magnesium oxysulfate(mOS)whisker is considered as a promising inorganic material recently attracting a great attention for being used as a reinforcing filler for polymer composites due to high aspect ratio and extremely-low bulk *** this study,the mOS was treated with 3-methacryloyloxypropyl-trimethoxy silane(mPS)via sol-gel condensation reactions,which successfully allowed melt mixing with polypropylene(PP)up to 30 wt%of *** tensile strength at yield and modulus of the mOS/PP composites were substantially increased by 50.8%and 362%,respectively,when compared with the pristine *** a novel finding,the flame retardancy of mOS was proved by identifying water evolution at elevated temperatures giving out 9 wt%of water in 250-320℃and 14 wt%in 350-420℃in two *** work demonstrated that the mOS could be an excellent filler for PP not only increasing the mechanical properties in a great extent but also imposing flame retarding capability.

Assessment of disease activity by fecal immunochemical test in ulcerative colitis

AIm To evaluate the efficacy of quantitative fecal immunochemical test(FIT) as biomarker of disease activity in ulcerative colitis(UC).mETHODS Between February 2013 and November 2014, a total of 82 FIT results, obtained in conjunction with colonoscopies, were retrospectivelyevaluated for 63 patients with UC. The efficacy of FIT for evaluation of disease activity was compared to colonoscopic findings. Quantitative fecal blood with automated equipment examined from collected feces. Endoscopic disease severity were assessed using the mayo endoscopic subscore(mES) classification. The extent of disease were classified by proctitis(E1), left sided colitis(E2), and extensive colitis(E3). Clinical activity were subgrouped by remission or *** All of 21 patients with mES 0 had negative FIT(mL), but 22 patients with mES 2 or 3 had a mean FIT of > 134.89 ng/m L. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value(PPV), negative predictive value(NPV) and accuracy of negative FIT about mucosal healing were 73.33%, 81.82%, 91.49%, 51.43% and 73.17%, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV and accuracy of predictive value of positive FIT(cutoff value > 100 ng/mL) about active disease status were 45.45%, 93.33%, 71.43%, 82.35%and 26.83%, respectively. Among patients with clinical remission, FIT was negative in 31(81.6%) of 38 cases, with a mean fecal hemoglobin concentration of 6.12 ng/mL(range, negative to 80.9 ng/mL) for this group of patients. Among patients with clinical active disease, FIT was negative in 16(36.4%) out of 44 cases, with a mean fecal hemoglobin concentration > 167.4 ng/mL for this group of patients. We investigate the effect of ion irradiation on mgB_(2) thin films with small grains of approximately 122 nm and 140 *** flux pinning by grain boundaries is insignificant in the pristine mgB_(2) films due to good inter-grain connectivity,but is significantly improved after 120-keV mn-ion *** scaling behavior of the flux pinning force density for the ion-irradiated mgB_(2) thin films with nanoscale grains demonstrates the predominance of pinning by grain boundaries,in contrast to the single-crystalline mgB_(2) films where normal point pinning was dominant after low-energy ion *** results suggest that irradiation-induced defects can accumulate near the grain boundaries in metallic mgB_(2) superconductors.

The study of exotic structure of hadrons is fully achieved when reaction dynamics of the associated hadron productions is well understood. We employ as the standard mechanism the effective Lagrangian method and investigate several physical observables within the framework. The parameters are constrained by microscopic description of hadrons. We discuss photoproductions of kaon associated with the ground state A（1116） and its resonances A（1405） and A（1520）. In the former example we emphasize the meson cloud effect which significantly renormalizes the phenomenological parameters, while in the latter we discuss the features of the standard method. Finally we discuss briefly the N（1535） for the study of chiral symmetry of baryons. production of ηπ associated with the nucleon resonance

Objective: To investigate the effect of Gymnema sylvestre extract(GS) on initial anti-obesity, liver injury, and glucose homeostasis induced by a high-fat diet(HFD). methods: The dry powder of GS was extracted with methanol, and gymnemic acid was identified by high performance liquid chromatography as deacyl gymnemic acid. male C57BL/6J mice that fed on either a normal diet, normal diet containing 1 g/kg GS(CON+GS) HFD, or HFD containing 1.0 g/kg GS(HFD+GS) for 4 weeks were used to test the initial anti-obesity effect of GS. Body weight gain and food intake, and serum levels about lipid and liver injury markers were measured. Histopathology of adipose tissue and liver stained with hematoxylin and eosin(H&E) and oil-red O were analyzed. After 4 weeks of GS extract feeding, intraperitoneal glucose tolerance test(IPGTT) was performed. Results: The methanol extracts of GS exerted significant anti-obesity effects in HFD+GS group. They decreased body weight gain, a lower food and energy efficiency ratio, and showed lower serum levels of total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low-density lipoprotein(LDL)-cholesterol, very-low density lipoprotein(VLDL)-cholesterol and leptin compared with the HFD group. The decreases of abdominal as well as epididymal fat weight and adipocyte hypertrophy, lipid droplets in liver, and serum levels of aspartate aminotransferase(AST) and alanine transaminase(ALT) were also observed. The CON+GS group showed an effect of glucose homeostasis compared to the CON group. Conclusions: This study shows that GS provide the possibility as a key role in an initial anti-obesity effects feeding with a HFD.

Stable Vertical Takeoff of an Insect-mimicking Flapping-Wing System Without Guide Implementing Inherent Pitching Stability

We briefly summarized how to design and fabricate an insect-mimicking flapping-wing system and demonstrate how to implement inherent pitching stability for stable vertical takeoff. The effect of relative locations of the Center of Gravity （CG） and the mean Aerodynamic Center （AC） on vertical flight was theoretically examined through static force balance considera- tion. We conducted a series of vertical takeoff tests in which the location of the mean AC was determined using an unsteady Blade Element Theory （BET） previously developed by the authors. Sequential images were captured during the takeoff tests using a high-speed camera. The results demonstrated that inherent pitching stability for vertical takeoff can be achieved by controlling the relative position between the CG and the mean AC of the flapping system.

A versatile use of a sulfur self-doped biochar derived from Camellia japonica(camellia)flowers is demonstrated as a multifunctional catalyst for overall water splitting and a *** native sulfur content in the camellia flower facilitates in situ self-doping of sulfur,which highly activates the camellia-driven biochar(SA-Came)as a multifunctional catalyst with the enhanced electron-transfer ability and long-term *** water splitting,an SA-Came-based electrode is highly stable and shows reaction activities in both hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions,with overpotentials of 154 and 362 mV at 10 mA cm^(−2),*** supercapacitors,SA-Came achieves a specific capacitance of 125.42 F g^(−1)at 2 A g^(−1)and high cyclic stability in a three-electrode system in a 1 m KOH *** demonstrated a high energy density of 34.54 Wh kg^(−1)at a power density of 1600 W kg^(−1)as a symmetric hybrid supercapacitor device with a wide working potential range of 0-1.6 V.

Exposure of whole body vibration(WBV)influences performance,comfort,and long term health risks of tractor ***,measurement and evaluation of WBV parameters should be carried out to find probable effects on the health of tractor *** this study,a system was designed to measure the WBV of agricultural tractor operators and evaluated the hazard risks on operator’s body according to the ISO standards,and implementation of the WBV test in the official testing station was also suggested.A tri-axial accelerometer was employed to measure vibrations transmitted to the seated operator body as a whole through the supporting surface of the buttock on four typical farm roads under different *** vector sum A(8)exposures on the rough tracks(earthen and grassland roads)exceeded the action limits of 0.5 m/s2 at a 10.9 km/h forward speed and reached to the action limit value at a 16.0 km/h forward speed on the concrete *** vector sum of VDV(8)exposures did not exceed the action limits of 9.1 m/s1.75 and was greater on the grassland *** vector sum Sed(8)exposures values exceeded the moderate probability of an adverse health limit of 0.5 mPa on all farm roads at high forward speeds and exceeded the high probability of an adverse health limit of 0.8 mPa on asphalt,concrete,and grassland roads which should be lower than the exposure limit values as suggested by the ISO and EC *** WBV evaluation procedure should be considered for implementation at the official tractor test station,which would response to domestic and international tractor test regulations and improve the market competitiveness.

Porous titanium(Ti)scaffolds have been extensively utilized as bone substitute scaffolds due to their superior biocompatibility and excellent mechanical ***,naturally formed TiO2 on the surface limits fast *** biomolecules have been widely utilized to overcome this issue;however,homogeneous porous Ti scaffolds could not simultaneously deliver multiple biomolecules that have different release *** this study,functionally graded porous Ti scaffolds(FGPTs)with dense inner and porous outer parts were fabricated using a two-body combination and densification *** with growth factor(BmP-2)and antibiotics(TCH)exhibited suitable mechanical properties as bone substituting material and presented good structural *** release of BmP-2 was considerably prolonged,whereas the release of TCH was comparable to that of homogenous porous titanium scaffolds(control group).The osteogenic differentiation obtained using FGPTs was maintained due to the prolonged release of *** antimicrobial properties of these scaffolds were verified using *** in terms of prior release *** addition,various candidates for graded porous Ti scaffolds with altered pore characteristics were presented.
