This paper proposes a fast and decentralized solution methodology for the robust operation of multi-area integrated electricity-gas systems(M-IEGSs).A deterministic reformulation is obtained for the two-stage robust model by applying the linear decision rule based electrical reserve utilization scheme as well as regulating the distributed gas storages.Two linear approximations are developed for the nonconvex Weymouth equation in the gas network to determine the gas flow directions.The penalty convex-concave procedure(P-CCP)is then adopted to refine a feasible local optimum for the nonconvex model with an acceleration strategy.The decentralized decision-making is enabled by the alternating direction multipliers method(ADMM).The convergence as well as computation performance of the overall solution procedure can be guaranteed as only convex optimizations are solved.Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods as well as the benefits of the proposed convex programing based solution procedure.

This review offers an overview of the latest developments in metal-covalent organic framework(MCOF)and covalent metal-organic framework(CMOF)materials,whose construction entails a combination of reversible coordination and covalent bonding adapted from metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)and covalent organic frameworks(COFs),respectively.With an emphasis on the MCOF and CMOF structures,this review surveys their building blocks and topologies.Specifically,the frameworks are classified based on the dimensions of their components(building blocks),namely,discrete building blocks and one-dimensional infinite building blocks.For the first category,the materials are further divided into collections of two-and three-dimensional networks based on their topologies.For the second category,the recently emerging MCOFs with woven structures are covered.Finally,the state-of-the-art in MCOF and CMOF chemistry has been laid out for promising avenues in future developments.

This study aimed to exploit a new virtual block method to spare normal lung tissue in VMAT planning for patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer(LA-NSCLC).The previous method was used to manually restrict the angle of the beam passing through,which ignored the location and shape of large targets that varied between different slices and did not block the beamlets precisely.Unlike the previous method,this new virtual block method was used to block the beamlets when necessary by closing the multi-leaf collimator(MLC)at prerequisite angles.The algorithm for closing the MLC depended on the thickness of the beamlets passing through the lungs and avoided only the entrance radiation beamlet.Moreover,this block can be automatically contoured.A retrospective study was performed to compare the VMAT plans with and without the virtual block method for 17 LANSCLC patients,named the block plan(B-plan)/non-block plan(N-plan).All cases were selected in this study because of the large tumor size and unmet dose constraints of the lungs.In addition to the maximum dose constraint for the virtual block,B-plans adopted identical optimization parameters to N-plans for each patient.These two types of plans were compared in terms of dosimetric indices and plan scores.The results were statistically analyzed using the Wilcoxon nonparametric signed-rank test.B-plans have advantages in the following dosimetric metrics that have statistical significance(pbility(NTCP)of total lungs;(2)reductions in V_(5)/V_(10)for the contralateral lung;(3)decrease in Dmean/V_(40)of the heart;(4)decrease in esophagus V_(40);(5)reductions in Dmean,V_(5)/V_(10) of normal tissue.B-plans(82.51±7.07)achieved higher-quality scores than N-plans(80.74±7.22).The new virtual block spared the lungs as well as other normal structures in VMAT planning for LA-NSCLC.Thus,the block method may decrease the risk of radiation-related toxicity in patients.

The inhomogeneous microstructure of the Ni-based superalloys used for turbine disks was an intolerable defect for the mechanical performance.The effects of the distribution ofγ'precipitate,forging temperature,and strain level on the microstructure evolution of GH4730 alloy were investigated by EBSD during hot deformation.The results showed that the heterogeneous factor peaked at the transition temperature from the single-phase to the double-phase region.The coupling effect of heat and stress led to the heterogeneous precipitation and distribution ofγ'phase during the transition region,which was the main reason for the formation of inhomogeneous microstructures.The coherentγ'phases of approximately 0.3μm were diffusely distributed inside the large grains,increasing the grain strength,making recrystallization refinement difficult,and thus forming large unrecrystallized grains.The incoherentγ'phases with a size of approximately 1.1μm located at the grain boundaries and pinned the grain boundaries,and thus the accumulated strain at the grain boundaries caused the occurrence of discontinuous dynamic recrystallization and promoted continuous refinement of the grains.The microstructure evolution of new Ni-based superalloys during hot forging was focused,and the formation mechanism of inhomogeneous microstructure and control measures was explained.A theoretical basis for improving the microstructure homogeneity of the new cast and wrought superalloys was provided.

Amphoteric polymer can be used as retanning agent in leather manufacture. It is particularly useful in chrome-free tanning systems since it can regulate the charge properties of chrome-free leather and enhance the fixation of anionic post-tanning chemicals in leather. However, the aggregation and precipitation of amphoteric polymer retanning agents around the isoelectric point (pI) hinder their wide application. Herein, we synthesized five amphoteric acrylic polymers (AAPs) by free radical copolymerization with acrylic acid and five different cationic acrylic monomers. The effect of cationic monomer structure on the aggregation behavior of AAPs was investigated. The aggregation of AAPs in aqueous solution showed pH and concentration dependence. Light scattering analysis showed that Poly (AA-co-MAPTAC) and Poly (AA-co-DMAPMA) were in the shape of coiled linear flexible chains with small particle size (Rg 7.6 nm and 14.8 nm, respectively) near the pI. However, Poly (AA-co-DAC), Poly (AA-co-DMC) and Poly (AA-co- DMAEMA) were in the shape of hollow spheres and exhibited serious aggregation. Quantum chemical calculations suggested that the amide groups in the cationic monomers MAPTAC and DMAPMA enhanced the nucleophilicity of AAPs. Thus the corresponding AAPs could carry a large number of cationic charges to slow their aggregation when the pH just climbed over the pI. The results are expected to provide theoretical reference for the synthesis and widespread application of AAPs.

Effect of retanning on the thermal stability of leather is eliciting increasing attention. However, the relationship between the hydrophilicity of retanning agents and the heat resistance of leather and the corresponding mechanism remain unclear. Herein, phenolic formaldehyde syntans (PFSs) were selected as models to explore the effect of the hydrophilicity of retanning agents on the thermal stability of retanned leather. The thermal stability of leather was closely correlated to the hydrophilic group content (sulfonation degree) of PFSs. As the sulfonation degree increased, the water absorption rate of PFSs and their retanned leathers decreased, whereas the thermal stability of leather increased. Molecular dynamics simulation results proved that the introduction of PFSs could reduce the binding ability of collagen molecules with water and thus decreased the water molecules around the PFS-treated collagen. These results may provide guidance for the tanners to select retanning agents reasonably to improve the thermal stability of leather.

BACKGROUND Per-oral endoscopic myotomy(POEM)is emerging as a prefer treatment option for pediatric achalasia.However,data are limited on the long-term efficacy of POEM in children and adolescents with achalasia.AIM To evaluate the safety and long-term efficacy of POEM for pediatric patients with achalasia and compare those outcomes with adult patients.METHODS This retrospective cohort study was conducted in patients with achalasia who underwent POEM.Patients aged under 18 years were included in the pediatric group;patients aged between 18 to 65 years who underwent POEM in the same period were assigned to the control group.For investigation of long-term followup,the pediatric group were matched with patients from the control group in a 1:1 ratio.The procedure-related parameters,adverse events,clinical success,gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)after POEM,and quality of life(QoL)were evaluated.RESULTS From January 2012 to March 2020,POEM was performed in 1025 patients aged under 65 years old(48 in the pediatric group,1025 in the control group).No significant differences were observed in the occurrence of POEM complications between the two groups(14.6%vs 14.6%;P=0.99).Among the 34 pediatric patients(70.8%)who underwent follow-up for 5.7 years(range 2.6-10.6 years),clinical success was achieved in 35 patients(35/36;97.2%).No differences were observed in post-POEM GERD occurrence(17.6%vs 35.3%;P=0.10).QoL was significantly improved in both groups after POEM.CONCLUSION POEM is safe and effective for pediatric patients with achalasia.It can achieve significant symptoms relief and improve QoL.

Background:Long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)actin filament-associated protein 1 antisense RNA 1(AFAP1-AS1)functions as a competing endogenous RNA to regulate target genes expression by sponging microRNAs(miRs)to play cancer-promoting roles in cancer stem cells.However,the regulatory mechanism of AFAP1-AS1 in cervical cancer(CC)stem cells is unknown.The present study aimed to provide a new therapeutic target for the clinical treatment of CC.Methods:Hyaluronic acid receptor cluster of differentiation 44 variant exon 6(CD44v6)(+)CC cells were isolated by flow cytometry(FCM).Small interfering RNAs of AFAP1-AS1(siAFAP1-AS1)were transfected into the(CD44v6)(+)cells.The levels of AFAP1-AS1 were measured by quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR).Sphere formation assay,cell cycle analysis,and Western blotting were used to detect the effect of siAFAP1-AS1.RNA pull-down and luciferase reporter assay were used to verify the relationship between miR-27b-3p and AFAP1-AS1 or vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-C.Results:CD44v6(+)CCcells had remarkable stemness and a high level ofAFAP1-AS1.However,AFAP1-AS1knockdownwithsiAFAP1-AS1suppressed the cell cycle transitionofG(1)/S phase and inhibited self-renewal ofCD44v6(+)CCcells,the levels of the stemnessmarkers octamer-binding transcription factor 4(OCT4),osteopontin(OPN),and cluster of differentiation 133(CD133),and the epithelialmesenchymal transition(EMT)-related proteins Twist1,matrix metalloprotease(MMP)-9,and VEGF-C.In the mechanism study,miR-27b-3p/VEGF-C signaling was demonstrated to be a key downstream of AFAP1-AS1 in the CD44v6(+)CC cells.Conclusions:LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 knockdown inhibits the CC cell stemness by upregulating miR-27b-3p to suppress VEGF-C.
