Recently,deep learning(DL)became one of the essential tools in bioinformatics.A modified convolutional neural network(Cnn)is employed in this paper for building an integratedmodel for deoxyribonucleic acid(DnA)*** any Cnn model,convolutional layers are used to extract features followed by max-pooling layers to reduce the dimensionality of features.A novel method based on downsampling and Cnns is introduced for feature *** downsampling is an improved form of the existing pooling layer to obtain better classification *** two-dimensional discrete transform(2D DT)and two-dimensional random projection(2D RP)methods are applied for *** convert the high-dimensional data to low-dimensional data and transform the data to the most significant feature ***,there are parameters which directly affect how a Cnn model is *** this paper,some issues concerned with the training of Cnns have been *** Cnns are examined by changing some hyperparameters such as the learning rate,size of minibatch,and the number of *** and assessment of the performance of Cnns are carried out on 16S rRnA bacterial *** results indicate that the utilization of a Cnn based on wavelet subsampling yields the best trade-off between processing time and accuracy with a learning rate equal to 0.0001,a size of minibatch equal to 64,and a number of epochs equal to 20.

The effect of cryotherapy application before versus after subcutaneous anticoagulant injection on pain intensity and hematoma formation: A quasi-experimental design

Objective:To investigate the effect of cryotherapy application before versus after subcutaneous anticoagulant injection(SCAI)on pain intensity and hematoma ***:A quasi-experimental design was utilized.A convenient sample of 105 adult patients,who were admitted to one of the biggest teaching hospitals in Cairo and receiving SCAI,were recruited over a period of six *** were randomly allocated into three groups:A Control group who received the routine hospital care(G1,n=35)and two intervention group who received cryotherapy for 5-min(G2:cryotherapy applied before SCAI,n=35;G3:cryotherapy applied after SCAI,n=35).Demographic and medical history data sheet,Pain numeric Rating Scale and Hematoma formation and Size Assessment Scale were used to collect the ***:The pain intensity among the patients in the two intervention groups(G2:Median=1.0;G3:Median=0)was significantly lower than in the control group(G1,Median=3.0).no significant difference was found between G2 and G3(P=0.728).Applying cryotherapy after SCAI(G3)decreased the frequency of hematoma formation(48hrs=31.4%&72hrs=28.5%)compared to applying it before injection(G2,100%)or not applying it(G1,100%).The size of hematoma in G3 was smaller than that in G2(Pnclusion:Applying cryotherapy significantly decreased pain intensity and hematoma occurrence/*** cryotherapy after injection was more effective in preventing hematoma formation and decreasing its size than applying it before injection.

Peristaltic Blood flow with Gold nanoparticles on a Carreau nanofluid through a non-Darcian Porous Medium

The article investigates the influences of a variable thermal conductivity and wall slip on a peristaltic motion of Carreau nanofluid. The model is concerned with heat and mass transfer inside asymmetric channel. The blood is considered as the base Carreau non-newtonian fluid and gold (Au) as nanoparticles stressed upon. The fronchiener effect of the non-Darcian medium is taken in consideration. The system is stressed upon a strong magnetic field and the Hall currents are completed. The problem is modulated mathematically by a system of non-linear partial differential equations which describe the fluid velocity, temperature and concentration. The system is reformulated under the approximation of long wavelength and low Reynolds number. It is solved on using multi-step differential transform method (Ms-DTM) as a semi-analytical method. A gold nanoparticle has increased the temperature distribution which is of great importance in destroying the cancer cells.

Trace Determination of Duloxetine HCl in formulation and Spiked Human Serum at a Carbon Paste Electrode

The electrochemical behavior of duloxetine HCl (***) at a carbon paste electrode (CPE) was achieved by cyclic voltammetry and a mechanism of its oxidation was reported and illustrated. A sensitive linear sweep and square-wave adsorptive anodic stripping voltammetry methods were described for trace determination of ***. Introduction: ***, n-methyl-3-(nap-thalen-1- yloxy)-3-(thiophene-2-yl) propan-1-amine hydrochloride is a selective serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SnRI) originally developed as an antidepressant and is currently recommended for maintenance treatment of major depressive disorder. Methods: Electrochemical behavior was studied using cyclic voltammetric method, and the analytical application was studied using linear sweep and square wave voltammetric methods. Solution pH has been measured by pH meter. Results: The process on the surface of carbon paste electrode was found to be irreversible and diffusion-controlled. The number of proton and electron transferred were calculated. Possible reaction mechanism taking place on the surface of electrode was proposed. Calibration plot constructed using square wave voltammetric technique was used for quantitative analysis in pharmaceutical and human serum samples. Limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were calculated. Conclusions: In the present work, we described the electrochemical behavior of *** drug. Two precise linear sweep and square wave adsorptive anodic stripping voltammetry methods have been described for its trace quantitation in pharmaceutical formulation and human serum. The method shows the development of a sensor for selective and sensitive determination of ***.

facile Preparation of Silver Halide nanoparticles for Biological Application and Waste Water Treatment

Highly efficient silver halide nanoparticles (AgX, X = Cl, Br nP’s) were successfully synthesized by facile and template-free direct-precipitation method using potassium chloride, potassium bromide and silver nitrate as reactive sources. The as-prepared AgX nP’s were characterized by fTIR, thermogravimetric analysis, XRD, EDX and HRTEM. The antimicrobial susceptibilities against two Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus) and four Gram-negative bacteria (Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, P. aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae) in addition to five fungi (Aspergillus flavus, A. carbonarus, Penicillium verrucosum, fusarium verticelloides and A. niger) were tested by the disk diffusion technique. The antibacterial and antifungal results suggest that the prepared AgX nP’s show high activity against the tested organisms compared to tetracycline and nystatin taken as standard drugs. As an application, the use of the prepared AgX nP’s as photo catalyst for the decontamination of malathion as VX chemical warfare agent (CWA) stimulant from water sample was extensively studied.

Can Ophthalmoscope Predict Silent Coronary Artery Disease in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus?

Background & Aim: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) and Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) share similar pathophysiological background of vascular damage. So we aimed to study the relationship between DR and silent CAD in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Subject & Methods: A cross sectional study was performed on 40 patients with T2DM from diabetic outpatient clinic in Ain Shams University Hospitals, Cairo, Egypt from June 2012 to December 2012. All patients were subjected to data collection, laboratory analysis and imaging studies. Patients with known CAD, abnormal resting or stress ECG, abnormal ejection fraction or segmental wall motion abnormalities, smoking history, hypertension, or abnormal lipid profile were excluded. Results: Mean age is 62.35 ± 1.38 years, 75% (n = 30) were females, 75% (n = 30) had DR, and 77.50% (n = 31) had positive Tc99 scan. There is a significant positive association between Tc99 scan and DR (p value = 0.029) as 86.7% of patients with DR had positive Tc99 scan. Resting and stress perfusion TC99 scan were significantly worse (91.77% vs 100%;86.48% vs 96.27%, p value = 0.008, 0.005 respectively) and microalbuminuria were significantly higher (207 ± 29.65 vs 36 ± 10.66 mg/dl, p value =n patients with DR. By binary logistic regression, DR was an independent predictor for CAD (OR was 16.377, 95% CI was 1.017 - 263.586, p value = 0.049) after adjustment of SBP and albuminuria. Conclusion: DR is an independent predictor of asymptomatic CAD even with normal stress ECG and echocardiography. Routine screening for CAD using Tc99 scan is recommended in patients with DR even if asymptomatic. More multi-centric prospective studies are needed to elucidate the effect of the degree of DR on CAD risk.

Background: Although non-specific, transabdominal bowel ultrasonography, in real time or in color Doppler;has been beneficial in evaluating the location, extent and activity of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Aim: To assess the potential role of bowel transabdominal bowel ultrasonography in the diagnosis and follow-up of IBD. Patients and Methods: A cohort of 30 adults histologically-proven active IBD patients;ulcerative colitis (UC) (n = 20), Crohn’s disease (CD) (n = 10) were prospectively assessed in addition to 20 non-IBD participants representing the control group. All participants underwent the full colonoscopy in addition to real time and color Doppler ultrasonography. Bowel wall thickness, peri-enteric changes, and hemodynamic changes in the portal vein and mesenteric arteries were recorded at initial enrollment and after complete remission in 10 IBD patients. Background: neuroblastoma (nB) is remarkable for its wide spectrum of clinical behavior and biological characteristics in relation to outcome. The use of aggressive therapy, including autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and the addition of isoretionin (cis-Retinoic Acid/cis-RA), has increased survival rates of patients with advanced disease. Methods: Pediatric 271 newly diagnosed high risk nB patients were prospectively enrolled into the study. Patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy of alternating cycles: [cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine (CAdO)] and [etoposide, carboplatin]. Intensification courses of “ICE” (ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide) regimen were administered to patients with bone marrow (BM) residual infiltration. Whenever safely feasible, complete surgical resection or debulking of the primary tumor was attempted for patients achieving partial response. Eligible patients underwent HSCT, while radiation therapy to the primary and metastatic sites, as well as maintenance with cis-RA was given for 6 months. Results: The median age of our patients was 2.8 years with male to female ratio of 1.65:1. At 4 years, the overall and event free survivals were 33.7% and 23.3% for the entire group under study, with significantly higher rates (42.7% and 35.6%, respectively) for HSCT patients (n = 94;p 0.001). The outcome was also significantly correlated with response to induction therapy, pathological subtype, as well as other variables. Conclusion: Myeloablative therapy followed by stem cell rescue is regarded as the most important goal of high risk nB treatment to improve survival till present. Each of consolidation HSCT, post induction disease status, as well as international neuroblastoma pathology classification (InPC) subtype was an independent predictive variable of survival. Tumor necrosis factor-α-G308A polymorphism is associated with liver pathological changes in hepatitis C virus patients

AIM To investigate the association of tumor necrosis factor alpha(Tnfα)-G308 A polymorphism with different liver pathological changes in treatment-na?ve Egyptian patients infected with hepatitis C virus(HCV) genotype *** This study included 180 subjects,composed of 120 treatment-na?ve chronic HCV patients with different fibrosis grades(f0-f4) and 60 healthy controls. The Tnfα-G308 A region was amplified by PCR and the different genotypes were detected by restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. The Tnfα protein was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The influence of different Tnfα-G308 A genotypes on Tnfα expression and liver disease progression were statistically analyzed. The OR and 95%CI were calculated to assess the relative risk *** Current data showed that the Tnfα-G308 A SnP frequency was significantly different between controls and HCV infected patients(P = 0.001). Both the AA genotype and A allele were significantly higher in late fibrosis patients(f2-f4,n = 60) than in early fibrosis patients(f0-f1,n = 60)(P = 0.05,0.04 respectively). Moreover,the GA or AA genotypes increased the Tnfα serum level greater than the GG genotype(P = 0.002). The results showed a clear association between severe liver pathological conditions(inflammation,steatosis and fibrosis) and(GA + AA) genotypes(P = 0.035,0.03,0.04 respectively). The stepwise logistic regression analysis showed that the Tnfα genotypes(GA + AA) were significantly associated with liver inflammation(OR = 3.776,95%CI: 1.399-10.194,P = 0.009),severe steatosis(OR = 4.49,95%CI: 1.441-14.0,P = 0.010) and fibrosis progression(OR = 2.84,95%CI: 1.080-7.472,P = 0.034). Also,the A allele was an independent risk factor for liver inflammation(P = 0.003),steatosis(P = 0.003) and fibrosis(P = 0.014).
