An optimized and validated spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of cefixime in pharmaceutical formulations. The method is based on the complexa- tion reaction between cefixime and palladium ion in the presence of acidic buffer solution （pH 3） in ethanol-distilled water medium at room temperature. The complex absorbed maximally at 352 nm. Beer＇s law is obeyed in the working concentration range of 2.5-35 μg/mL with apparent molar absorptivity of 1.015×104 L/mol cm and Sandell＇s sensitivity of 0.001 μg/cm2/0.001 absorbance unit. The limits of detection and quantitation for the proposed method are 0.175 and 0.583μg/mL, respectively. The effect of common excipients used as additives has been studied in the determination of cefixime. The proposed method has been successfully applied for the determina- tion of cefixime in pharmaceutical formulations. The results obtained by the proposed method were statistically compared with the reference method using t and F values and found no significant difference between the two methods.

Metabolic diseases such as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)are rising in incidence and are an increasingly common cause of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).The gut microbiome is closely connected to the liver via the portal vein,and has recently been identified as a predictor of liver disease *** in NAFLD,cirrhosis and HCC have identified certain microbial signatures associated with these diseases,with the disease-associated microbiome changes collectively referred to as *** pathophysiologic underpinnings of these observations are an area of ongoing investigation,with current evidence demonstrating that the gut microbiome can influence liver disease and carcinogenesis via effects on intestinal permeability(leaky gut)and activation of the innate immune *** the innate immune system,pathogen recognition receptors(Toll like receptors)on resident liver cells and macrophages cause liver inflammation,fibrosis,hepatocyte proliferation and reduced antitumor immunity,leading to chronic liver disease and ***-associated changes include increase in secondary bile acids and reduced expression of FXR(nuclear receptor),which have also been associated with deleterious effects on lipid and carbohydrate metabolism associated with progressive liver *** experimental and clinical studies are needed in different populations to examine these questions *** role of therapeutics that modulate the microbiome is an emerging field with experimental studies showing the potential of diet,probiotics,fecal microbiota transplantation and prebiotics in improving liver disease in experimental *** studies are ongoing with preliminary evidence showing improvement in liver enzymes and *** microbial profile is different in responders to cancer immunotherapy including liver cancer,but whether or not manipulation of the microbiome can be utilized to affect response is being investigated.

Clay minerals from different Cretaceous stratigraphic successions of Egypt were investigated using XRD, DTA, dissolution analysis (DCB), IR, Mssbauer and X\|ray Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectroscopes. The purity of the samples and the degree of their structural order were determined by XRD. The location of Fe in the octahedral sheet is characterized by absorption bands at ～875cm\+\{-1\} assigned as al\|OH\|Fe which persist after chemical dissolution of free iron. The Mssbauer spectra of these clays show two doublets with isomer shift and quadrupole splitting typical of octahedrally coordinated Fe\+\{3+\}, in addition to third doublet with hyperfine parameter typical of Fe\+\{2+\} in the spectra of Abu\|Had kaolinite (H) sample. Six\|lines magnetic hyperfine components which are consistent with those of hematite are confirmed in the spectra of both Isel and Rish kaolinite samples. Goethite was confirmed by both IR and DTA. Multiple nature of ESR of these clays suggested structural Fe in distorted octahedral symmetry as well as non\|structural Fe.\; Little dispersion and low swelling indices as well as incomplete activation of the investigated montmorillonite samples by NaCO\-3 appear to be due to incomplete disaggregation of montmorillonite particles. This can be explained by the ability of Fe\|gel to aggregate the montmorillonite into pseudo\|particles and retard the rigid\|gel structure. However, extraction of this ferric amorphous compound by dithonite treatment recovers the surface properties of the montmorillonite samples.\; On the other hand, the amount and site occupation of Fe associated with kaolinite samples show an inverse correlation with the parameters used to describe the degree of crystallinity perfection, color, brightness and vitrification range of these kaolinite samples.

BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(***)infection is a worldwide problem with increasing burden on the health sector due to its increasing rate of *** conventional triple therapy(TT)is becoming obsolete with a high failure rate of eradication,necessitating the need for better alternatives or *** To investigate *** eradication rate of TT vs modified bismuth quadruple *** Ninety-two patients with dyspepsia symptoms and positive ^(13)C-urea breath test were randomly assigned to two *** first group(control group)was treated for 14 d using standard TT protocol:Esomeprazole(40 mg twice daily),amoxicillin(1 g twice daily)and clarithromycin(500 mg twice daily).On the other hand,the second group was prescribed a 10-d course of modified bismuth quadruple therapy fortified with zinc carnosine:TT in addition to bismuth subcitrate(240 mg twice daily)and zinc carnosine(75 mg twice daily).A repeated 13C-urea breath test was done 4 wk after the completion of the eradication *** Among the 92 subjects,67.4%were males and 32.6%were *** were no differences in demographic characteristics(age,body mass index,smoking history,previous antibiotics use and ethnicity)between the modified bismuth quadruple therapy group and TT *** eradication rate was higher[93.5%(43/46)]in the modified bismuth quadruple therapy group compared to 69.6%(32/46)in the standard TT group(P=0.003).Of the tested predictor variables,only nationality,smoking and therapy type were statistically *** dizziness,which was recorded in modified bismuth quadruple therapy group,there were no significant differences in side effects between the two *** Ten days of modified bismuth quadruple therapy fortified with zinc carnosine is superior to 14 d of conventional TT in eradicating *** infection,with no additional significant adverse events.

The optimum delivery of safeguarding substances is a major part of supply chain management and a crucial issue in the mitigation against the outbreak of pandemics.A problem arises for a decision maker who wants to optimally choose a subset of candidate consumers to maximize the distributed quantities of the needed safeguarding substances within a specic time period.A nonlinear binary mathematical programming model for the problem is *** decision variables are binary ones that represent whether to choose a specic consumer,and design constraints are formulated to keep track of the chosen *** better illustrate the problem,objective,and problem constraints,a real application case study is *** case study involves the optimum delivery of safeguarding substances to several hospitals in the al-Gharbia Governorate in *** hospitals are selected to represent the consumers of safeguarding substances,as they are the rst crucial frontline for mitigation against a pandemic outbreak.A distribution truck is used to distribute the substances from the main store to the hospitals in specied required quantities during a given working *** objective function is formulated in order to maximize the total amount of delivered quantities during the specied time *** case study is solved using a novel Discrete Binary Gaining Sharing Knowledge-based Optimization algorithm(DBGSK),which involves two main stages:discrete binary junior and senior gaining and sharing *** has the ability of nding the solutions of the introduced problem,and the obtained results demonstrate robustness and convergence toward the optimal solutions.

This paper presents an experimental investigation on the flexural behavior of cross-connected brick masonry infill wall panels supported on reinforced concrete beam grids above and below the *** experimental program was comprised of six wall *** effect of change in lower beam stiffness relative to the wall and the geometry of the main walls were *** the results of the experimental tests,the increase in the depth of the lower beam grid reduces the deflection,resulting in an increase in the load carrying capacity of the ***,the stiffness of the main walls affects the deflection and the failure load of the cross walls.

Team Formation(TF)is considered one of the most significant problems in computer science and *** is defined as forming the best team of experts in a social network to complete a task with least *** real-world problems,such as task assignment,vehicle routing,nurse scheduling,resource allocation,and airline crew scheduling,are based on the TF *** has been shown to be a Nondeterministic Polynomial time(NP)problem,and high-dimensional problem with several local optima that can be solved using efficient approximation *** paper proposes two improved swarm-based algorithms for solving team formation *** first algorithm,entitled Hybrid Heap-Based Optimizer with Simulated Annealing algorithm(HBOSA),uses a single crossover operator to improve the performance of a standard heap-based optimizer(HBO)*** also employs the simulated annealing(SA)approach to improve model convergence and avoid local minima *** second algorithm is the Chaotic Heap-based Optimizer algorithm(CHBO).CHBO aids in the discovery of new solutions in the search space by directing particles to different regions of the search *** HBO’s optimization process,a logistic chaotic map is *** performance of the two proposed algorithms(HBOSA)and(CHBO)is evaluated using thirteen benchmark functions and tested in solving the TF problem with varying number of experts and ***,the proposed algorithms were compared to well-known optimization algorithms such as the Heap-Based Optimizer(HBO),Developed Simulated Annealing(DSA),Particle SwarmOptimization(PSO),GreyWolfOptimization(GWO),and Genetic algorithm(GA).Finally,the proposed algorithms were applied to a real-world benchmark dataset known as the Internet Movie Database(IMDB).The simulation results revealed that the proposed algorithms outperformed the compared algorithms in terms of efficiency and performance,with fast convergence to the global minimum.
