There has been a lot of basic and clinical research on Alzheimer’s disease(AD)over the last 100 years,but its mechanisms and treatments have not been fully *** some controversies,the amyloid-beta hypothesis is one of the most widely accepted causes of *** this study,we disclose a new amyloid-beta plaque disaggregating agent and an AD brain-targeted delivery system using porous silicon nanoparticles(pSiNPs)as a therapeutic nano-platform to overcome *** hypothesized that the negatively charged sulfonic acid functional group could disaggregate plaques and construct a chemical *** a result of the in vitro assay of amyloid plaques and library screening,we confirmed that 6-amino-2-naphthalenesulfonic acid(Ana)showed the highest efficacy for plaque disaggregation as a hit *** confirm the targeted delivery of Ana to the AD brain,a nano-platform was created using porous silicon nanoparticles(pSiNPs)with Ana loaded into the pore of pSiNPs and biotin-polyethylene glycol(PEG)surface *** resulting nano-formulation,named Biotin-CaCl2-Ana-pSiNPs(BCAP),delivered a large amount of Ana to the AD brain and ameliorated memory impairment of the AD mouse model through the disaggregation of amyloid plaques in the *** study presents a new bioactive small molecule for amyloid plaque disaggregation and its promising therapeutic nano-platform for AD brain-targeted delivery.

Anomaly Detection in Imbalanced Encrypted Traffic with Few Packet Metadata-Based Feature Extraction

In the IoT(Internet of Things)domain,the increased use of encryption protocols such as SSL/TLS,VPN(Virtual Private Network),and Tor has led to a rise in attacks leveraging encrypted *** research on anomaly detection using AI(Artificial Intelligence)is actively progressing,the encrypted nature of the data poses challenges for labeling,resulting in data imbalance and biased feature extraction toward specific *** study proposes a reconstruction error-based anomaly detection method using an autoencoder(AE)that utilizes packet metadata excluding specific node *** proposed method omits biased packet metadata such as IP and Port and trains the detection model using only normal data,leveraging a small amount of packet *** makes it well-suited for direct application in IoT environments due to its low resource *** experiments comparing feature extraction methods for AE-based anomaly detection,we found that using flowbased features significantly improves accuracy,precision,F1 score,and AUC(Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve)score compared to packet-based ***,for flow-based features,the proposed method showed a 30.17%increase in F1 score and improved false positive rates compared to Isolation Forest and ***,the proposedmethod demonstrated a 32.43%higherAUCwhen using packet features and a 111.39%higher AUC when using flow features,compared to previously proposed oversampling *** study highlights the impact of feature extraction methods on attack detection in imbalanced,encrypted traffic environments and emphasizes that the one-class method using AE is more effective for attack detection and reducing false positives compared to traditional oversampling methods.

Optical Properties of Ca_(0.25)Ba_(0.75)Nb_2O_6 Thin Films Prepared by Spinning Coating

Ca0.25Ba0.75Nb2O6 （CBN25） thin film was prepared on quartz substrate by spinning coating and the optical properties were investigated by a Hitachi U-3410 spectrophotometer and a Metricon 2010 prism coupler. The optical band gap, thickness and refractive index at 632.8 nm of the CBN25 thin film were determined to be 3.65 eV, 529 nm and 2.2258, respectively. The dispersion of the refractive index fitted to Sellmeier relation well and optical waves could be guided into the thin film, which implied that CBN25 thin films were promising for integrated optics and optically active devices.

Optical Properties of Neodymium Substituted Bismuth Titanate Thin Film Grown by Metal-organic Solution Deposition

Well-crystallized Bi2Nd2Ti3O12 （BNT） thin film with good surface morphology was prepared by metal-organic solution deposition （MOD）.The waveguide property was investigated by using a Metricon 2010 prism *** nonlinear optical properties of the film were measured by Z-scan technique at a wavelength of 532 nm with pulse durations of 35 ps.A large positive nonlinear refractive index,nonlinear refractive coefficient and two-photon absorption coefficient were determined to be 2.7×10-7 esu,5.29×10-7 esu and 2.41×10-7 m/W,*** origin of optical nonlinearity of BNT thin film was *** results suggested that the the BNT thin film may be a kind of new multifunctional materials.

Evolution of microstructure and tensile properties of cold-drawn hyper-eutectoid steel wires during post-deformation annealing

Manufacturing temperatures of severely cold-drawn hyper-eutectoid steel wires are sufficiently high to influence the mobility of dislocations and alloy elements,thereby affecting the materials’mechanical ***,we describe the evolution of microstructure and tensile strength of the as-drawn 3.45 GPa steel wire during post-deformation annealing for 30 min at 150-450℃.Annealing at 150℃raised the strength to 3.77 GPa by age-hardening through activation of dislocations pinning by carbon,while further temperature rising up to 450℃caused a severe loss of *** was proved that annealing at 300 and 450℃destabilizes the lamellar microstructure,promoting the formation of carbon-deficient(Fe,Mn,Cr)3 C-type cementite particles with preferentially rounded and partially faceted *** at 450℃yielded the accumulation of Mn and Cr at the ferrite/particle interfaces,and their concentrations at the interfaces were dependent on the interface structure;i.e.,lower concentrations at rounded interfaces(formed through capillarity–driven coarsening of the spheroidized cementite),and higher concentrations at faceted interfaces(that are initially existing in the as-drawn state).Our proof-of-principle observations,supported by thermodynamic calculations and kinetic assessments,provide a pathway for understanding the changes in microstructural and tensile properties during manufacturing of the hyper-eutectoid steel wires.

Effect of internal sloshing on added resistance of ship

The motion responses of ships carrying liquid cargo are affected not only by external wave excitation, but also by internal sloshing-induced forces and moments. Sloshing flow is coupled with the ship motion. This means the added resistance in waves may change when sloshing occurs inside the tank of the ship. In this study, the motion responses and added resistance of a ship, coupled with the sloshing-induced internal forces and moments are considered by using the linear potential theory. The three-dimensional Rankine panel method, in which the physical quantities are represented by using B-spline basis function, is applied. The sloshing flow of inner tanks is also simulated by Using the Rankine panel method and linearized boundary value problem. To study the added resistance, a near-field method, which integrates the second-order pressure on a body surface, is applied. The model ship is a blunt modified Wigley model with two inner tanks. Numerical results obtained without inner tanks are compared with the experimental data, and then the effect of filling ratio of inner tanks on ship motion and added resistance are observed. The components that induce added resistance are examined, and the effects of surge motion on sloshing flow and added resistance are briefly considered. This study shows that the sloshing flow inside the inner tanks may significantly influence not only the motion responses, but also added resistance, especially, when the incident wave frequency approaches the resonance frequency of the sloshing flow.

Preparation of Nb_(3)Al powder by chemical reaction in molten salts

Nb_(3)Al nanoparticles were directly synthesized by metallothermic reduction process in the molten salts with mNbCl_(5)-nalCl_(3) powders as raw materials and sodium as reducing reagent. The effects of different feeding material orders, soaking time, Nb content in raw materials, and 3NbCl_(5)-AlCl_(3) content in molten salts on the obtained Nb_(3)Al powder were discussed. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). It is found that the only phase Nb_(3)Al nanoparticles are obtained by controlling the variation of the feeding material orders, soaking time, and Nb content in raw materials. And the morphologies of as-prepared nanoparticles change owning to different 3NbCl_(5)-AlCl_(3) contents in molten salts.

A comparison of short-term postoperative outcomes including nutritional status between gastrectomy with simultaneous cholecystectomy and gastrectomy only in patients with gastric cancer

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the effect of simultaneous cholecystectomy on the short-term postoperative outcomes and nutritional status in patients with gastric ***: We retrospectively reviewed data from 4,820 patients with gastric cancer who underwent gastrectomy from January 2011 to December 2016. Patients who underwent only gastrectomy(N=4,578) were matched to those who underwent simultaneous cholecystectomy during gastrectomy(N=242) at a 1:1 ratio using propensity score matching analysis. The nutritional status and inflammatory responses preoperatively and postoperatively and postoperative outcomes were compared between the ***: The simultaneous cholecystectomy group showed more intraoperative blood loss and a longer operative time than the gastrectomy only group [150.0(100.0, 200.0) m L vs. 100.0(100.0, 200.0) m L, P=0.006;176.0(150.0,210.0) min vs. 155.0(128.0, 188.0) min, Pmin level, fasting glucose level,and prognostic nutritional index excluding the cholesterol level were not significantly different between the groups,and their changing patterns were similar. Although the cholesterol level was significantly lower in the simultaneous cholecystectomy group than in the gastrectomy only group at all follow-up points, the mean value of the decreased cholesterol level was within normal ***: In gastric cancer patients with gallbladder disease, simultaneous cholecystectomy is safe and not associated with additional nutritional loss.

With the advancement of network communication technology,network traffic shows explosive ***,network attacks occur *** intrusion detection systems are still the primary means of detecting ***,two challenges continue to stymie the development of a viable network intrusion detection system:imbalanced training data and new undiscovered ***,this study proposes a unique deep learning-based intrusion detection *** use two independent in-memory autoencoders trained on regular network traffic and attacks to capture the dynamic relationship between traffic features in the presence of unbalanced training *** the original data is fed into the triplet network by forming a triplet with the data reconstructed from the two encoders to ***,the distance relationship between the triples determines whether the traffic is an *** addition,to improve the accuracy of detecting unknown attacks,this research proposes an improved triplet loss function that is used to pull the distances of the same class closer while pushing the distances belonging to different classes farther in the learned feature *** proposed approach’s effectiveness,stability,and significance are evaluated against advanced models on the Android Adware and General Malware Dataset(AAGM17),Knowledge Discovery and Data mining Cup 1999(KDDCUP99),Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity Group’s Intrusion Detection Evaluation Dataset(CICIDS2017),UNSW-NB15,Network Security Lab-Knowledge Discovery and Data mining(NSL-KDD)*** achieved results confirmed the superiority of the proposed method for the task of network intrusion detection.
