Due to the fast development in electrical devices,which depend on converting AC power system from the grid to DC,those devices become more sensitive to power quality problems and they affected easily by small disturbances in the *** addition,people definition of power quality has changed through last *** do not just want electrical supply to be reliable,they also need their power supply to be highly compatible with their devices and do not cause any shut down to the *** most common power system disturbance is voltage sag(dip).Because industrial loads are the most common and sensitive load in power system,therefore their impacts of power system disturbance are simulated and *** thesis is a research work on impacts of induction motor load on voltage sag characterization caused by faults.A model was chosen to be simulated through DigSilent PowerFactory software and the output data was analyzed using mathworks matLab.A fault event happened with the induction motor plant is in its area of *** system was used to study the impacts in two ***,study the impacts of induction motor existence on voltage sag characterization and impact of voltage sag on induction motor slip,induced torque and power ***,study the impact of the quantity of induction motor load on voltage sag *** industrial system was simulated and assumed to have identical 7 production *** is also assumed that every line has the same mechanical ***,the number of production lines in the time of voltage sag was increased from 0 to *** every load number the voltage sag was simulated and it characterization was *** results of this simulation indicate that that duration and depth of voltage sag are severely increased by the existence of voltage *** the other hand,phase-shift and frequency are slightly affected by the voltage *** motor side,slip becomes higher after transient which means that the motor is operati

Uncertain eigenvalue analysis by the sparse grid stochastic collocation method

In this paper, the eigenvalue problem with multiple uncertain parameters is analyzed by the sparse grid stochastic collocation method. This method provides an interpolation approach to approximate eigenvalues and eigenvectors＇ functional dependencies on uncertain parame- ters. This method repetitively evaluates the deterministic solutions at the pre-selected nodal set to construct a high- dimensional interpolation formula of the result. Taking advantage of the smoothness of the solution in the uncer- tain space, the sparse grid collocation method can achieve a high order accuracy with a small nodal set. Compared with other sampling based methods, this method converges fast with the increase of the number of points. Some numerical examples with different dimensions are presented to demon- strate the accuracy and efficiency of the sparse grid stochastic collocation method.

Females Had a Worse T-Score at Lumbar Region and males Had a Worse T-Score at Femoral Region among Chronic Kidney Disease

Background: To evaluate bone-mineral-density-BmD determined by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry-DEXA and bone turnover markers in chronic-kidney-disease-CKD patients. method: An observational-clinical study of all patients who were scanned by DEXA-scan in 2018. all patients with low-bone-density or osteoporosis-based on World-Health-Organization-WHO definition were included. Results: 505 patients with abnormal-BmD, 87.3% were in early-stage CKD-stage I - II, 8.5% were in CKD-stage III - V and 4.2% did not have renal tests. 95 (18.8%) were male with a mean age of 57.0 years and 410 (81.2%) were females with a mean age of 55.8 years. Patients of ≥65 years had lower T-score than those who were younger than 65 years-old. Among CKD patients, those with late-CKD (stage III - V) had less BmD-measurements and lower T-score than those with early-CKD (stage I - II). A significant positive correlation exists between parathyroid hormone-PTH-level and the lower T-score. Female had a worse T-score at the lumbar-region whereas male had a worse T-score at the femoral-region. There was no significant difference between males and females for the T-score at hip-region. Conclusion: We observed a distribution of abnormal BmD among different age, sex and CKD groups. measurements of BmD by DEXA might be a useful test to diagnose osteoporosis in CKD patients. Femoral and total hip areas were more affected, however DEXA might not be able to detect osteoporosis in the lumbar area of CKD patients. T-scores are lower in patients with more severe CKD and lower in elderly patients. PTH level is associated proportionally to the degree of bone loss. Early intervention and proper management must be implemented early among CKD patients with multidisciplinary team approach strategy. more studies are needed to determine if DEXA techniques are enough to distinguish the quantity of bone loss between different stages of CKD.

Restricted fetal growth(RFg)is a leading contributor to perinatal mortality and has been associated with gestational exposure to air pollution,such as fine particulate matter(Pm_(2.5)),nitrogen dioxide(NO2),and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs).This study examines the association between trimester-specific and weekly means of air pollution throughout gestation and placental inflammatory markers at *** a prospective cohort study of 263 pregnant women in Rochester,NY,we measured interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)in placental tissue and estimated gestational exposure to Pm_(2.5)and NO_(2)using a high-resolution spatial-temporal *** to PAHs was estimated using urinary 1-hydroxypyrene(1-OHP)concentrations collected once per *** distributed lag models with a penalized spline function,each interquartile range(2.6μg/m^(3))increase in Pm_(2.5)concentration during gestational weeks 6−11 was associated with decreased placental IL-6 levels(−22.2%,95%CI:−39.0%,−0.64%).Using multiple linear regression models,each interquartile range increase of 1-OHP was associated with an increase in TNF-αin the first trimester(58.5%,95%CI:20.7%,74.2%),third trimester(22.9%,95%CI:0.04%,49.5%),and entire pregnancy(29.6%,95%CI:3.9%,60.6%).Our results suggest gestational exposure to air pollution may alter the inflammatory environment of the placenta at delivery.

Endometrial Thickness as a Predictor of Endometrial Hyperplasia in Infertile Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Background: Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) are at higher risk of developing endometrial hyperplasia (EH). This study determined the prevalence of EH among women with infertility due to PCOS and assessed the predictive value of endometrial thickness (ET) measurement by trans-vaginal scan (TVS). Study Type & Population: This was a prospective study on infertile women with and without PCOS in which clinical data, hormonal profile, ET and endometrial biopsy (EB) for histopathological examination were collected. methods: Thirty-seven women with PCOS and 23 women without PCOS presenting with infertility and/or abnormal uterine bleeding underwent TVS, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and EB. Results: The overall prevalence of EH was 23.3 % while in PCOS group: 18.3 %. The mean ET (14.8 mm) was significantly higher in patients with EH (t = -2.74, P value = 0.009). The lower value of ET among women with EH was 10 mm. A cut-off point of 9.5 mm was set. An ET of >9.5 mm had 92.9% sensitivity and 51.85% specificity for the presence of EH. Women with ET ≥ 9.5 mm were 1.28 times more at risk of EH than women with ET 9.5 mm. Women with oligomenorrhea and irregular cycles were 5.5 and 13.7 times more at risk of EH compared to those with regular cycles, respectively. ET was positively correlated with insulin resistance (r = 0.439, P = 0.007). Conclusion: ET ≥ 9.5 mm predicts EH in infertile women with PCOS, with a high degree of sensitivity and a moderate degree of specificity. In PCOS patients with oligomenorrhea or irregular cycles, the risk of EH is higher than women with regular cycles.

Superior and Inferior gastric Pouch Dilatation Post-Sleeve Surgery: Does Revision Work? A Systematic Review and Case Reports

Longitudinal sleeve gastrectomy (LSg) has become an acceptable option in the management of morbidly obese patients. Complications in the form of pouch dilatation may occur in post-sleeve surgery. However, revision sleeve gastrectomy procedures are effective in correcting such complications. The aim of this study was to systematically review all published cases that reported revision surgeries following the initial sleeve gastrectomy complicated by pouch dilatation. In addition, we are presenting two cases reported from our military/teaching hospital. A systematic literature search was conducted from English-language studies published from 2000 to 2014 from the following databases: Pubmed, CINAHL, mEDLINE, EmBASE, Clinical evidence, Dara, Scopus, Web of Sciences, TRIP, Health Technology Database, Cochrane library, and Psych INFO. A total of 5340 articles were identified in the initial search and 5339 articles were excluded based on the exclusion criteria. Only one case study met the inclusion criteria for this systematic review, involving two patients. also, we are reporting two cases with revision surgery performed for pouch dilatation post-sleeve surgery from our teaching hospital.?There was only one study that reported revision surgery as a management of gastric pouch dilatation post-sleeve surgery. Authors believe that the incidence of revision surgery for the management of pouch dilatation post-sleeve surgery is higher but underreported. This assumption may be valuable, especially because some surgeons consider pouch dilatation post-sleeve surgery a complication that arises due to surgical technique rather than the procedure itself;therefore, it is unreported.

Renal allograft Thrombosis in the Early Post Transplant Period

Renal allograft thrombosis involving either the renal artery or the veins is a well known entity in clinical practice. This complication of the renal transplant surgery is more common in the early part of the post transplant period and it is usually associated with acute antibody mediated rejection. This more commonly occurs in the paediatric renal transplant and also seems to have some relation to the duration of peritoneal dialysis pretransplant. However, the occurrence of graft thrombosis in isolation without clinical or histological graft rejection is not rare. We encountered a patient in whom the renal allograft thrombosis occurred after 6 weeks of commercial renal transplantation without any histological evidence of rejection.
