Background:There is mounting evidence that regular physical activity is an important prerequisite for healthy cognitive ***,the finding that almost one-third of the adult population does not reach the recommended level of regular physical activity calls for further public health *** this context,digital and home-based physical training interventions might be a promising alternative to center-based intervention ***,this systematic review aimed to summarize the current state of the literature on the effects of digital and home-based physical training interventions on adult cognitive ***:In this pre-registered systematic review(PROSPERO;ID:CRD42022320031),5 electronic databases(Pubmed,Web of Science,Psyclnfo,SPORTDiscus,and Cochrane Library)were searched by 2 independent researchers(FH and PT)to identify eligible studies investigating the effects of digital and home-based physical training interventions on cognitive performance in *** systematic literature search yielded 8258 records(extra17 records from other sources),of which 27 controlled trials were considered *** reviewers(FH and PT)independently extracted data and assessed the risk of bias using a modified version of the Tool for the assEssment of Study qualiTy and reporting in EXercise(TESTEX scale).Results:Of the 27 reviewed studies,15 reported positive effects on cognitive and motor-cognitive outcomes(i.e.,performance improvements in measures of executive functions,working memory,and choice stepping reaction test),and a considerable heterogeneity concerning study-related,population-related,and intervention-related characteristics was noticed.A more detailed analysis suggests that,in particular,interventions using online classes and technology-based exercise devices(i.e.,step-based exergames)can improve cognitive performance in healthy older *** one-half of the reviewed studies were rated as having a high risk of bias with respect

Liver transplantation as an alternative for the treatment of neuroendocrine liver metastasis: Appraisal of the current evidence

Background:Liver transplantation(LT)for neuroendocrine liver metastases(NELm)is still in *** comparing LT with liver resection(LR)for NELm are scarce,as patient selection is heterogeneous and experience is *** goal of this review was to provide a critical analysis of the evidence on LT versus LR in the treatment of *** sources:A scoping literature search on LT and LR for NELm was performed with Pubmed,including English articles up to march ***:International guidelines recommend LR for NELm in resectable,well-differentiated tumors in the absence of extrahepatic metastatic disease with superior results of LR compared to systemic or liver-directed *** liver surgery has extended resectability criteria whilst entailing increased perioperative risk and short disease-free *** highly selected patients(based on the milan criteria)with unresectable NELm,oncologic results of LT are *** factors include tumor biology(g1/g2)and burden,waiting time for LT,patient age and extrahepatic *** on low-level evi-dence,LT for low-grade NELm within the milan criteria resulted in improved disease-free survival and overall survival compared to *** benefits of LT were lost in patients beyond the milan ***:With adherence to strict selection criteria especially tumor biology,LT for NELm is becoming a valuable option providing oncologic benefits compared to *** evidence suggests even stricter selection criteria with regard to tumor biology.

Application of shortened heat treatment cycles on A356 automotive brake calipers with respective globular and dendritic microstructures

Since the automotive industry has many possible applications for semi-solid metal (SSm)-high-pressure die casting (HPDC) parts, the newly developed heat treatment cycles, as well as the traditional heat treatment cycles, were applied to A356 brake calipers cast using a LK DCC630 HPDC *** hardness measurements at a cross section of the brake calipers were performed, indicating that similar values can be obtained when using the significantly shorter heat treatment ***, the typical tensile properties that can be obtained for SSm-HPDC A356 brake calipers are compared with those manufactured by gravity die *** indicate that the differences in microstructures (globular or dendritic) do not have a noteworthy effect on the heat treatment *** implies that the short heat treatment cycles originally developed for globular SSm-HPDC A356 castings can be successfully applied to dendritic liquid A356 castings too.

measurement of the pion form factor for m_(ππ)～2 between 0.1 and 0.85 geV^2 with the KLOE detector

The KLOE experiment at the φ-factory DAФPNE has measured the pion form factor in the range between 0.1 〈 mππ^2 〈 0.85 geV^2 using events taken at √s = 1 geV with a photon emitted at large polar angles in the initial state. This measurement extends the mππ^2 region covered by KLOE ISR measurements of the pion form factor down to the two pion production threshold. The value obtained in this measurement of the dipion contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment of △αμ^ππ= （478.5±2-0stat±4.8syst±2.9theo）·10^-10 further confirms the discrepancy between the Standard model evaluation for αμ and the experimental value measured by the （g-2） collaboration at BNL.

Development of a Long-Term Operational Optimization model for a Building Energy System Supplied by a geothermal Field

In order to reduce energy consumption and CO_(2) emissions in the building sector, more and more renewable energy sources are integrated into energy systems. Especially geothermal fields combined with heat pumps are able to supply buildings with heat and cold at low carbon emissions. However, using geothermal fields as heat and cold source influences the ground temperature. Consequently, the ground temperature can change dramatically over a building’s lifetime, leading to less efficient operation of the energy system. Therefore, a sustainable operation is required to ensure the long-term efficiency of geothermal fields. In this paper, we develop an optimization model to derive operating strategies for an efficient long-term operation of a building energy system coupled to a geothermal field. The investigated energy system is the main building of the *** Energy Research Center in Aachen, germany, which includes a heat pump, two boilers, a combined heat, and power unit, a glycol cooler, and a geothermal field with 41 probes. For each component, we develop energy-based sub-models, which are connected to form the overall system. The geothermal field is modeled by using a g-functions approach as well as a simplified resistance-capacitance approach. To achieve short computing times and realize an optimization horizon of several years, the optimization problem is formulated as mixed-integer linear programming(mILP). The developed model is optimized regarding two different objectives: the minimization of energy costs and the minimization of long-term temperature changes in the ground. Conclusions for an efficient and sustainable operation of the field, especially for the cooling supply, can be derived from the optimization results. It is shown that a state of equilibrium should be aimed to achieve an energy-efficient operation, in which the temperature of the field is close to the initial ground temperature.

Focused ion beam(FIB)processing with low-energy ions has become a standard technique for the manipulation of *** underlying ion beam effects that deviate from conventional high-energy ion irradiation of bulk systems are considered today;however,ion channeling with its consequence of significant deeper penetration depth has been only theoretically investigated in this *** present here an experimental approach to determine the channeling of low-energy ions in crystalline nanoparticles by measuring the sputter yield derived from scanning electron microscopy(SEm)images taken after irradiation under various incident ion *** maps of 30 and 20 keV ga+ions in Ag nanocubes have been identified and fit well with the ***,channeling has a significant impact on the transport of energetic ions in crystals due to the large critical angle at low ion energies,thus being relevant for any ***,the obtained sputter yield clearly differs from amorphous materials;therefore,it is recommended not to rely only on,e.g.,ion distribution depths predicted by standard monte-Carlo(mC)algorithms for amorphous materials.

In-hospital outcomes and readmission in older adults treated with percutaneous coronary intervention for stable ischemic heart disease

Background Percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)for stable ischemic heart disease(SIHD)in older adults requires a metic-ulous assessment of procedural risks and benefits,but contemporary data on outcomes in this population is ***,we examined the risk of near-term readmission,bleeding,and mortality in high-risk cohort of older adults undergoing inpatient PCI for *** We analyzed the National Readmissions Database from 2017 to 2018 to identify index hospitalizations in which PCI was performed for *** were stratified into those≥75 years old(older adults)and thosemary outcome was 90-day *** outcomes included in-hospital mortality,hospital length of stay(LOS),and total hospital *** A total of 74,516 patients underwent inpatient PCI for SIHD,of whom 24,075 were older *** adult patients had higher odds of in-hospital mortality(OR=2.00,95%CI:1.68-2.38),intracranial hemorrhage(OR=2.03,95%CI:1.24-3.34),and gastrointestinal hemorrhage(OR=1.72,95%CI:1.43-2.07)during index hospitalization,with longer LOS and in-hospital *** adults also experienced a higher hazard of 90-day readmission for any cause(HR=1.61,95%CI:1.57-1.66)and car-diovascular causes(HR=1.84,95%CI:1.77-1.91).CONCLUSION Older adults undergoing inpatient PCI for SIHD were at increased risk for in-hospital mortality,periprocedural morbidities,higher cost,and readmissions compared with younger *** these differences may improve shared decision-making for patients with SIHD being considered for PCI.
