Estimated prevalence and viral transmissibility in subjects with asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infections in Wuhan,China

The role of subjects with asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection in the current pandemic is *** on two different approaches to estimate the culminative attack rate(seroprevalence of antibodies against SARSCoV-2,and a four compartment mathematical model)and the reported number of patients with COVID-19,the ratio of asymptomatic versus symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection was estimated to be 7(95%CI:2.8–12.4)in Wuhan,Hubei,China,the first epicenter of this pandemic,which has settled with no new *** with detailed recording of the contact sources in a cohort of patients,and applying the estimations to an established mathematical model,the viral transmissibility of the subjects with asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection is around 10%of that of the symptomatic patients(95%CI:7.6%–12.3%).Public health measures/policies should address this important pool of infectious source in combat against this viral pandemic.

The elucidation of the selective catalytic reduction mechanisms over state-of-the-art metal-promoted zeolites is essential for nitric oxides removal in automobile and stationary source *** this work,H/ZSM-5 catalysts modified with transition metals,including copper,manganese,and nickel,were prepared by using an incipient wetness impregnation method and were evaluated for the selective reduction of nitric oxides with *** indicate that copper/ZSM-5 exhibits the highest catalytic activity,with>90%nitric oxide conversion at a broad operation temperature window(221–445◦C).The nitric oxide conversion profiles of nickel/ZSM-5 shows two peaks that correspond to weak activity among the catalysts;the low-temperature peak(290◦C)was induced by nickel clusters dispersed on the ZSM-5 surface,while the high-temperature peak(460◦C)was assigned to the bulk nickel *** size of granular nickel monoxide crystallites with an exposed(202)plane is 2–30 nm,as confirmed by Scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,and Transmission electron microscope ***-programmed reductions with hydrogen results testified that the copper and nickel cations,as the main species contributing to selective catalytic reduction,were reduced via Cu^(2+)/Cu^(+)→Cu^(0) and Ni^(2+)→Ni^(0) for copper/ZSM-5 and nickel/ZSM-5,respectively,while for the manganese/ZSM5,the Mn3+species in manganese clusters were reduced to Mn^(2+) by ***,temperatureprogrammed desorption coupled with mass spectrometer(TPD-MS)and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS)were comprehensively used to reveal the relationship between zeolite structure and catalysts’properties for improving selective catalytic *** results confirm that the ammonia is adsorbed and activated on both Brønsted and Lewis acid *** nitrous oxide desorbs in two stages during nitric oxide-TPD-MS measurements,corresponding to the desorption of nitric

Solanum lycopersicum‘Heinz 1706’is a pioneer model cultivar for tomato research,whose whole genome sequence valuable for genomics studies is ***,a genetic transformation procedure for this cultivar has not yet been ***,various genome editing technologies such as transfection of clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated(Cas)ribonucleoprotein complexes into cells are in the *** the Cas9-expressing genotype possessing a reference genome can simplify the verification of an off-target effect,resolve the economic cost of Cas9 endonuclease preparation,and avoid the complex assembly process together with single-guide RNA(sgRNA)in the transfection ***,this study was designed to generate Cas9-expressing‘Heinz 1706’lines by establishing an Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation(ATMT)***,we report a rapid and reproducible transformation procedure for‘Heinz 1706’by finetuning various factors:*** strain,pre-culture and co-culture durations,a proper combination of phytohormones at each step,supplementation of acetosyringone,and shooting/rooting ***,through eluding subculture and simultaneously inducing shoot elongation and rooting from leaf cluster,we achieved a short duration of three months for recovering the transgenic plants expressing *** presence of the Cas9 gene and its stable expression were confirmed by PCR and qRT-PCR analyses,and the Cas9 gene integrated into the T_(0) plant genome was stably transmitted to T_(1) ***,we anticipate that our procedure appears to ease the conventional ATMT in‘Heinz 1706’,and the created Cas9-expressing‘Heinz 1706’lines are ultimately useful in gene editing via unilateral transfection of sgRNA into the protoplasts.

In this study, we developed a three-stage catalyst-adsorbent reactor for the catalytic hydrolysis of CF4. Each stage is composed of a catalyst bed followed by an adsorbent bed using Ca（OH）2 to remove HF. The three stages are connected in series to enhance the hydrolysis of CF4 and eliminate a scrubber to dissolve HF in water at the same time. With a 10 wt-% Ce/AlaO3 catalyst prepared by the incipient wetness method using boehmite and a granular calcium hydroxide as an adsorbent, the CF4 conversion in our proposed reactor was 7%-23% higher than that in a conventional single-bed catalytic reactor in the temperature range of 923-1023 K. In addition, experimental and numerical simulation （Aspen HYSYS） results showed a reasonable trend of increased CF4 conversion with the adsorbent added and these results can be used as a useful design guideline for our newly proposed multistage reactor system.

To investigate the clinicopathological variables in early gastric cancer (EGC) patients in relation to differentiation discrepancy. METHODSThe data of 265 specimens from 240 patients with EGC, who had undergone radical operation at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital from 2010 to 2015, were retrospectively analyzed. We evaluated clinical, endoscopic, and histopathological data according to histological discrepancy. RESULTSClinically significant discrepancy rate showed the difference in differentiated type (well and moderately differentiated) and undifferentiated type (poorly differentiated and signet ring cell) between endoscopic biopsies and postoperative specimens was 9.4% (25/265). There were no differences in tumor location, size, gross pattern, and number of biopsies. Specimens having histological discrepancy showed more submucosal invasion (72.0% vs 49.6%, P = 0.033) and lymph node involvement (24.0% vs 7.9%, P = 0.009) than specimens having non-discrepancy. The rate of a positive epidermal growth factor receptor status was higher in specimens having discrepancy than in specimens having non-discrepancy (81.0% vs 55.4%, P = 0.035). CONCLUSIONThe discordance of histologic differentiation is associated with higher submucosal invasion and lymph node metastases in EGC. Patients have histological discrepancy may require additional surgical treatments.

AIM:To evaluate the long-term effect and safety of focal laser photocoagulation treatment in eyes with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy(PCV).METHODS:Medical records of 13 eyes of 13 patients with PCV were followed-up for more than 2 y after focal laser photocoagulation *** patients were diagnosed with PCV using indocyanine green angiography,and eyes with other comorbid ocular diseases were *** measurement outcomes of the study were the post-treatment regression and recurrence of polyps,complications,and changes in visual *** t-test was performed to compare visual outcome before and after the ***:The mean age of the 13 patients was 70.2±5.5 y,and the follow-up period was 72.3±31.0(range,25-118)*** eyes had juxtafoveal polyps and 10 eyes had extrafoveal *** the 13 eyes,9 eyes(69.2%)had regression of polyps 1.7±1.2(range,0.9-4)mo after focal laser *** eyes(55.6%)showed recurrence of polyps during the follow-up periods,and the recurrence period was 12.8±18.9(range,1.9-48)*** subretinal hemorrhage occurred in two eyes(15.4%)27 and 72 d after laser treatment,*** were no statistically significant differences in visual acuities at baseline;1,2,3 y post-treatment(all P>0.05);and last follow-up(0.63±0.5,0.73±0.70,0.67±0.57,0.75±0.7,and 0.95±0.8 log MAR,respectively).CONCLUSION:Focal laser photocoagulation is beneficial for early regression of polyps in eyes with PCV and does not result in significant submacular hemorrhage during the long-term ***,it can be primarily considered in eyes with PCV with extrafoveal or juxtafoveal polyps to regress risky polyps as well as to maintain visual acuity without serious hemorrhagic complications.
