Aging is the leading risk factor for neurodegenerative diseases and oxidative stress involved in the pathophysiology of these diseases. These changes increase during menopausal condition in females when the level of estradiol is decreased. The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of tachykinin neuropeptide, Neurokinin B (NKB) and Amyloid beta fragment Aβ (25 -?35) on 17β estradiol (E2) treated aging female rat synaptosomes of different age groups. Aging brain functions were assayed by measuring the activities of antioxidant enzymes—superoxide dismutase (SOD) and monoamine oxidase (MAO) with neuropeptides. An in-vitro incubation of Aβ (25 -?35) in E2 treated brain synaptosomes showed toxic effects on all the parameters. However, NKB and NKB combined with Aβ (25 35) showed stimulating effects in E2 treated rat brain synaptosomes. In the present study, an increase in activity of SOD and decrease in the level of MAO, in the presence of NKB and combined NKB and Aβ in E2 treated brain synaptosomes of aging rats. This study elucidates that treatment of NKB and Aβ with E2 incombination exerts more protective influence than their individual application, against excitotoxicity in age related changes.

The brain experiences structural, molecular and functional alterations during aging. In aging brain tissue, the oxidative stress increases due to decreased activity of antioxidant enzymes and increased oxidative stress leading to neurodegeneration associated with excitotoxicity. In the present study, we observed the effect of tachykinin neuropeptide Neurokinin B (NKB) and amyloid beta fragment Aβ (25 -?35) on the activity of Acetylcholine esterase (AChE) and Lipid peroxidation (LPO) in brains of 17β estradiol (E2) treated aging female rat synaptosomes of different age groups. An in-vitro incubation of E2 treated brain synaptosomes with Aβ (25 -?35) showed toxic effects on all the parameters. The treatment of NKB and combined NKB and Aβ (25 -?35) increased the AChE enzyme activity and decreased the level of LPO in E2 treated aging rats. The treatment of NKB and combined NKB and Aβ (25 - 35) in a concentration dependent manner reversed the effects of aging and Aβ (25 -?35) on AChE and LPO. The present finding suggests that E2 along with NKB reverse aging and Aβ (25 -?35) induced toxicity as well as AChE and LPO levels. The results of the current study showed a possible beneficial role of NKB with E2 inthe age related neurological diseases.

Aim: To analyze the role of available health technologies and techniques in reducing the number of women dying during pregnancy and childbirth. Background: Health condition of women during pregnancy and childbirth is very sensitive. During this period, proper and timely care plays an important role in reducing maternal mortality. Design: Whitte more and Knal’s framework for integrative reviews was followed in the review. PUBMED/MEDLINE, CINHAL and COCHRANE were searched for published studies between 2008 and 2015. Studies included were systematic reviews, randomized control trials, prospective cohort study, literature review and descriptive studies. Methods: 28 articles were selected to be included in the review. An integrative review approach was followed to analyze data and draw conclusions. Screening of titles and abstracts along with data extraction was completed by two authors independently. Study quality is not reported because of the methodological difficulties. Data synthesis consists of writing descriptive summaries and thematic analysis of the key findings in the included articles. Results: The included studies were based on health technologies and techniques including different devices and tools, medication and drugs, massage techniques, immersion in water, intervention radiology, simulations and training for the health professional. Conclusion: There are numerous health technologies and techniques which are relatively simple to develop, effective to use and safe to apply with no adverse effects. These include simulations and training programs, educational and awareness programs, decision support tools and information systems. Besides these, there are technologies and techniques which show promising results with no or very little adverse effects. These include Active management of the third stage of labour, use of magnesium sulphate, uterine balloon tamponade, wearable cardiac defibrillator and non-pneumatic anti-shock garment. Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is an uncommon ANCA associated vasculitic disorder characterized by systemic necrotizing vasculitis of small vessels occurring exclusively among patients with bronchial asthma and tissue eosinophilia. Familial EGPA is extremely rare. Only two case reports have been published so far. We present a Saudi family with 3 cases of EGPA and almost three-fourths of family members affected by asthma. We explored genetic basis of EGPA in this family and found that genes were mutated in four affected siblings suggesting genetic involvement in susceptibility to EGPA.

The Na+ - K+ ATPase is an enzyme responsible for the active transport of Na+ and K+ in most eukaryotic cells. The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of Tachykinin neuropeptide, Neurokinin B (NKB) and Amyloid beta fragment Aβ (25 - 35) on 17β estradiol (E2) treated aging female rat brain synaptosomes of different age groups, by assaying Na+ - K+ ATPase enzyme activity. An in vitro incubation of isolated synaptosomes with Aβ (25 - 35) showed toxic effects while NKB showed stimulating effect on the Na+ - K+ ATPase activity, and the combined NKB + Aβ (25 - 35) incubations showed a partial effect as compared to the Aβ (25 - 35) alone. To understand whether E2 affects the expression of Na+ - K+ ATPase molecules, we examined the expression of Na+ - K+ ATPase subunit α1 and β2 in E2 treated aging female rat brain synaptosomes. The enzyme was quantified by SDS PAGE in control and E2 treated rat brain. We observed that the expression of α1 and β2 Na+ - K+ ATPase molecules increased and reversed to a normal level in E2 treated synaptosomes. These results confirmed that E2 increased turnover of Na+ - K+ ATPase molecules in aging rat brain. The present findings also suggest a possible role of NKB with E2 in the age related changes in the brain.

Psychological cognition is an important aspect in human psychology and management. This article is aimed to look at interpersonal emotional management interpersonal emotion management as a theoretical important indicator of job satisfaction. The main discussion is on how to predict employees’ job satisfaction through the implementation of interpersonal emotion management strategies and the main source of research is review of existing literature. This review addresses the gap in the literature by reviewing the role of interpersonal emotional management on followers’ job performance. This review finds the relationship between interpersonal emotional management which consists of four dimensions: circumstance adjustment,attentional placement,cognitive change,modulation of emotional response and job satisfaction. Overall,this literature review contributes to the interpersonal emotion management and job satisfaction literatures by providing meaningful management implications to the organizations.

Information about effectiveness of a wastewater treatment plant is vital in ensuring the quality of water discharged into water bodies and the environment in general meet set *** this study,the performance of a wastewater treatment plant located at the Export Processing Zone(EPZ)along River Athi in Machakos County,Kenya was assessed because the final effluent from the treatment plant is released into the river where water is used *** of the plant was assessed through the reduction percentage of pollutants between influent and effluent during the dry and wet *** of water were collected from the following points ***,outflow pool,outlet and along the *** samples were analyzed for heavy metals,Total Dissolved Solids(TDS),Total Suspended Solids(TSS),Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD),Biological Oxygen Demand(BOD),organic nitrogen,phosphate,color,temperature,pH,and total *** resulting data was compared with the established *** methodologies of laboratory analysis were employed as per Kenyan regulations of 2006 on waste water treatment and *** the results,the waste water treatment plant was not effective in reducing nitrates,phosphates,TDS,TSS,color,and heavy metals ***,lead,selenium,copper and *** inefficiency was more pronounced in rain ***(-2.04%),phosphates(-66%),mercury(-48%),lead(-48%),selenium(-2.29%)and copper(-9.75%)were high in the effluent after treatment process during the rains than in the ***,the treatment plant was effective in reducing Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD)and Biological Oxygen Demand(BOD).Some parameters like pH,conductivity,temperature,color and TSS were within allowable values described by Kenyan and International standards for effluent discharge into public *** study recommends expansion or re-designing of the treatment plant and better monitoring of the sources or types of wastewaters received at the plant for efficie
