Biomolecular self-assembly has lately emerged as an intriguing method for creating stable gas-liquid dis-persions with unique functional *** this work,protein-metal coordination complexes were designed as the stabilizer for generating ultrastable fire-fighting foam and creating interfacial architec-tures that were actively switched between"rigid"and"mobile"interfacial states of liquid films in re-sponse to changes in pH and bulk solution compositions(metal ions or alkyl polyglycosides).The re-flected light interferometric technique was used to check interfacial states,and the foaming kinetics and rheological response of aqueous solution and liquid foam were investigated by dynamic surface tension tests and oscillatory rheology *** results showed that liquid foams with mobile films with lower yield limits had a faster spreading rate to cover the burning oil,liquid foams with semi-rigid films can-not extinguish fires due to interfacial instability,and the enhanced rheology of the foam with rigid films established a robust and impenetrable barrier to effectively suppress fuel evaporation and combustion.A new correlation between interfacial properties and the fire-fighting performance of foam was proposed,which showed that the fire-extinguishing time of foam could be well correlated by the interfacial states or film lifetime rather than classical thermodynamics entry,spreading,and bridging coefficients(ESB co-efficients).

The lower-mobility parallel mechanism has been widely used in the engineering field due to its numerous excellent ***,little work has been devoted to the actuator selection and placement that best satisfy the system's functional requirements during concept *** this study,a unified approach for synthesizing the actuation spaces of both rigid and flexure parallel mechanisms has been presented,and all possible combinations of inputs could be obtained,laying a theoretical foundation for the subsequent optimization of *** to the linear independence of actuation space and constraint space of the lower-mobility parallel mechanism,a general expression of actuation spaces in the format of screw systems is deduced,a unified synthesis process for the lower-mobility parallel mechanism is derived,and the efficiency of the method is validated with two selective examples based on screw *** study presents a theoretical framework for the input selection problems of parallel mechanisms,aiming to help designers select and place actuators in a correct and even optimal way after the configuration design.

The constraints on tidal deformability Λ of neutron stars were first extracted from GW170817 by LIGO and Virgo ***,the relationship between the radius R and tidal deformability Λ is still under *** an isospin-dependent parameterized equation of state(EOS),we study the relation between R andΛand its dependence on parameters of symmetry energy Esym and EOS of symmetric nuclear matter E0 when the mass is fixed at 1.4 M⊙,1.0 M⊙,and 1.8 M⊙.We find that,although the changes of high order parameters of Esym and E 0 can shift individual values of R1.4 and Λ1.4,the R1.4~Λ1.4 relation remains approximately at the same fitted *** slope L of the symmetry energy plays the dominant role in determining the R1.4~Λ1.4 *** investigating the mass dependence of the R~Λ relation,we find that the well fitted R~Λ relation for 1.4 M⊙ is broken for massive neutron stars.

In the mid-latitude regions of the Asian continent, Zhuye Lake is located in the northwest margin of the Asian monsoon, where the modem climate is affected by the Asian monsoon and Westerlies. In this study, we investi- gated the absolutely dated Holocene records in Zhuye Lake for detecting the Holocene climate cycles. Totally, 14 14C dates and 6 optically simulated luminescence （OSL） dates are obtained from the QTH01 and QTH02 sections. The proxies of grain-size, total organic carbon content （TOC）, C/N and 813C are used for wavelet analysis, and the results show obvious -256, -512 and -1024-year climate cycles, which are consistent with the Holocene millennial and cen- tennial scale climate cycles in the typical Asian summer monsoon domain. In different parts of the Zhuye Lake, the Holocene sediments show variable climate cycles that are affected by the lake basin topography. In the Zhuye Lake, the Holocene climate cycles are mainly correlated with the solar-related Asian summer monsoon variability and the North Atlantic ice-rafting events.

This work reveals the giant influence of spatial distribution of disordered surface roughness on electron tunneling,which is of immediate relevance to the magneto tunnel device and imaging *** calculate the spin-dependent tunneling in Fe/vacuum/Fe junction with disordered surface roughness with the first-principles non-equilibrium dynamical cluster *** is found that,at high concentration of surface roughness,different spatial distributions,including the clustered,anti-clustered and completely random roughness characterized by Warren–Cowley parameters,present large deviations from each other in all spin *** changing from clustered to anti-clustered roughness,it is surprising that spin polarization of tunneling in parallel configuration(PC)can be drastically reversed from-0.52 to 0.93,while complete randomness almost eliminates the *** is found that the anti-clustered roughness can dramatically quench the tunneling of minority spin in both PC and anti-PC by orders of magnitude,but significantly enhance the transmission of majority spin in PC(by as large as 40%)compared to the results of clustered roughness,presenting distinct influences of differently correlated surface *** spatial correlation of disordered surface roughness can significantly modify the surface resonance of Fe minority spin.

Auxin is a crucial phytohormone,controlling multiple aspects of plant growth and responses to the changing ***,the role of local auxin biosynthesis in specific developmental programs remains unknown in *** study characterized the rice tillering and small grain 1(tsg1)mutant,which has more tillers but a smaller panicle and grain size resulting from a reduction in endogenous ***1 encodes a tryptophan aminotransferase that is allelic to the FISH BONE(FIB)*** tsg1 mutant showed hypersensitivity to indole-3-acetic acid and the competitive inhibitor of aminotransferase,***1 knockout resulted in an increased tiller number but reduction in grain number and size,and decrease in ***,deletion of the TSG1 homologs OsTAR1,Os TARL1,and OsTARL2 caused no obvious changes,although the phenotype of the TSG1/Os TAR1 double mutant was intensified and infertile,suggesting gene redundancy in the rice tryptophan aminotransferase ***,TSG1 and Os TAR1,but not Os TARL1 and OsTARL2,displayed marked aminotransferase ***,subcellular localization was identified as the endoplasmic reticulum,while phylogenetic analysis revealed functional divergence of TSG1 and OsTAR1 from OsTARL1 and *** findings suggest that TSG1 dominates the tryptophan aminotransferase family,playing a prominent role in local auxin biosynthesis in rice.

AIM：To quantify the association between alcohol consumption and dry eye syndrome（DES） with Meta-analysis of published case-control and cross-sectional studies. METHODS： Three databases were screened for potentially eligible studies through Nov.30,2015,Pub Med,Web of Science,and the Cochrane *** ratios（ORs） were pooled with 95% confidence intervals（CIs） to evaluate the relationship between alcohol consumption and DES *** analyses were performed according to diagnostic criteria,publication year,sample size,alcohol intake and adjusted ***： A total of 10（9 case-control and 1 crosssectional） studies from 8 articles were included in this *** pooled results showed that alcohol consumption would significantly increase the risk of DES（OR 1.15,95% CI： 1.02-1.30）,and the results were independent of smoking,hypertension,diabetes and thyroid disease *** the results of subgroup analyses indicated an increased incidence of DES diagnosed by typical DES symptoms and positive objective tests together（OR 1.18,95% CI： 1.01-1.39）among drinkers,but not by typical DES symptoms alone（OR 1.11,95% CI： 0.94-1.32）.What＇s more,any drinkers were at higher risk of suffering from DES（OR 1.33,95%CI： 1.31-1.34）,while heavy drinkers not（OR 1.01,95% CI：0.86-1.18）.CONCLUSION： The present Meta-analysis suggests that alcohol consumption may be a significant risk factor for ***-induced peripheral neuropathymay falsely reduce the prevalence of DES among heavy *** prospective studies of alcohol consumption and DES risk are needed to confirm our results.

Research on Ice Crystal Growth Inside the Vitrified Vs55 with Magnetic Nanoparticles During Devitrification by Cryomicroscopy

The effect of magnetic nanoparticles(mNPs) on the devitrification crystallization of typical vitrification solution Vs55 was systematically explored by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and cryomicroscope system. The results show tliat,(i) the mNPs coated by both carboxylic acid(CA) and polyethylene glycol(PEG) had little effect on the glass transition temperature(rg) of Vs55, but had significant effect on the devitrification transition temperature(7a) and devitrification enthalpy(Hrd),(ii) in the range of the devitrification area(-85- 0℃), the MNPs coated by CA can significantly accelerate the devitrification of Vs55 as the isothermal temperatures and the cooling rates increased, and the ice growth rate was 0.37 p.m/s at the isothermal temperature of-85 ℃, and was about 2.19 gm/s at -75℃. Also, the ice growth rates rose from 1.72 pm/s to 3.54 pm/s when the cooling rates were increased from 2 ℃/min to 100 ℃/min(at the isothennal temperature of -75℃),(iii) magnetic nanoparticles coated by both PEG and CA could promote the devitrification of Vs55, for instance, without any crystal growth inside Vs55 at the isothermal temperature of-80℃, but 1.04 and 2.31 gm/s for adding magnetic nanoparticles coated by CA and PEG, respectively. Compared with the samples coated by CA, PEG promoted the devitrification of Vs55 in a much more positive way, and the ice growth rates were 0.62 and 6.25 μm/s at the isothermal temperatures of -85 and -75 ℃, respectively. Tliese results indicate that the surface coating of MNPs could significantly affect tlie recrystallization of Vs55, and further work should be conducted in the future research.

This paper investigates the medium access control （MAC） stratifies for communication systems. Since the signals are naturally superposed in public medium, we introduce physical layer network coding into MAC system and propose the physical layer network coded MAC （PNC-MAC） to utilize the collisions occurring in the MAC process. The implicit expressions of the throughput and average delay of the system operated with the new algorithm are derived in an iterative way. To show the performance of the algorithm, we compare the throughput and average delay induced by the new algorithm with current schemes via simulations. The results show that when operated with our proposed PNC-MAC, MAC system can achieve a larger throughput while the frames bear shorter average delay. Moreover, in many users case, the throughput increases slightly while the average delay ascends drastically.

The total variation （TV） minimization problem is widely studied in image restora- tion. Although many alternative methods have been proposed for its solution, the Newton method remains not usable for the primal formulation due to no convergence. A previous study by Chan, Zhou and Chan [15] considered a regularization parameter continuation idea to increase the domain of convergence of the Newton method with some success but no robust parameter selection schemes. In this paper, we consider a homotopy method for the same primal TV formulation and propose to use curve tracking to select the regular- ization parameter adaptively. It turns out that this idea helps to improve substantially the previous work in efficiently solving the TV Euler-Lagrange equation. The same idea is also considered for the two other methods as well as the deblurring problem, again with improvements obtained. Numerical experiments show that our new methods are robust and fast for image restoration, even for images with large noisy-to-signal *** subject classification： 65N06, 65B99.
