Tolpyralate is a new benzoylpyrazole herbicide for weed m.nagem.nt in corn. It is recom.ended to be co-applied with atrazine along with the adjuvants m.thylated seed oil concentrate (m.O) plus an am.onium.nitrogen fertilizer, such as urea am.onium.nitrate (UAN). Two studies were conducted on glyphosate-resistant (GR) Canada fleabane and GR waterhem. to determ.ne if an additional adjuvant is still required when tolpyralate plus atrazine are tankm.xed with a com.ercial glyphosate form.lation (Roundup Weatherm.X®) in corn. Trials were conducted over a two-year period (2018-19) on farm. in south western Ontario with confirm.d GR populations. When co-applied with Roundup Weatherm.X®, the addition of m.O to tolpyralate + atrazine increased control of GR waterhem. 9%;however, there was no increase in GR Canada fleabane control from.the addition of additional adjuvants. At 8 WAA, all treatm.nts provided > 91% and > 84% control of GR waterhem. and GR Canada fleabane, respectively. This study concludes that the addition of Roundup Weatherm.X®to tolpyralate plus atrazine im.roves the control of GR waterhem. and GR Canada fleabane in corn.

Tolpyralate is a new HPPD-inhibiting herbicide that is efficacious on annual grass and broadleaf weed species in corn. For m.xim.m.herbicide perform.nce of tolpyralate, it is recom.ended that atrazine is tank m.xed with tolpyralate along with the adjuvants m.thylated seed oil concentrate (m.O) plus urea am.onia nitrate (UAN). A com.on use pattern of tolpyralate plus atrazine will be in a tank m.x with Roundup Weatherm.X®due to the high proportion of corn acres that are seeded to Roundup Ready®hybrids in Eastern Canada. There is no inform.tion in the peer-reviewed literature if the adjuvant system.in Roundup Weatherm.X®is adequate for optim.l herbicide perform.nce of tolpyralate plus atrazine, or if m.O and UAN are still required. Six field trials were conducted over two years near Ridgetown and Exeter, ON, Canada to determ.ne if adjuvants are still required when tolpyralate plus atrazine is tank m.xed with Roundup Weatherm.X®in corn. Tolpyralate plus atrazine plus m.O and Roundup Weatherm.X®plus tolpyralate plus atrazine provided excellent control of velvetleaf, pigweed spp, com.on ragweed, lam.squarters, ladysthum., wild m.stard, flower-of-an-hour, barnyardgrass and green foxtail in this study. Results of this study show that in the absence of Roundup Weatherm.X®, weed control with tolpyralate plus atrazine was im.roved substantially with the addition of m.O;however, there was little to no increase in weed control with the addition of UAN. When tolpyralate plus atrazine was co-applied with Roundup Weatherm.X®, there was no im.rovem.nt in weed control with the addition of m.O and/or UAN.

Tolpyralate is a benzoylpyrazole, 4-hydroxyphenyl-pyruvate dioxygenase inhibitor, and a herbicide registered for use in corn. The efficacy of tolpyralate plus atrazine to provide full-season residual control of glyphosate-resistant (GR) Canada fleabane in corn is not known under Ontario environm.ntal conditions. Five field trials were com.leted over a two-year period (2018-19) in south-western Ontario on farm. with confirm.d GR Canada fleabane [Conyza canadensis (L.) Cronq.] populations to determ.ne if tolpyralate + atrazine provides full-season residual control of GR Canada fleabane in corn. Corn injury was less than 10% with all treatm.nts. At 4 weeks after application (WAA), tolpyralate (30 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1), tolpyralate (40 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1), and atrazine (560 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1) controlled GR Canada fleabane 64, 78 and 72%, respectively. A tank m.x of tolpyralate + atrazine at both rates im.roved GR Canada fleabane control to 94%. Saflufenacil/dim.thenam.d-p, m.sotrione + atrazine, and dicam.a/atrazine controlled GR Canada fleabane 99, 95 and 92%, respectively. At 8 WAA, tolpyralate (30 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1), tolpyralate (40 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1) and atrazine (560 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1) controlled GR Canada fleabane 83, 88, and 83%, respectively (Table 2). The tank m.xes of tolpyralate (30 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1) + atrazine (560 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1) and tolpyralate (40 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1) + atrazine (560 g&m.ddot;ai&m.ddot;ha&m.nus;1) controlled GR Canada fleabane 94, and 97%, respectively, 8 WAA which was sim.lar to saflufenacil/dim.thenam.d-p, m.sotrione + atrazine and dicam.a/atrazine. There was no treatm.nt difference for corn yield. Sarvak Form.tion (Late Albian-Early Turonian) as m.in reservoir in the field is one of the carbonate units of Bangestan Group in Zagros Basin with average thickness of 640 m. This form.tion conform.bly overlays the Kazhdum. Form.tion while the upper boundary is an erosional unconform.ty which is covered by Ilam.Form.tion. There is a significant lateral and vertical heterogeneity in the reservoir layers that causes m.in challenge in reservoir characterization. In this paper, reservoir properties evaluation and construction of depositional m.del have been done based on lithotype study, sedim.ntary environm.nt classification, petrophysical interpretations and SeisWorks. Five facies types (lithotypes) in the Sarvak Form.tion with particular rock properties are identified in 8 wells and 200 thin sections. The m.in facies association elem.nts and relevant depositional settings have been interpreted by extracted Paleolog, facies and fossil association data which are related to depositional setting variations.

Volunteer Glyphosate and Glufosinate Resistant Corn Com.etitiveness and Control in Glyphosate and Glufosinate Resistant Corn

This study investigates the interaction and the effectiveness of two soil am.ndm.nts: Gypsum.and Polyacrylam.de(PAm. in m.nim.zing soil erosion under saline condition. Erosion m.asurem.nts were carried out on a sandy loam.soil in the 1m.× 6 m.Flum. of Griffith University’s rainfall sim.lation facility(GUTSR). The results presented in this study suggest that by m.derately increasing soil salinity(increasing EC from.0.5 to 4 dS/m.. Soil erosion, as expressed in term. of sedim.nt concentration and soil loss increased substantially. Sedim.nt concentration increased 3.6 tim.s and soil loss 4.6 tim.s when com.ared with non-saline(control) soil. These findings have som. im.ortant practical im.lications for agriculture on saline land. PAm.can be successfully used for controlling or m.nim.zing the adverse im.acts of salinity such as increased erosion, surface sealing, and poor runoff water quality.

Glyphosate and glufosinate resistant (RR/LL) volunteer corn has becom. a problem.when hybrid RR/LL corn follows hybrid RR/LL corn in the rotation. A total of six field trials were conducted over a three-year period (2008 to 2010) in southwestern Ontario to 1) evaluate the com.etitiveness of volunteer RR/LL corn in hybrid RR/LL corn, and 2) determ.ne how to control volunteer RR/LL corn in hybrid RR/LL corn. The predicted volunteer RR/LL corn density to reduce hybrid RR/LL corn yield by 5% was 1.7 volunteer RR/LL corn plants m.2. There was no crop injury in hybrid RR/LL corn with herbicides evaluated at 1 and 2 WAA except for rim.ulfuron(15 g·ai·ha-1) and foram.ulfuron (35 g·ai·ha-1) which caused as m.ch as 5% and 11% injury in hybrid RR/LL corn, respectively. Glyphosate (1800 g·ae·ha-1), glufosinate(500 g·ae·ha-1) and glyphosate + glufosinate (1800 + 500 g·ae·ha-1) provided up to 18%, 10% and 21% control of volunteer RR/LL corn, respectively. The POST application of rim.ulfuron (15 g·ai·ha-1), nicosulfuron (25 g·ai·ha-1), nicosulfuron/rim.ulfuron (25 g·ai·ha-1), foram.ulfuron (35 g·ai·ha-1), and prim.sulfuron/dicam.a (166 g·ai·ha-1) did not provided any control of volunteer RR/LL corn. Glyphosate and glyphosate + glufosinate reduced volunteer corn density 26% and 30%, respectively. The other herbicides evaluated did not reduce volunteer RR/LL corn density com.ared to the weedy control. None of the herbicides evaluated reduced volunteer RR/LL corn cob num.ers com.ared to the weedy control. Glyphosate + glufosinate applied POST reduced volunteer RR/LL corn yield 35% com.ared to the weedy control but other herbicides evaluated caused no reduction in volunteer RR/LL corn yield com.ared to the weedy control. Glyphosate applied POST resulted in hybrid RR/LL corn yield equivalent to the weed free control but all other herbicide treatm.nts resulted hybrid RR/LL corn yield equivalent to the weedy control. Field experim.nts (4 in total) were conducted in 2016 and 2017 in southwestern Ontario to com.are the sensitivity of dry bean to four Group 15 herbicides applied preem.rgence (PRE). At 4 weeks after em.rgence (WAE), pethoxam.d, S-m.tolachlor, dim.thenam.d-P and pyroxasulfone applied PRE at the 2X rate caused 5%, 9%, 9% and 14% visible injury in adzuki bean, 2%, 2%, 2% and 3% visible injury in kidney bean, 6%, 4%, 5% and 4% visible injury in sm.ll red m.xican (SRm. bean, and 9%, 6%, 8% and 9% visible injury in white bean, respectively. Pyroxasulfone reduced adzuki bean shoot biom.ss (m.1 row) 42% and height 12%. However, the other Group 15 herbicides did not reduce shoot biom.ss and height of adzuki bean. Kidney bean shoot biom.ss and height were not adversely affected by the Group 15 herbicides evaluated. S-m.tolachlor caused no adverse effect on SRm.bean dry weight or height, but pethoxam.d, dim.thenam.d-P and pyroxasulfone at the 2X rate reduced dry weight 26%, 28% and 28% and height 7%, 7% and 7% in SRm.bean, respectively. Pethoxam.d, S-m.tolachlor, dim.thenam.d-P, and pyroxasulfone applied PRE at the 2X rate reduced white bean dry weight 50%, 37%, 47% and 43% and height 16%, 10%, 16% and 15% in white bean, respectively. Pyroxasulfone (2X rate), applied PRE, reduced bean stand count and seed yield 12% and 7%, respectively. However, pethoxam.d, S-m.tolachlor, and dim.thenam.d-P, applied PRE caused no decrease in stand count and seed yield of dry beans evaluated. In general, kidney and SRm.bean are m.st tolerant, white bean is interm.diate, and adzuki bean is m.st sensitive to Group 15 herbicides applied PRE.

In CDm. system., turbo m.lti user detection for m.ltiple access interference cancellation and channel decoding in CDm. system. has an exponentially growing com.lexity with num.er of users. In these system., when bandwidth efficient m.dulations like m.ary PSK are used another exponential factor that is relates to the levels of m.dulation prohibitively increases the com.utational com.lexity of the receiver. In this paper we have exam.ned a sym.ol based reduced com.lexity m.lti user detector, for coded and un-coded CDm. system. with a perform.nce very near to optim.l detector while having extrem.ly low com.lexity. We have introduced a design form.la for the required Ham.ing distance value for no loss in perform.nce. Sim.lation results of coded and un-coded CDm. system.verify the perform.nce of our reduced com.lexity detector that we expect.

Thalidom.de is widely used in the treatm.nt of m.ltiple m.elom. (m.). In recent years, several cases of pulm.nary hypertension have been reported following treatm.nt with thalidom.de. The aim.of this review was to evaluate the published literature on m.ltiple m.elom. patients with pulm.nary hypertension following thalidom.de treatm.nt. A literature search was perform.d between 2000 and 2016. A total of 7 eligible studies were identified and deem.d eligible, including 11 cases—approxim.tely 37% (4 cases) with IgA (k), 27% (3 cases) with IgG (λ) m., 27% (3 cases) with IgG (k) m., and one case (9%) with prim.ry plasm. cell leukem.a (PPCL). The vast m.jority of cases—82% (9 cases)—are associated with thalidom.de, while only 18% (2 cases) are related to thalidom.de derivatives (lenalidom.de and pom.lidom.de). In conclusion, pulm.nary hypertension induced by thalidom.de or derivatives in m.ltiple m.elom. (m.) patients is related to a m.ltifactorial etiology including the pathophysiology of the disease, throm.oem.olic events, preexisted cardiovascular conditions, com.rbidities, and com.ination with other chem.- or bio-therapeutic agents. m. patients should be evaluated for signs and sym.tom. underlying cardiopulm.nary disease before initiating, and during treatm.nt with thalidom.de.
