function of strain and densification were obtained and analyzed. Furthermore, a relation was obtained from a semi-log plot of stress against relative density and analyzed to study the hardening behaviour owing to densification as stress was a function of induced strain as well as densification in the P/M materials.

We propose an ultra-lightweight, compact, and low power block cipher BORON. BORON is a substitution and permutation based network, which operates on a 64-bit plain text and supports a key length of 128/80 bits. BORON has a compact structure which requires 1939 gate equivalents(GEs) for a 128-bit key and 1626 GEs for an 80-bit key. The BORON cipher includes shift operators, round permutation layers, and XOR operations. Its unique design helps generate a large number of active S-boxes in fewer rounds, which thwarts the linear and differential attacks on the cipher. BORON shows good performance on both hardware and software platforms. BORON consumes less power as compared to the lightweight cipher LED and it has a higher throughput as compared to other existing SP network ciphers. We also present the security analysis of BORON and its performance as an ultra-lightweight compact cipher. BORON is a well-suited cipher design for applications where both a small footprint area and low power dissipation play a crucial role.

BACKGROUND Ligament flavum(LF)hypertropy is the main etiopathogenesis of lumbar canal stenosis(LCS).The purely elastic LF undergoes a morphological adaptation including a reduction in the elastic fibers and a consequent increase in the collagen content,fibrosis,cicatrization,and ***,the morphometric analysis can delineate the LF in patients with LCS from those without LCS,which would help in better understanding LCS *** To compare the histopathological changes in LF between the degenerative LCS and non-stenotic(non-LCS)*** The present prospective study was conducted in 82 patients who were divided into two groups,namely LCS and *** details of the patients such as duration of symptoms,level of involvement,and number of segments were *** LF obtained from both groups was histopathologically examined for the fibrosis score,elastic fiber degeneration,calcification,and chondroid *** details included a change in elastin and collagen percentages,elastin/collagen ratio,elastic fiber fragmentation,and ligamentocyte *** parameters were compared between the two groups by using the independent t test,chi-square test,and Pearson’s correlation *** Out of 82 cases,74 were analysed,34 in LCS and 40 in non-LCS *** mean±SD age of presentation in LCS and non-LCS group was 49.2±8.9 and 43.1±14.3 *** LCS group(n=34)exhibited significant differences in fibrosis(P=0.002),elastic fiber degeneration(P=0.01),%elastic fragmentation(66.5±16.3 vs 29.5±16.9),%elastic,content(26.9±6.7 vs 34.7±8.4),%collagen content(63.6±10.4 vs 54.9±6.4),reduction of elastic/collagen(0.4±0.1 vs 0.6±0.1),and ligamentocyte number(39.1±19.1 vs 53.5±26.9)as compared to non-LCS group(n=40).The calcification(P=0.08)and Pearson’s correlation between duration and loss of elastin was not *** difference in LF morphology is consistent in patient’s≥40 years of age among the groups as found in
