Association of acute glycemic parameters at admission with cardiovascular mortality in the oldest old with acute myocardial infarction

OBJECTIVES Stress-related glycemic indicators,including admission blood glucose(ABG),stress-hyperglycemia ratio(SHR),and glycemic gap(GG),have been associated with worse outcomes after acute myocardial infarction(AMI).However,data regarding their prognostic value in the oldest old with AMI are ***,this study aimed to investigate the association of stress-related glycemic indicators with short-and long-term cardiovascular mortality(CVM)in the oldest old(≥80 years)with *** In this prospective study,a total of 933 consecutive old patients with AMI admitted to FuWai hospital(Beijing,China)were *** admission,ABG,SHR,and GG were assessed and all participants were classified according to their ***-Meier,restricted cubic splines(RCS),and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed to evaluate the association between these glycemic indicators and CVM within 30 days and long-term *** During an average of 1954 patient-years of follow-up,a total of 250 cardiovascular deaths were ***-Meier analyses showed the lowest CVM in quartile 1 of ABG and in quartile 2 of SHR and *** adjusting for potential covariates,patients in quartile 4 of ABG,SHR,and GG had a respective 1.67-fold(95%CI:1.03-2.69;P=0.036),1.80-fold(95%CI:1.16-2.79;P=0.009),and 1.78-fold(95%CI:1.14-2.79;P=0.011)higher risk of long-term CVM risk compared to those in the reference groups(quartile 1 of ABG and quartile 2 of SHR and GG).Furthermore,RCS suggested a J-shaped relationship of ABG and a Ushaped association of SHR and GG with long-term ***,we observed similar associations of these acute glycemic parameters with 30-day *** Our data first indicated that SHR and GG consistently had a U-shaped association with both 30-day and longterm CVM among the oldest old with AMI,suggesting that they may be useful for risk stratification in this special population.

BACKGROUND The recently introduced ultrasonic flow ratio(UFR),is a novel fast computational method to derive fractional flow reserve(FFR)from intravascular ultrasound(IVUS)*** the present study,we evaluate the diagnostic performance of UFR in patients with intermediate left main(LM)*** This is a prospective,single center study enrolling consecutive patients with presence of intermediated LM lesions(diameter stenosis of 30%-80%by visual estimation)underwent IVUS and FFR *** independent core laboratory assessed offline UFR and IVUS-derived minimal lumen area(MLA)in a blinded *** Both UFR and FFR were successfully achieved in 41 LM patients(mean age,62.0±9.9 years,46.3%diabetes).An acceptable correlation between UFR and FFR was identified(r=0.688,Pnary stenosis for UFR was 0.94(95%CI:0.87-1.01),which was significantly higher than angiographic identified stenosis>50%(AUC=0.66,Pnal evaluation of intermediate LM stenosis.

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD)is the leading cause of death among urban and rural residents in China,and elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)is a risk factor for *** the increasing burden of ASCVD,lipid management is of the utmost *** recent years,research on blood lipids has made breakthroughs around the world,hence a revision of China guidelines for lipid management is imperative,especially since the target lipid levels in the general population vary in respect to the risk of *** level of LDL-C,which can be regarded as appropriate in a population without frisk factors,can be considered abnormal in people at high risk of developing *** a result,the“Guidelines for the prevention and treatment of dyslipidemia”were adapted into the“China Guidelines for Lipid Management”(henceforth referred to as the new guidelines)by an Experts’committee after careful *** new guidelines still recommend LDL-C as the primary target for lipid control,with CVD risk stratification to determine its target *** guidelines recommend that moderate intensity statin therapy in adjunct with a heart-healthy lifestyle,be used as an initial line of treatment,followed by cholesterol absorption inhibitors or/and proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9(PCSK9)inhibitors,as *** new guidelines provide guidance for lipid management across various age groups,from children to the *** aim of these guidelines is to comprehensively improve the management of lipids and promote the prevention and treatment of ASCVD by guiding clinical practice.

The catalytic activity of VO（acac）2 for the cyclohexane（Cy） oxidation was studied. The effects of various parameters, such as the amounts of H202, HNO3, H20 and Cy were investigated. The highest total turnover num- ber（TON） is 234, which can be increased to 353, 342 and 403, respectively with the adding of o-phthalic, m-phthalic or p-phthalic acid. A reaction mechanism was also supposed primarily.

Spinel MnCo_(2)O_(4) is a promising energy storage candidate as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries owing to synergistic effects of two intrinsic solid-state redox ***,low conductivity,poor rate capacity and rapid capacity fading have seriously impaired its practical *** overcome the inferiorities,urchin-like MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C core–shell nanowire arrays have been fabricated directly within a porous copper current collector via a facile hydrothermal method followed by a chemical vapor deposition carbonization *** a typical nanowire,the core is composed of interconnected MnCo_(2)O_(4)nanoparticles and the shell shows as a thin amorphous carbon *** integrated MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu structure could act as working anodes without using additives or polymer *** MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu possesses slightly longer Li-ion insertion/desertion pathway than that of MnCo_(2)O_(4)/Cu,the carbon shell could effectively prevent the pulverization of MnCo_(2)O_(4) and lower down charge transfer resistance and actively participate in Li-ion *** rearrangement of carbon atoms during lithiation/delithiation cycling could inhibit the formation of passive solid electrolyte interphase *** a result,the MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu electrode presents superior rate capacity(600 mAh·g^(−1) at 1 A·g^(−1)) and better stability(797 mAh·g^(−1) after 200 cycles at 100 mA·g^(−1)).The excellent reversible Li ion storage capacity,cycling stability and rate capacity endow MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu great potential as stable and high output integrated anode materials in Li-ion batteries.

To the editor:The intervention of chronic total occlusion(CTO)of coronary artery is the last castle to be conquered in coronary intervention.1 With the development of techniques and guidewires,even in high-volume centers,the failure rate of CTO is still 10%-15%.Vo MN et al2 described a“subintimal plaque modification”(SPM)that involves use of antegrade and retrograde dissection reentry techniques to treat“balloon-un-crossable”coronary lesion in *** Subintimal Tracking and Reentry(STAR)technique is not suitable for routine use during CTO percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).SPM is also called STAR without stenting,which can be used as a bailout strategy in CTO PCI when standard crossing attempts ***,SPM technique is performed as balloon dilation of the subintimal space through the CTO segment.

Trans-brachial artery access for coronary artery procedures is feasible and safe: data from a single-center in Macao

Compared with trans-femoral artery access (TFA), trans-radial artery access (TRA) for percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) has been shown to significantly reduce 30-day mortality, in-hospital major adverse cardiac and cardiovascular events (a composite of 30-day mortality and in-hospital myocardial re-infarction, target vessel revascularization, and cerebrovascular events), major bleeding, and access site complications.[1] TRA is more easily compressible, minimizing hematoma risk, and lower crossover rates to another access. Patients may ambulate immediately after procedure, that hospitalization can be shortened significantly. In some centers, patient with TRA can be discharged on the same day of procedure. It is also superior to TFA with closure devices, and becomes the preferred access site for recent PCI.[2]

Tartary buckwheat(Fagopyrum tataricum)is a well-known pseudocereal for its health and economic ***,abundant antinutritional factors(ANFs)reduces its health *** reported,germination can improve the nutritional profile of *** this study,we systematically evaluate the safety of Tartary buckwheat seeds(TB)and Tartary buckwheat sprouts(TBS)used as high active *** evaluating nutrition levels,bioactive compounds and ANFs in TBS during germinating,5^(th)-day TBS were selected as the raw material.C57BL/6J mice were gavaged daily with distilled water,TB,or TBS for 6 *** physiological indices related to ANFs were *** showed that the TB intake tends to generate negative effects on the gut microbiota,and ***,upon TB intake,the Fe^(3+)content in serum,trypsin activity in pancreas and jejunum decreased,while the cytokine,IgE,and histamine levels in serum,water content in faeces,cytokine levels in liver and jejunum ***,TBS did not induce any obvious negative effects on the above relevant indices and showed better lipid-lowering ***,TBS are safer and more effective as a raw material to produce the functional food for long-term consumption with the intention of preventing and treating hyperlipidaemia.

Deep tectonics and seismogenic mechanisms of the seismic source zone of the Jishishan M_(s)6.2 earthquake on December 18,2023,at the northeast margin of the Tibetan Plateau

On December 18,2023,an M_(s)6.2 earthquake occurred in Jishishan,Gansu Province,*** earthquake happened in the eastern region of the Qilian Orogenic Belt,which is situated at the forefront of the NE margin of the Tibetan Plateau(i.e.,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau),encompassing a rhombic-shaped area that intersects the Qilian-Qaidam Basin,Alxa Block,Ordos Block,and South China *** this study,we analyzed the deep tectonic pattern of the Jishishan earthquake by incorporating data on the crustal thickness,velocity structure,global navigation satellite system(GNSS)strain field,and *** discovered that the location of the earthquake was related to changes in the crustal *** results showed that the Jishishan M_(s)6.2 earthquake occurred in a unique position,with rapid changes in the crustal thickness,Vp/Vs,phase velocity,and S-wave *** epicenter of the earthquake was situated at the transition zone between high and low velocities and was in proximity to a low-velocity ***,the source area is flanked by two high-velocity anomalies from the east and *** principal compressive strain orientation near the Lajishan Fault is primarily in the NNE and NE directions,which align with the principal compressive stress direction in this *** some areas of the Lajishan Fault,the principal compressive strain orientations show the NNW direction,consistent with the direction of the upper crustal fast-wave polarization from local earthquakes and the phase velocity azimuthal *** features underscore the relationship between the occurrence of the Jishishan M_(s)6.2 earthquake and the deep inhomogeneous structure and deep tectonic *** NE margin of the Tibetan Plateau was thickened by crustal extension in the process of northeastward expansion,and the middle and lower crustal materials underwent structural deformation and may have been filled with salt-containing fluids during the extension *** presence
