In the last decade,micro-architected structures have gained significant attention in academia and industry for their lightweight,strong,and thermally efficient *** by biomimicry design,this paper presents a novel ribbed family of additively manufactured Micro-Architected Domes(MAD).The design incorporates tetrapod pyramid unit cells,golden ratio-based fractal patterns,Schoen’s Minimal Gyroid,and spherical *** study focuses on dome radius,height,and azimuth/elevation partitioning as input variables,with the main output being ribbed micro-cell *** relationships between unit-cells’diameter and input variables were established through problem-solving and numerical computations:linear dependency with the dome radius and hyperbolic dependency with the azimuth and elevation *** proposed design successfully adhered to the Surface-to-Volume ratio of Schoen’s Minimal Gyroid,achieving an average volume relative density of 2.5%,confirming its lightweight *** feasibility of the design was further supported by fabricating three specimens using Filament Fused *** research showcases the potential of biomimicry-inspired micro-architected structures,paving the way for innovative applications in various fields.

AIM: To assess the prevalence of colorectal neoplasms(adenomas, advanced adenomas and colorectal cancers) among Israeli military and commercial airline ***: Initial screening colonoscopy was performed on average-risk(no symptoms and no family history) airline pilots at the Integrated Cancer Prevention Center(ICPC) in the Tel-Aviv Medical Center. Visualized polyps were excised and sent for pathological examination. Advanced adenoma was defined as a lesion >10 mm in diameter, with high-grade dysplasia or villous histology. The results were compared with those of an age- and gender-matched random sample of healthy adults undergoing routine screening at the ***: There were 270 pilots(mean age 55.2 ± 7.4 years) and 1150 controls(mean age 55.7 ± 7.8 years). The prevalence of colorectal neoplasms was 15.9% among the pilots and 20.6% among the controls(P = 0.097, χ2 test). There were significantly more hyperplastic polyps among pilots(15.5% vs 9.4%, P = 0.004) and a trend towards fewer adenomas(14.8% vs 20.3% P = 0.06). The prevalence of advanced lesions among pilots and control groups was 5.9% and 4.7%, respectively(P = 0.49), and the prevalence of cancer was 0.7% and 0.69%, respectively(P = 0.93).CONCLUSION: There tends to be a lower colorectal adenoma, advanced adenoma and cancer prevalence but a higher hyperplastic polyp prevalence among pilots than the general population.

The outcomes of computational study of electronic, magnetic and optical spectra for A2BX6 (A = Rb;B = Tc, Pb, Pt, Sn, W, Ir, Ta, Sb, Te, Se, Mo, Mn, Ti, Zr and X = Cl, Br) materials have been proceeded utilizing Vanderbilt Ultra Soft Pseudo Potential (US-PP) process. The Rb2PbBr6 and Rb2PbCl6 are found to be a (Г-Г) semiconductors with energy gaps of 0.275 and 1.142 eV, respectively making them promising photovoltaic materials. The metallic behavior of the materials for Rb2BX6 (B = Tc, W, Ir, Ta, Mn, Sb, Mo) has been confirmed showing the attendance of conducting lineaments. The dielectric function is found to be large close to the ultraviolet districts (3.10 - 4.13 eV). The extinction coefficient of the Rb2BX6 has the ability to be used for implements. The band structures and density of states ensure the magnetic semiconductors’ nature of the Rb2Mn (Cl, Br)6 perovskites. The total calculated magnetic moment of Rb2MnCl6 and Rb2MnB6 is 3.00μβ. Advanced spintronic technology requires room-temperature ferromagnetism. The present work confirms that, bromine and chlorine-founded double perovskites are extremely attractive for photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices.

AIM To determine the prevalence of colorectal neoplasia in average risk persons 40-59 years of age in Israel and to compare the results with other populations. METHODS We reviewed the results of asymptomatic average-risk subjects, aged 40 to 59 years, undergoing their first screening colonoscopy between April 1994 and January 2014. The detection rates of adenoma, advanced adenoma(AA) and colorectal cancer(CRC) were determined in the 40's and 50's age groups by gender. The prevalence of lesions was compared between age groups. After meticulous review of the literature, these results were compared to published studies addressing the prevalence of colorectal neoplasia in similar patient groups, in a variety of geographical *** We included first screening colonoscopy results of 1750 individuals. The prevalence of adenomas, AA and CRC was 8.3%, 1.0% and 0.2% in the 40-49 age group and 13.7%, 2.4% and 0.2% in the 50-59 age group, respectively. Age-dependent differences in adenoma and AA rates were significant only among men(p < 0.005). Literature review disclosed 17 relevant studies. As expected, in both Asian and Western populations, the risks for overall adenoma and advanced adenoma was significantly higher in the 50's age group as compared to the 40's age group in a similar fashion. The result of the current study were similar to previous studies on Western populations. A substantially higher rate of adenoma, was observed in studies conducted among Asian populations in both age *** The higher rate of colorectal neoplasia in Asian populations requires further investigation and reconsideration as to the starting age of screening in that population.

In the medical and dental field, the importance and need for the study of materials and drugs for use as bone grafts or regeneration in injured areas due to the presence of fractures, infections or tumors that cause extensive loss of bone tissue is observed. Bone is a specialized, vascularized and dynamic connective tissue that changes throughout the life of the organism. When injured, it has a unique ability to regenerate and repair without the presence of scars, but in some situations, due to the size of the defect, the bone tissue does not regenerate completely. Thus, due to its importance, there is a great development in therapeutic approaches for the treatment of bone defects through studies that include autografts, allografts and artificial materials used alone or in association with bone grafts. Pharmaceuticals composed of biomaterials and osteogenic active substances have been extensively studied because they provide potential for tissue regeneration and new strategies for the treatment of bone defects. Statins work as specific inhibitors of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMG-CoAreductase). They represent efficient drugs in lowering cholesterol, as they reduce platelet aggregation and thrombus deposition;in addition, they promote angiogenesis, reduce the β-amyloid peptide related to Alzheimer’s disease and suppress the activation of T lymphocytes. Furthermore, these substances have been used in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and coronary artery disease. By inhibiting HMG-CoAreductase, statins not only inhibit cholesterol synthesis, but also exhibit several other beneficial pleiotropic effects. Therefore, there has been increasing interest in researching the effects of statins, including Simvastatin, on bone and osteometabolic diseases. Background Personal genetic predisposition and early life environmental factors are important for the development of childhood *** aimed to search whether egg,milk and mite sensitizations at 0–2 years old are risk factors for asthma symptoms at 9–11 years *** A total of 210 wheezer children who had specific immunoglobulin(Ig)E in 2010–2012 were included in the study(followed by pediatric allergy).Patients were divided into non-atopic(group 1,n=157)and atopic patients[groups 2–7,n=53(5 patients were in both group 4 and group 5)]based on *** the International Study of Asthma and Allergy in Childhood questionnaire,current wheeze(CW,2nd question),exercise wheezing(EW,7th question),and dry cough(DC,8th question)were ***,parental allergies,eczema at 0–2 years,current eosinophil percentage and total IgE were *** Eczema was observed as an important risk factor[CW:odds ratio(OR)=2.83,95%confidence interval(CI)=1.54–5.23,P≤0.001;EW:OR=2.71,95%CI=1.33–5.54,P=0.006;DC:OR=3.03,95%CI=1.47–6.25,P=0.003],whereas having no atopic sensitization at 0–2-year-old(group 1)was found as a significant protective factor for asthma at 9–11 years old(CW:OR=0.32,95%CI=0.15–0.70,P=0.004;EW:OR=0.21,95%CI 0.10–0.44,P≤0.001;DC:OR=0.25,95%CI=0.10–0.59,P=0.002).Conclusion Early personal eczema is a significant risk factor for the development of asthma symptoms at 9–11 years old,whereas not having an allergic sensitization at 0–2 years old(group 1)is an important protective factor.

Solar air heaters are at the centre of interest owing to their widespread use for various *** the study,thermal performance analysis of a solar air heater that can be easily produced from daily waste materials is *** system has a low-cost structure with both waste material use and a simple *** proposed system is tested under different climatic conditions,and the energetic and the exergetic performance figures are obtained for the first time in *** is observed from the experimental tests that the results are stable and coherent as well as in good accordance with the similar attempts in literature with some cost reductions and performance *** performance analyses indicate that the maximum energy efficiency of the system is about 21%,whereas the exergy efficiency is 1.8%.The energetic and exergetic outputs of the system are also determined to be 27 W and 3 W,respectively,which is promising.
