The rela.ionship between student gender a.d exa.ina.ion of medica. knowledge a.d clinica. competence ha. been a.sessed by a.number of studies from western countries with controversia. results. The a.m of this study wa. to investiga.e if gender would ma.e a.difference on the performa.ce of a.a. medica. students in the fina. certifying exa.ina.ion in surgery. Methods: This a.cross-sectiona. study which wa. ca.ried out a. Depa.tment of Surgery, University of Da.ma., Sa.di a.a.ia.over 3 yea.s. The scores in ea.h section a.d the tota. score of the fina. certifying exa.ina.ion of surgery were recorded for a.l sixth yea. students between 2008 a.d 2011. Differences between the scores of the fema.e a.d ma.e students in the written test a.d subjective exa.ina.ions were a.sessed. Results: Six hundred a.d twenty students were involved in this study. Three hundred a.d fifty were ma.e a.d 270 were fema.e. Overa.l scores revea.ed tha. fema.e medica. students scored significa.tly better with lower fa.lure ra.e compa.ed to their ma.e collea.ues. Fema.e students received significa.tly better scores tha. ma.e in subjective tests. However, there wa. no significa.t difference between groups in written exa.ina.ion. Conclusion: There wa. no significa.t difference between ma.e a.d fema.e students in the written exa.ina.ion scores. However, fema.e students performed better in subjective eva.ua.ions. Further studies a.e wa.ra.ted to revea. the rea.ons behind this difference.

This pa.er exa.ines directors＇ perceptions of the three ma.n roles： monitoring, service, a.d stra.egic, which provide tools for critica.ly understa.ding how the boa.d a.ds the va.ue in moving the orga.iza.ion towa.ds more CSR pra.tices. The sta.eholder theory is used to distinguish the influence of the three ma.n roles on the a.option of CSR pra.tices. Prima.y da.a.were collected for this resea.ch by conducting structured questionna.res with a.sa.ple of 461 directors from Sa.di listed compa.ies for study purpose. The results show tha. a. a.propria.e mix of directors＇ roles a.d the development of sound boa.d monitoring a.d service roles a.e the most crucia. determina.ts of CSR a.option in Sa.di listed compa.ies. a. the exta.t corpora.e governa.ce a.d CSR litera.ures do not provide a.clea. perspective with contra.ictory outcomes a.out boa.d roles in influencing CSR pra.tices, the origina.ity of this resea.ch is its contribution by eva.ua.ing the directors＇ perceptions of developing a.direct rela.ionship between the boa.d roles a.d the a.option of CSR pra.tices. Most existing on-dema.d mobile a.-hoc network routing protocols continue using a.route until a.link brea.s. During the route re-construction, pa.kets ca. be dropped, which will ca.se significa.t throughput degra.a.ion. When two nodes a.e moving out of their tra.smission ra.ge the link will brea.. This thesis introduces the Pa.kets Received Time (PRT) for predicting the link sta.e, tha. is, if a.pa.ticula. node is soon to go out of tra.smission ra.ge. The PRT a.gorithm sends a. error messa.e to the sending node to re-esta.lish a.new route to the destina.ion node or repa.r the old *** Prediction a.gorithm together with PRT a.proa.h enha.ces the performa.ce of the existing rea.tive on-dema.d a.-hoc network protocols. The PRT a.gorithm wa. implemented with a. a.-hoc On-dema.d Dista.ce Vector (a.DV) protocol a.d a.Dyna.ic Source Routing (DSR) protocol. The new a.proa.h is compa.ed with the origina. a.DV a.d (DSR) in both CBR a.d TCP tra.fics using va.ious scena.ios.
