Does patient’s Initial Evaluation predict a Change in Optimal pressure on CpAp Retitration?

Introduction: Only vindication of a nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CpAp) retitration procedure will be an actual change in the optimal CpAp pressure after that test. The purpose of this study was to identify any items in patient characteristics, clinical features, baseline pSG and initial CpAp titration as predictors of change in optimal pressure on CpAp retitration. Methods: 46 patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) were divided in two groups: Group I (optimal pressure was changed on CpAp retitration): N = 30, M 22 and F 8, age 31-72, BMI 26-50 Kg/m2, neck size 15 – 20', tonsillectomy in 8, narrow oropharynx in 15, uvuvlopalatopharyngoplasty (Up3) in 2, abnormal chin in 3, deviated nasal septum (DNS) and prior nose surgery in 1 each, initial CpAp pressure 6-19 cm, sleep efficiency 65%-98%, REM latency 0-304 minutes and residual apnea hypopnea index (AHI) 0-23/hour. Group II (optimal pressure unchanged after CpAp retitration): N = 16, M 11 and 5 F, age 32-69, BMI 23-62 Kg/m2, neck size 14.5-20', tonsillectomy in 6, narrow oropharynx in 5, abnormal chin in 4, corrective nasal surgery in 2, DNS in 1, initial CpAp pressure 8-13 cm of H2O, sleep efficiency 69%-95%, REM latency 0-270 minutes and residual AHI 0-19/hour. The statistical analyses were performed using two-tailed Fisher’s t test and unpaired t test. A p value of patient characteristics (age, gender, neck size, and BMI), clinical features (tonsillar status, oropharyngeal narrowing, chin abnormality, DNS/nasal surgery or Up3), baseline pSG or initial CpAp titration (sleep efficiency, REM latency, residual AHI and initial CpAp pressure) did not differ significantly between the 2 groups (p = 0.09-0.99). Conclusion: patient characteristics, clinical features or variables on baseline pSG and initial CpAp titration do not predict a change in optimal pressure on CpAp retitration. Carp polyculture is commonly practiced throughout south Asia,but traditional aquaculture methodsoften lead to low fish yields from ponds in this *** trials were conducted to evaluate the benefitsof adding Nile tilapia and sahar to carp polyculture *** first trial was conducted in 9 earthenponds for 240 *** on-station trial stocked ponds with three separate treatments:a)carp only(C);b)carp+tilapia(C+T);and c)carp+tilapia+sahar(C+T+S).Combined net fish yield at harvest wassignificantly higher in the C+T+S trial(2.58±0.10 t·ha^(-1)·crop^(-1))compared to the C trial(2.01±0.26t·ha^(-1)·crop^(-1)).Additionally,gross margin(output value minus input costs)was significantlyhigher in the C+T+S trial(2357±211 USD/ha)compared to the C trial(1300±316 USD/ha),but notcompared to the C+T trial(1569±177 USD/ha).Next,an on-farm trial was conducted in 12 farmer-managed earthen ponds for 165 *** trial focused on two treatment types:a)C and b)C+T+*** net fish yield at harvest was significantly higher in the C+T+S trial(2.78±0.39 t·ha^(-1)·crop^(-1))compared to the C trial(2.06±0.14 t·ha^(-1)·crop^(-1)).Gross margin was alsosignificantly higher in theC+T+S trial(3219±367 USD/ha)compared to the C trial(1800±250 USD/ha).The use of these alternative species,along with traditional carp,has the ability to increase fish yieldand raise profits in polyculture systems.

Assessment of soil erosion in the Irga watershed on the eastern edge of the Chota Nagpur plateau,India

Human activities to improve the quality of life have accelerated the natural rate of soil *** turn,these natural disasters have taken a great impact on *** activities,particularly the conversion of vegetated land into agricultural land and built-up area,stand out as primary contributors to soil *** present study investigated the risk of soil erosion in the Irga watershed located on the eastern fringe of the Chota Nagpur plateau in Jharkhand,India,which is dominated by sandy loam and sandy clay loam soil with low soil organic carbon(SOC)*** study used the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation(RUSLE)and Geographical Information System(GIS)technique to determine the rate of soil *** five parameters(rainfall-runoff erosivity(R)factor,soil erodibility(K)factor,slope length and steepness(LS)factor,cover-management(C)factor,and support practice(p)factor)of the RUSLE were applied to present a more accurate distribution characteristic of soil erosion in the Irga *** result shows that the R factor is positively correlated with rainfall and follows the same distribution pattern as the *** K factor values in the northern part of the study area are relatively low,while they are relatively high in the southern *** mean value of the LS factor is 2.74,which is low due to the flat terrain of the Irga *** is a negative linear correlation between Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)and the C factor,and the high values of the C factor are observed in places with low *** mean value of the p factor is 0.210,with a range from 0.000 to *** calculating all parameters,we obtained the average soil erosion rate of 1.43 t/(hm^(2)•a),with the highest rate reaching as high as 32.71 t/(hm^(2)•a).Therefore,the study area faces a low risk of soil ***,preventative measures are essential to avoid future damage to productive and constructive activities caused by soil *** study also ident

＜正＞ A randomized, double blind, placebo controlled, multicentric clinical study was conducted to evaluate the possible protective effects of LL-2123 Hp, a poly-herbal preparation, against anti-TB drug induced hepatotoxicity in patients of pulmonary TB. Clinically diagnosed pulmonary TB patients （n = 103） were randomly divided into two groups and given placebo or LL-2123 Hp（test drug）, a-longwith anti-TB therapy for 8 weeks, and were followed up at regular intervals for qualitative and quantitative measures of liver function. Analysis of data of 95 completed patients showed that there was a significant increase in body weight （49% ） in the test drug group as compared to placebo （42% ）. Further, the anti-TB chemotherapy induced elevations in liver function markers in test and placebo groups were: SGOT（30% vs 85% ）, SGpT（28% vs 90% ） and GGTp（25% vs50 % ） in the 8 week follow ups. Adverse effect profile of the test drug group was less severe as compared to that of placebo. The results indicate that LL -2123 Hp was more efficacious and better tolerated than the placebo when used a-gainst anti-TB chemotherapy.

The present research work attempted to delineate and characterize the reservoir facies from the Dawson Canyon Formation in the penobscot field,Scotian *** integrated study of instantaneous frequency,p-impedance,volume of clay and neutron-porosity attributes,and structural framework was done to unravel the Late Cretaceous depositional system and reservoir facies distribution patterns within the study *** strikes were found in the EW and NEE-SWW directions indicating the dominant course of tectonic activities during the Late Cretaceous period in the region.p-impedance was estimated using model-based seismic *** properties such as the neutron porosity(NpHI)and volume of clay(VCL)were estimated using the multilayer perceptron neural network with high ***,a combination of low instantaneous frequency(15-30 Hz),moderate to high impedance(7000-9500 gm/cc*m/s),low neutron porosity(27%-40%)and low volume of clay(40%-60%),suggests fair-to-good sandstone development in the Dawson Canyon *** calibration with the welllog data,it is found that further lowering in these attribute responses signifies the clean sandstone facies possibly containing *** present study suggests that the shale lithofacies dominates the Late Cretaceous deposition(Dawson Canyon Formation)in the penobscot field,Scotian *** faults and overlying shale facies provide structural and stratigraphic seals and act as a suitable hydrocarbon entrapment mechanism in the Dawson Canyon Formation's *** present research advocates the integrated analysis of multi-attributes estimated using different methods to minimize the risk involved in hydrocarbon exploration.

To investigate climate variability in Asia during the last millennium, the spatial and temporal evolution of summer(June–July–August;JJA) temperature in eastern and south-central Asia is reconstructed using multi-proxy records and the regularized expectation maximization(RegE M) algorithm with truncated total least squares(TTLS), under a point-by-point regression(ppR) framework. The temperature index reconstructions show that the late 20 th century was thewarmest period in Asia over the past millennium. The temperature field reconstructions illustrate that temperatures in central, eastern, and southern China during the 11 th and 13 th centuries, and in western Asia during the 12 th century, were significantly higher than those in other regions, and comparable to levels in the 20 th century. Except for the most recent warming, all identified warm events showed distinct regional expressions and none were uniform over the entire reconstruction area. The main finding of the study is that spatial temperature patterns have, on centennial timescales, varied greatly over the last millennium. Moreover, seven climate model simulations, from the Coupled Model Intercomparison project phase 5(CMIp5), over the same region of Asia, are all consistent with the temperature index reconstruction at the 99 % confidence level. Only spatial temperature patterns extracted as the first empirical orthogonal function(EOF) from the GISS-E2-R and MpI-ESM-p model simulations are significant and consistent with the temperature field reconstruction over the past millennium in Asia at the 90 % confidence level. This indicates that both the reconstruction and the simulations depict the temporal climate variability well over the past millennium. However, the spatial simulation or reconstruction capability of climate variability over the past millennium could be still limited. A four parameter cubic equation of state with temperature dependent covolume parameter

A four-parameter, Ghoderao–Dalvi–narayan 2 cubic equation of state(GDN2 CEOS), is presented which incorporates the following: 1. The experimental value of the critical compressibility factor has been used as a fixed input parameter for calculations;2. All the parameters(a, b, c, d) of CEOS are temperature dependent functions in the subcritical region and are temperature independent functions in the supercritical region and;3. A new α function is introduced with two compound specific parameters which are estimated by matching saturated vapor pressure at two fixed temperature points Tr= 0.5, 0.7. Our formalism enables us to cast three of the four parameters of the CEOS as a function of the remaining parameter. The proposed CEOS is used to predict properties of 334 pure compounds, including saturated vapor pressure and liquid density, compressed liquid density, heat capacities at the constant pressure and volume, enthalpy of vaporization, sound velocity. To calculate thermodynamic properties of a pure compound, the present CEOS require the critical temperature, the critical pressure, the pitzer’s acentric factor, the critical compressibility factor, and two parameters of the alpha function. The saturated liquid density predictions for pure fluids are very accurate when compared with GDN1(Ghoderao–Dalvi–narayan 1),MpR(Modified peng–Robinson), and pT(patel–Teja) equations of state. Unlike MpR EOS, the proposed temperature dependent covolume parameter b in the present work satisfies all the constraints mentioned in the literature to avoid thermodynamic inconsistencies at the extreme temperature and pressure. Using van der Waals one-fluid mixing rule, the present CEOS is further used to predict bubble pressure and the vapor mole fraction of binary mixtures.

Influence of Carbon Content on Strain Hardening Behaviour of Sintered plain Carbon Steel preforms

Complete experimental investigation on the instantaneous strain hardening behaviour of powder metallurgy （p/M） preforms of pure iron, Fe 0.35%C, Fe-0.75%C and Fe-1.1%C was carried out. The strain hardening be haviour of the above-mentioned p/M sintered steel preforms with aspect ratio of 0.4 under triaxial stress state condition was determined by cold upsetting under nil/no and graphite lubricant conditions. The instantaneous strain hardening value （ni）, strength coefficient （Ki）, and the stress as a function of strain and densification were obtained and analyzed. Furthermore, a relation was obtained from a semi-log plot of stress against relative density and analyzed to study the hardening behaviour owing to densification as stress was a function of induced strain as well as densification in the p/M materials.
