Complex hydride materials have been widely investigated as potential solid electrolytes because they have good compatibility with the lithium metal anodes used in all-solid-state batteries. However, the development of all-solid-state batteries utilizing complex hydrides has been difficult as these cells tend to have short cycle lives. This study investigated the capacity fading mechanism of all-solid-state lithium–sulfur(Li–S) batteries using Li4(BH4)3I solid electrolytes by analyzing the cathode microstructure. Crosssectional scanning electron microscopy observations after 100 discharge–charge cycles revealed crack formation in the Li4(BH4)3I electrolyte and an increased cathode thickness. Raman spectroscopy indicated that decomposition of the Li4(BH4)3I solid electrolyte occurred at a constant rate during the cycling *** combat these effects, the cycle life of Li–S batteries was improved by increasing the amount of solid electrolyte in the cathode.

We report on an all-solid-state battery that employs a closo-type complex hydride solid electrolyte and a LiCoO2 *** modification between the solid electrolyte and cathode with a LiNbO3 buffer layer enables reversible charge-discharge cycling with a cell voltage of 3.9V (***^+/Li) at room *** analyses clarify that the given modification effectively suppresses side reactions at the cathode/solid electrolyte *** interfacial resistance is lowered by ca.10 times with a 5 nm thick LiNbO3 buffer layer compared to that without a buffer layer,so that a discharge capacity of 109 mAh g^-1 is *** results suggest that interfacial modification can be a viable approach to the development of high-voltage all-solid-state batteries using closo-type complex hydride solid electrolytes and oxide cathodes.

Hollow silica-alumina composite spheres were prepared by a polystyrene(PS)template method using various amounts of PS *** hollow spheres prepared using 40 g were found to be with a diameter of about 300 nm in scanning electron microscopy,and transmission electron microscopy demonstrated their hollow sphere *** the nitrogen adsorption isotherm results,the homogeneous hollow spheres prepared using 40 g of the PS suspension were found to be an ordered pore *** activities of the hollow spheres prepared using various amounts of the PS suspension for hydrolytic dehydrogenation of ammonia borane were *** results showed that 10,7,and 6 mL of hydrogen were evolved from the aqueous ammonia borane solution in about 40 min in the presence of the hollow spheres prepared using 40,80,and 120 g of PS suspension,*** homogeneous hollow spheres with an ordered pore structure showed the highest activity among all the hollow *** amount of acid sites and the coordination number of aluminum active species were characterized using neutralization titration and solid-state ^(27)Al magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance *** homogeneous hollow spheres with an ordered pore structure had high amount of acid sites and 4-coordinated aluminum *** relative proportion of 4-coordinated aluminum species was related to the dispersion of aluminum *** results indicate that the homogeneous hollow spheres with an ordered pore structure showed the high activity because of high amount of acid sites induced by the highly dispersed aluminum species.

We report the lithium ionic conductivities of closo –type complex hydrides synthesized from various molar ratios of lithium borohydride(LiBH4) and decaborane(B10H14) as starting materials. The prepared closo –type complex hydrides comprised [B12H12]^2-, [B11H11]^2-, and [B10H10]^2- complex anions. In addition, increasing the LiBH4 content in the starting materials increased the amounts of [B11H11]^2- and [B10H10]^2-, leading to an improved ion conductivity of the prepared sample. The present study offers useful insights into strategies for controlling the complex anion composition in emerging solid electrolytes of closo-type complex hydrides at the molecular level, and improving their ionic conductivities.

Titanium oxide that has photocatalytic activity is used as white pigment for cosmetics.A certain degree of sebum on the skin is decomposed by the ultraviolet radiation in *** this work,as novel white pigment,titanium phosphates were synthesized with titanium sulfate and phosphoric acid for *** chemical composition,powder properties,photocatalytic activity,color phase,moisture retention,and smoothness were *** titanium phosphates had less photocatalytic activity to protect the sebum on the *** without heating and those heated at 100℃showed high reflectance in the range of visible *** prepared in Ti/P=3/2 had higher moisture retention than samples prepared in other Ti/P ratios.

We investigated the biodegradation of 2-nitrophenol （2-NP）, 4-nitrophenol （4-NP）, and 2,4-dinitrophenol （2,4-DNP） in the rhizosphere of Spirodela polyrrhiza plants by conducting degradation experiments with three river water samples supplemented with each nitrophenol （NP）. We then isolated NP-degrading bacteria both from the S. polyrrhiza roots and from the river water. In the river water samples, removal of the three NP was accelerated in the presence of S. polyrrhiza plants. The three NPs persisted in an autoclaved solution with sterile plants suggests that NP removal was accelerated largely by bacterial NP biodegradation rather than by adsorption and uptake by the plants. We isolated 8 strains of NP-degrading bacteria： 6 strains from the S. polyrrhiza roots and 2 strains from river water without the plants. The 2-NP- and 2,4-DNP-degrading bacteria were isolated only from the S. polyrrhiza roots. The 4-NP- degrading bacteria different from those isolated from the river water samples were also found on S. polyrrhiza roots. The 2-NP- and 4-NP-degrading strains isolated from the roots utilized the corresponding NP （0.5 mmol/L） as the sole carbon and energy source. The 2,4-DNP-degrading strains isolated from the roots showed substantial 2,4-DNP-degrading activity, but the presence of other carbon and energy sources was required for their growth. The isolated NP-degrading bacteria from the roots must have contributed to the accelerated degradation of the three NPs in the rhizosphere of S. polyrrhiza. Our results suggested that rhizoremediation with S. polyrrhiza may be effective for NP-contaminated surface water.

AIM To investigate whether the association between sleep duration and impaired glucose metabolism varies among younger and older *** We reviewed data of self-reported habitual sleep duration per night, HbA1c levels, and clinically relevant factors in a cross-sectional checkup database of 75472 Japanese from the general population aged 20-79 years(51695 men and 23777 women). Associations of prediabetes(HbA1c ≥ 5.7% and/or diabetic pharmacotherapy) or diabetes(HbA1c ≥ 6.5% and/or diabetic pharmacotherapy) with short and long sleep durations compared with a reference sleep duration(7 h) were investigated by multivariate logistic regression analysis. We controlled for potential relevant confounders, including age, sex, and work duration per day according to younger and older *** As age advanced, sleep duration became longer and this increase in the 40 s and 50 s was two times greater in men than in women. This finding was accompanied by a deterioration in HbA1c levels. In subjects aged youngerthan 40 years(n = 32929), HbA1c levels were inversely and linearly correlated with sleep duration in both sexes. However, in subjects aged 40 years or older(n = 42543), HbA1c levels showed a non-linear relationship against sleep duration with a nadir at 7 h. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that in younger subjects, short durations of sleep(≤ 5 h and 6 h) were positively associated with prediabetes(both P < 0.001), but a long duration of sleep(≥ 8 h) was inversely associated with prediabetes(P < 0.001). These associations remained significant after adjustment for relevant confounders, including age, sex, and work duration per day(ORs = 1.20, 95%CI: 1.05-1.37, P < 0.001; ORs = 1.12, 95%CI: 1.02-1.24, P < 0.05; and ORs = 0.84, 95%CI: 0.72-0.99, P < 0.05, respectively). In contrast, in older subjects, besides an association of prediabetes with a short duration of sleep(≤ 5 h)(ORs = 1.12, 95%CI: 1.03-1.21, P < 0.01), diabetes was significant

This paper,which aims to increment the vocabulary of an existing thesaurus using hyponymy relations,focuses on an agricultural thesaurus called *** main goal is to acquire AGROVOC-qualified candidates from the hyponymy relations of legal texts and *** propose a pattern-based approach to hyponymy relation *** experimental result showed that 222 and 868 candidates are extracted from statutory sentences with 67.1%precision and tables with 37.0%precision,respectively.

Removal experiments of phenol, aniline, 2,4-dichlorophenol, nonylphenol and bisphenol A （BPA） using Spirodela polyrrhiza- bacterial associations revealed that all compounds but BPA underwent accelerated removal. The mechanisms differed depending on the substrates. It was found that S. polyrrhiza has a great ability to release phenolic compound-rich root exudates, and the exudates seem to stimulate bacterial degradation of a variety of aromatic compounds.

Aim： To understand the biological functions of the ectoplasmic specializations between Sertoli cells and maturing spermatids in seminiferous epithelia. Methods： In order to disrupt the function of the ectoplasmic specializations, nectin-2, which is expressed at the specialization, was neutralized with anti-nectin-2 antibody micro-injected into the lumen of the mouse seminiferous tubule. Anti-nectin-3 antibody was also micro-injected into the lumen in order to neutralize nectin-3, which is expressed at the specialization. Results： The actin filaments at the specialization disappeared, and exfoliation of maturing spermatids was observed by electron microscopy. Conclusion： Nectin-2 was neutralized by anti-nectin-2 antibody and nectin-3 was neutralized by anti-nectin-3 antibody, respectively. Inactivated nectin-2 and nectin-3 disrupted the nectin-afadin-actin system, and finally the actin filaments disappeared. As a result, the specialization lost the holding function and detachment of spermatids was observed. One of the functions of the specialization seems to be to hold maturing spermatids until spermiation.
