Quaternion algebra has been used to apply the fractional fourier transform(frfT)to color images in a comprehensive ***,the discrete fractional random transform(DfRNT)with adequate basic randomness remains to be *** paper presents a novel multistage privacy system for color medical images based on discrete quaternion fractional fourier transform(DQfrfT)watermarking and three-dimensional chaotic logistic map(3D-CLM)***,we describe quaternion DfRNT(QDfRNT),which generalizes DfRNT to handle quaternion signals effectively,and then use QDfRNT to perform color medical image adaptive *** efficiently evaluate QDfRNT,this study derives the relationship between the QDfRNT of a quaternion signal and the four components of the DfRNT ***,it uses the human vision system's(HVS)masking qualities of edge,texture,and color tone immediately from the color host image to adaptively modify the watermark strength for each block in the color medical image using the QDfRNT-based adaptive watermarking and support vector machine(SVM)*** limitations of watermark embedding are also explained to conserve watermarking ***,3D-CLM encryption is employed to improve the system's security and efficiency,allowing it to be used as a multistage privacy *** proposed security system is effective against many types of channel noise attacks,according to simulation results.

Since World Health Organization(WHO)has declared the Coronavirus disease(COVID-19)a global pandemic,the world has *** life’s f.elds and daily habits have moved to adapt to this new *** to WHO,the probability of such virus pandemics in the future is high,and recommends preparing for worse *** this end,this work provides a framework for monitoring,tracking,and fighting COVID-19 and future *** proposed framework deploys unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),e.g.;quadcopter and drone,integrated with artificial intelligence(AI)and Internet of Things(IoT)to monitor and fight *** consists of two main systems;AI/IoT for COVID-19 monitoring and drone-based IoT system for *** two systems are integrated with the IoT paradigm and the developed algorithms are implemented on distributed fog units connected to the IoT network and controlled by software-defined networking(SDN).The proposed work is built based on a thermal camera mounted in a face-shield,or on a helmet that can be used by people during *** detected images,thermal images,are processed by the developed AI algorithm that is built based on the convolutional neural network(CNN).The drone system can be called,by the IoT system connected to the helmet,once infected cases are *** drone is used for sterilizing the area that contains multiple infected *** proposed framework employs a single centralized SDN controller to control the network *** developed system is experimentally evaluated,and the results are *** indicate that the developed framework provides a novel,efficient scheme for monitoring and fighting COVID-19 and other future pandemics.

The effect of cryotherapy application before versus after subcutaneous anticoagulant injection on pain intensity and hematoma formation: A quasi-experimental design

Objective:To investigate the effect of cryotherapy application before versus after subcutaneous anticoagulant injection(SCAI)on pain intensity and hematoma ***:A quasi-experimental design was utilized.A convenient sample of 105 adult patients,who were admitted to one of the biggest teaching hospitals in Cairo and receiving SCAI,were recruited over a period of six *** were randomly allocated into three groups:A Control group who received the routine hospital care(G1,n=35)and two intervention group who received cryotherapy for 5-min(G2:cryotherapy applied before SCAI,n=35;G3:cryotherapy applied after SCAI,n=35).Demographic and medical history data sheet,Pain Numeric Rating Scale and Hematoma formation and Size Assessment Scale were used to collect the ***:The pain intensity among the patients in the two intervention groups(G2:Median=1.0;G3:Median=0)was significantly lower than in the control group(G1,Median=3.0).No significant difference was found between G2 and G3(P=0.728).Applying cryotherapy after SCAI(G3)decreased the frequency of hematoma formation(48hrs=31.4%&72hrs=28.5%)compared to applying it before injection(G2,100%)or not applying it(G1,100%).The size of hematoma in G3 was smaller than that in G2(Pficantly decreased pain intensity and hematoma occurrence/*** cryotherapy after injection was more effective in preventing hematoma formation and decreasing its size than applying it before injection.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of hydroxysafflor yellow A(HSYA)on thioacetamide-induced liver ***:Thioacetamide was administered to rats intraperitoneally in doses of 200 mg/kg twice a week for 12 ***-intoxicated rats were given silymarin(50 mg/kg)or HSYA(5 mg/kg)orally every day for 8 *** enzymes,fibrosis markers,histological changes as well as immunohistochemistry of TNf-α,IL-6,p21,α-SMA,and caspase-3 were *** effect of HSYA on HSC-T6 activation/proliferation and apoptosis was also determined in ***:HSYA decreased liver enzymes,TNf-α,IL-6,and p21 expressions,hepatic PDGf-B,TIMP-1,TGf-β1,and hydroxyproline levels,as well as fibrosis score(S2 vs.S4)compared to the thioacetamide *** also downregulatedα-SMA while increasing caspase-3 ***,at 500μg/mL,HSYA had only a slightly suppressive effect on HSC proliferation,with a 9.5%***,it significantly reduced TGf-β1,inhibitedα-SMA expression,induced caspase-3 expression,and promoted cell ***:HSYA may be a potential therapeutic agent for delaying and reversing the progression of liver *** research on HSYA at higher doses and for a longer period is warranted.

Tumor necrosis factor-α-G308A polymorphism is associated with liver pathological changes in hepatitis C virus patients

AIM To investigate the association of tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNfα)-G308 A polymorphism with different liver pathological changes in treatment-na?ve Egyptian patients infected with hepatitis C virus(HCV) genotype *** This study included 180 subjects,composed of 120 treatment-na?ve chronic HCV patients with different fibrosis grades(f0-f4) and 60 healthy controls. The TNfα-G308 A region was amplified by PCR and the different genotypes were detected by restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. The TNfα protein was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The influence of different TNfα-G308 A genotypes on TNfα expression and liver disease progression were statistically analyzed. The OR and 95%CI were calculated to assess the relative risk *** Current data showed that the TNfα-G308 A SNP frequency was significantly different between controls and HCV infected patients(P = 0.001). Both the AA genotype and A allele were significantly higher in late fibrosis patients(f2-f4,n = 60) than in early fibrosis patients(f0-f1,n = 60)(P = 0.05,0.04 respectively). Moreover,the GA or AA genotypes increased the TNfα serum level greater than the GG genotype(P = 0.002). The results showed a clear association between severe liver pathological conditions(inflammation,steatosis and fibrosis) and(GA + AA) genotypes(P = 0.035,0.03,0.04 respectively). The stepwise logistic regression analysis showed that the TNfα genotypes(GA + AA) were significantly associated with liver inflammation(OR = 3.776,95%CI: 1.399-10.194,P = 0.009),severe steatosis(OR = 4.49,95%CI: 1.441-14.0,P = 0.010) and fibrosis progression(OR = 2.84,95%CI: 1.080-7.472,P = 0.034). Also,the A allele was an independent risk factor for liver inflammation(P = 0.003),steatosis(P = 0.003) and fibrosis(P = 0.014). CONCLUSION TNfα SNP at nucleotide-308 represents an important genetic marker that can be used for the prognosis of different liver pathological changes in HCV infected

Objective:To investigate the antifibrotic role of rosmarinic acid(RA),a natural polyphenolic compound,on HSCs activation/proliferation and apoptosis in vitro and in vivo. Methods:The impact of RA on stellate cell line(HSC-T6) proliferation,activation and apoptosis was assessed along with its safety on primary hepatocytes. In vivo,rats were divided into:(i) normal;(ii) thioacetamide(TAA)-intoxicated rats for 12 weeks;(iii) TAA+silymarin or(iv) TAA+RA. At the end of experiment,liver functions,oxidative stress,inflammatory and profibrogenic markers,tissue inhibitor metalloproteinases type-1(TIMP-1) and hydroxyproline(HP) levels were evaluated. Additionally,liver histopathology and immunohistochemical examinations of alpha-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA),caspase-3 and proliferation cellular nuclear antigen(PCNA) were determined. Results:RA exhibited anti-proliferative effects on cultured HSCs in a time and concentration dependent manner showing an IC50 of 276 μg/mL and 171 μg/mL for 24 h and 48 h,respectively,with morphological reversion of activated stellate cell morphology to quiescent form. It significantly improved ALT,AST,oxidative stress markers and reduced TIMP-1,HP levels,inflammatory markers and fibrosis score(S1 vs S4). furthermore,reduction in α-SMA plus elevation in caspase-3 expressions of HSCs in vitro and in vivo associated with an inhibition in proliferation of damaged hepatocytes were recorded. Conclusions:RA impeded the progression of liver fibrosis through inhibition of HSCs activation/proliferation and induction of apoptosis with preservation of hepatic architecture.

Biometric security is a growing trend,as it supports the authentication of persons using conﬁdential biometric *** of the transmitted data in multi-media systems are susceptible to attacks,which affect the security of these *** systems provide sufﬁcient protection and privacy for *** recently-introduced cancellable biometric recognition systems have not been investigated in the presence of different types of *** addition,they have not been studied on different and large biometric *** point that deserves consideration is the hardware implementation of cancellable biometric recognition *** paper presents a suggested hybrid cancellable biometric recognition system based on a 3D chaotic *** rationale behind the utilization of the 3D chaotic cryptosystem is to guarantee strong encryption of biometric templates,and hence enhance the security and privacy of *** suggested cryptosystem adds signiﬁcant permutation and diffusion to the encrypted biometric *** introduce some sort of attack analysis in this paper to prove the robustness of the proposed cryptosystem against *** addition,a f.eld Programmable Gate Array(fPGA)implementation of the pro-posed system is *** obtained results with the proposed cryptosystem are compared with those of the traditional encryption schemes,such as Double Random Phase Encoding(DRPE)to reveal superiority,and hence high recogni-tion performance of the proposed cancellable biometric recognition *** obtained results prove that the proposed cryptosystem enhances the security and leads to better efﬁciency of the cancellable biometric recognition system in the presence of different types of attacks.
