A substantial amount of Earth’s water is inadequate for human consumption while local demand is outstripping traditional supplies in many world regions;thereby,brackish and seawater treatment has become a *** investigation suggested a complete design of an RO-based desalination filter with a multilayer biomimetic *** study demonstrated a comprehensive method for experimentally fabricating a proprietary biomaterial-based multilayer nano-porous *** analysis revealed that Silk Nano-Fibril(SNF)and Hydroxyapatite(HAP)extracted from Bombyx Mori silkworm cocoons may be utilized to manufacture highly methodical multilayer membranes by incorporating protein-self-assembly and ***’s aquaporin layer containing lipid-bilayers has rapid water permeability and high efficacy at eliminating salt ions and *** 4µm thick SNF/HAP membrane showed a considerable decrease in salinity,with a salt rejection of 93.33%.The proposed membrane had a saline water permeability of 6.58 LMH/bar,almost 61.09%higher than conventional TFC *** barrier and spiral-wrapped filter architecture of the membrane enable low fouling and self-cleaning *** schematic filter design and biomimetic fabrication of the SNF/HAP membrane have formulated a conceptual framework that might direct to the broad-scale,low-cost RO water purification filters,increasing the efficiency of water desalination and boosting the effectiveness of water treatment technologies to reduce potable water scarcity.

Oscillator circuit has the significant role to always repeat the same signal at the output after certain time interval. In quantum computing, intensity and phase of light signal can be made oscillatory at the output of a quantum optical oscillator circuit. In this paper, we have implemented quantum optical tristate oscillator circuits based on tristate Pauli-X, Y and Z gates using phase and intensity encoding technique of light signal. Here, three different oscillator circuits are developed. The phase of light signal is chosen as the oscillating parameter in all proposed circuits. The truth tables and oscillating phase diagrams are also shown for each oscillator circuit in this paper. The operation of one of the oscillator circuits is simulated with MATLAB to prove its feasibility.

We consider the so-called Thomson problem which refers to finding the equilibrium distribution of a finite number of mutually repelling point charges on the surface of a sphere, but for the case where the sphere is replaced by a spheroid or ellipsoid. To get started, we first consider the problem in two dimensions, with point charges on circles (for which the equilibrium distribution is intuitively obvious) and ellipses. We then generalize the approach to the three-dimensional case of an ellipsoid. The method we use is to begin with a random distribution of charges on the surface and allow each point charge to move tangentially to the surface due to the sum of all Coulomb forces it feels from the other charges. Deriving the proper equations of motion requires using a projection operator to project the total force on each point charge onto the tangent plane of the surface. The position vectors then evolve and find their final equilibrium distribution naturally. For the case of ellipses and ellipsoids or spheroids, we find that multiple distinct equilibria are possible for certain numbers of charges, depending on the starting conditions. We characterize these based on their total potential energies. Some of the equilibria found turn out to represent local minima in the potential energy landscape, while others represent the global minimum. We devise a method based on comparing the moment-of-inertia tensors of the final configurations to distinguish them from one another.

In this work, we focus on the inverse problem of determining the parameters in a partial differential equation from given numerical solutions. For this purpose, we consider a modified Fisher’s equation that includes a relaxation time in relating the flux to the gradient of the density and an added cubic non-linearity. We show that such equations still possess traveling wave solutions by using standard methods for nonlinear dynamical systems in which fixed points in the phase plane are found and their stability characteristics are classified. A heteroclinic orbit in the phase plane connecting a saddle point to a node represents the traveling wave solution. We then design parameter estimation/discovery algorithms for this system including a few based on machine learning methods and compare their performance.

BACKGROUND:Studies looking at the effect of hospital teaching status on septic shock related in-hospital mortality are *** aim of this study was to examine the effect of hospital teaching status on mortality in septic shock patients in the United ***:This was a retrospective observational study,using the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample Database(released in 2018).All patients with septic shock were *** sample logistic regression was performed to assess the impact of hospital teaching status on patient ***:A total of 388,552 septic shock patients were included in the *** average age was 66.93 years and 51.7%were *** of the patients presented to metropolitan teaching hospitals(68.2%)and 31.8%presented to metropolitan non-teaching *** shock patients presenting to teaching hospitals were found to have a higher percentage of medical comorbidities,were more likely to be intubated and placed on mechanical ventilation(50.5%vs.46.9%)and had a longer average length of hospital stay(12.47 d vs.10.20 d).Septic shock patients presenting to teaching hospitals had greater odds of in-hospital mortality compared to those presenting to metropolitan non-teaching hospitals(adjusted odd ratio[OR]=1.295,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.256-1.335).CONCLUSION:Septic shock patients presenting to metropolitan teaching hospitals had significantly higher risks of mortality than those presenting to metropolitan non-teaching *** also had higher rates of intubation and mechanical ventilation as well as longer lengths of hospital stay than those in non-teaching hospitals.

This article addresses three large earthquake disasters in Iran: Tabas in 1978, Rudbar in 1990, and Bam in 2003. Lessons and 'Lessons Learned' from these three earthquake disasters were investigated together with their contributions over time towards earthquake disaster risk reduction in Iran. Many lessons from 1978 Tabas, 1990 Rudbar, and 2003 Bam did not become 'Lessons Learned' and they were identified again within the dramatic context of other earthquake disasters in various places of Iran. Both lessons and 'Lessons Learned' from Tabas, Rudbar, Bam,and other earthquake disasters in Iran require a sustainable long-term framework—an earthquake culture.

The main purpose of this paper is to study generalized derivations in rings with involution which behave like strong commutativity preserving mappings. In fact, we prove the following result： Let R be a noncommutative prime ring with involution of the second kind such that char（R） ≠ 2. If R admits a generalized derivation F ： R → R associated with a derivation d ： R → R such that [F（x）,F（x＊）] - [x,x＊] = 0 for all x ∈ R, then F（x）= x for all x ∈ R or F（x） = -x for all x ∈ R. Moreover, a related result is also obtained.
