Highly Cis-1,4 Selective Polymerization of Conjugated Dienes Catalyzed by ^-heterocyclic Carbene-ligated Neodymium Complexes

Neodymium complexes containing N heterocyclic carbene(NHC)ligands,NdCl5[1,3,R(NCH=)2C]-THF,(Nd1:R=2,6-Pr2C6H3,x=0;Nd2:R=2,6-Et2C6H3,x=1;Nd3:R=2.4,6-Me3C6H2,x=1)were synthesized and employed as precatalysts for the coordination polymerization of conjugated dienes(butadiene and isoprene).In combination with trisobutylaluminium(TIBA),Nd1 promoted butadiene polymerization to produce extremely high cis-1,4(up to 99.0%)polybutadienes with high molecular weight(Mw=250-780 kg·mol 1).The Nd1/TIBA catalytic system also exhibited both high catalytic activity and cis-1,4 selectivity(up to 97.8%)for isoprene polymerization.The catalytic activity,molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of resulting polydienes were directly influenced by Al/Nd molar ratio,aging method,and polymerization temperature.Very interestingly,the high cis-1,4 selectivity of the catalyst towards butadiene and isoprene kept almost unchanged under different reaction conditions.The cis-1,4 polyisoprenes with high molecular weight(Mw=210-530 kg·mol 1)and narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn=1.9-2.7)as well as high cis-1.4 selectivity(-~97%)could be synthesized by using the aged Nd1/TIBA catalytic system in the presence of isoprene(100 equivalent to Nd)at low AlNd molar ratios of 6-10.Polyisoprenes with low molecular weights(Mw=12-76 kg·mol-7)and narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn=1.7-2.6)were obtained by using Nd2 and Nd3 as precatalysts,indicating that the molecular weight of resulting polyisoprenes can be adjusted by changing the substitutes of ligand in Nd complex.

In recent years,immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)therapy has become an important treatment strategy for gastrointestinal tumors,however,it only benefits about 1/3 of patients.Since the microbiome has been shown to play an important role in the human body for a long time,a growing number of studies are focusing on its relationship to ICB therapy in cancer,specifically how intestinal microbes affect the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)therapy in patients.On this basis,probiotic interventions,fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT),dietary interventions,and other methods which improve or maintain the structure of the intestinal flora have attracted widespread attention.This article discusses the four aspects of the microbiome,ICB,combined treatment of gastrointestinal tumors,and regulation of gut microbiome.Particularly,the discussion focuses on the contribution of probiotic intervention in improving the therapeutic effect of ICIs to prolong the survival time of patients and reduce the severity of immune-related adverse effects(irAEs).

Lithium(Li)metal has been considered as one of the most promising anodes for high-energy-density batteries.However,the hyperactivity of metallic Li and its dendrite growth are the major hurdles to its practical applications.Herein,a multi-functional solid-interphase-protective layer with excellent waterproof performance and fast self-healing properties was modified on the surface of Li metal to address the above issues.Under the protection of this interface,the metallic Li(denoted as P-Li)exhibited superior electrochemical stability in both Li/Li symmetric cells and full cells.Notably,even after being exposed to humid air for 3 h,the LiFePO_(4)||Li full battery with P-Li anodes still showed long-term stability with a transcendental capacity retention of~100% after 100 cycles,revealing a significant advantage to the non-working LiFePO_(4)||Li battery with air-exposed bare Li anodes.

With the rapid development of the electronic industry and wireless communication technology,electromagnetic interference(EMI)or pollution has been increasingly serious.This not only severely endangers the normal operation of electronic equipment but also threatens human health.Therefore,it is urgent to develop high-performance EMI shielding materials.The advent of hydrogel-based materials has given EMI shields a novel option.Hydrogels combined with conductive functional materials have good mechanical flexibility,fatigue durability,and even high stretchability,which are beneficial for a wide range of applications,especially in EMI shielding and some flexible functional devices.Herein,the current progress of hydrogel-based EMI shields was reviewed,in the meanwhile,some novel studies about pore structure design that we believe will help advance the development of hydrogel-based EMI shielding materials were also included.In the outlook,we suggested some promising development directions for the hydrogel-based EMI shields,by which we hope to provide a reference for designing hydrogels with excellent EMI shielding performance and multifunctionalities.

Structural dynamic responses of a stripped solar sail subjected to solar radiation pressure

The stripped solar sail whose membrane is divided into separate narrow membrane strips is believed to have the best structural efficiency.In this paper,the stripped solar sail structure is regarded as an assembly made by connecting a number of boom-strip components in sequence.Considering the coupling effects between booms and membrane strips,an exact and semianalytical method to calculate structural dynamic responses of the stripped solar sail subjected to solar radiation pressure is established.The case study of a 100 m stripped solar sail shows that the stripped architecture helps to reduce the static deflections and amplitudes of the steady-state dynamic response.Larger prestress of the membrane strips will decrease stiffness of the sail and increase amplitudes of the steady-state dynamic response.Increasing thickness of the boom will benefit to stability of the sail and reduce the resonant amplitudes.This proposed semi-analytical method provides an efficient analysis tool for structure design and attitude control of the stripped solar sail.

There is an urgent demand for flexible,lightweight,mechanically robust,excellent electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials.Two-dimensional(2D)transition metal carbides/nitrides(MXenes)have been potential candidates for the construction of excellent EMI shielding materials due to their great electrical electroconductibility,favorable mechanical nature such as flexibility,large aspect ratios,and simple processability in aqueous media.The applicability of MXenes for EMI shielding has been intensively explored;thus,reviewing the relevant research is beneficial for advancing the design of high-performance MXene-based EMI shields.Herein,recent progress in MXene-based macrostructure development is reviewed,including the associated EMI shielding mechanisms.In particular,various structural design strategies for MXene-based EMI shielding materials are highlighted and explored.In the end,the difficulties and views for the future growth of MXene-based EMI shields are proposed.This review aims to drive the growth of high-performance MXene-based EMI shielding macrostructures on basis of rational structural design and the future high-efficiency utilization of MXene.

Host defense peptides(HDPs)are small molecules with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities against infectious bacteria,viruses,and fungi.Increasing evidence suggests that HDPs can also indirectly protect hosts by modulating their immune responses.Due to these dual roles,HDPs have been considered one of the most promising antibiotic substitutes to improve growth performance,intestinal health,and immunity in farm animals.This review describes the antimicrobial and immunomodulatory roles of host defense peptides and their recent applications in animal production.

The root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi,also called Huangqin,is frequently used in traditional Chinese medicine.In ancient China,S.baicalensis root was used to clear heat,protect the fetus,and avoid a miscarriage for thousands of years.In modern times,pregnancy-related diseases can seriously affect maternal and fetal health,but few systematic studies have explored the mechanisms and potential targets of S.baicalensis root in the treatment of pregnancy-related diseases.Flavonoids(baicalein,wogonin and oroxylin A)and flavonoid glycosides(baicalin and wogonoside)are the main chemical components in the root of S.baicalensis.This study presents the current understanding of the major chemical components in the root of S.baicalensis,focusing on their traditional uses,potential therapeutic effects and ethnopharmacological relevance to pregnancy-related disorders.The mechanisms,potential targets and experimental models of S.baicalensis root for ameliorating pregnancy-related diseases,such as recurrent spontaneous abortion,preeclampsia,preterm birth,fetal growth restriction and gestational diabetes mellitus,are highlighted.

Nowadays,efficient removal of antibiotic(e.***.tetracycline,TC) from water bodies has been of great global concern.Hereby,a novel Zn_(2)SnO_(4)/SnO_(2)@ZIF-8 photo-catalyst was first synthesized by a facile selfassembly in-situ growth method.Zn_(2)SnO_(4)/SnO_(2)@ZIF-8 exhibits a remarkable photocatalytic activity towards TC under visible-light driven with a rapid rate constant of 1.5 × 10^(-2)min^(-1), and a removal efficiency of 81.2%,which is superior to some catalysts in the literature.Importantly,the photocatalytic activity of Zn_(2)SnO_(4)/SnO_(2)@ZIF-8 could still remain ~77% after the fifth cycle,indicating its good stability and reusability.The remarkable performances of adsorption and photocatalytic were attributed to associative effects of catalytic activity of Zn_(2)SnO_(4)/SnO_(2)and the unique porous nanostructure and stability of ZIF-8.This work could aid the future design and preparation of novel MOFs composite catalysts for efficient elimination of antibiotics from water.
