Characteristics and mechanism of ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)adsorption by recovered perlite from agar extraction residue

ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)in wastewater accumulated through the ecological chain and could jeopardize human *** of ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)from wastewater using recovered perlite was an important way to solve the problem of resource utilization of solid waste from agar *** previous study confirmed that recovered perlite from agar extraction residue had better pore size and specific surface area than commercial ***,the adsorption efficiency and adsorption mechanism of recovered perlite were the main factors limiting its adsorption *** adsorption process of ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)by recovered perlite in aqueous solution was described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation,and the relevant adsorption mechanism was mainly *** with commercial perlite,the adsorption removal rate of ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)by enzymatic recovered perlite could reach 92.9%and 89.2%,respectively,and were improved by 12.63%and 13.03%.Langmuir isothermal adsorption model could better describe the isothermal adsorption process of recovered perlite on heavy metal ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+),and the relevant adsorption mechanism was mainly monolayer *** X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results indicated that the decrease of Si—O Si^(2+)hydroxyl coordination bond and the increase of C—Si bond might make the binding effect of recovered perlite with heavy metals *** competitive adsorption of ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)by recovered perlite was still dominated by chemisorption and monolayer *** study was expected to provide a theoretical basis and technical support for the removal of ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)from wastewater using recovered perlite from seaweed residue.

Granule size distribution of wheat starch is an important characteristic that can affect its chemical composition and the functionality of wheat products. Two high-yield winter wheat cultivars were used to evaluate the effects of the application of exogenous ABA or GA during the reproductive phase of the initial grain filling on starch granule size distribution and starch components in grains at maturity. The results indicated that a bimodal curve was found in the volume and surface area distribution of grain starch granules, and a unimodal curve was observed for the number distribution under all treatments. The exogenous ABA resulted in a significant increase in the proportions （both by volume and by surface area） of B-type （〈9.9 Ixm in diameter） starch granules, with a reduction in those of A-type （〉9.9 ~tm） starch granules, while, the exogenous GA3 led to converse effects on size distribution of those starch granules. The exogenous ABA also increased starch, amylose and amylopectin contents at maturity but significantly reduced the ratio of amylose to amylopectin. Application of GA3 significantly reduced starch content, amylopectin content but increased the ratio of amylose to amylopectin. The ratio of amylose to amylopectin showed a significant and negative relationship with the volume proportion of granules 〈9.9 μm, but was positively related to the volume proportion of granules 22.8-42.8 μm.

Electrochemical NO_(2)~--to-NH_(3) conversion(NO_(2)RR) offers a green route to NH_(3) electrosynthesis, while developing efficient NO_(2)RR catalysis systems at high current densities remains a grand challenge. Herein, we report an efficient Zr-niO catalyst with atomically dispersed Zr-dopants incorporated in niO lattice, delivering the exceptional NO_(2)RR performance with industriallevel current density(>0.2 A cm^(-2)). In situ spectroscopic measurements and theoretical simulations reveal the construction of Zrni frustrated Lewis acid-base pairs(FLPs) on Zr-ni O, which can substantially increase the number of absorbed nitrite(NO_(2)~-),promote the activation and protonation of NO_(2)~- and concurrently hamper the H coverage, boosting the activity and selectivity of Zr-niO towards the NO_(2)RR. Remarkably, Zr-niO exhibits the exceptional performance in a flow cell with high Faradaic efficiency for NH_(3) of 94.0% and NH_(3)yield rate of 1,394.1 μmol h^(-1)cm^(-2) at an industrial-level current density of 228.2 m A cm^(-2),placing it among the best NO_(2)RR electrocatalysts for NH_(3) production.

In recent years, the authors have extended the traditional interval method into the time dimension to develop a new mathematical tool called the “interval process model” for quantifying time-varying or dynamic uncertainties. This model employs upper and lower bounds instead of precise probability distributions to quantify uncertainty in a parameter at any given time point. It is anticipated to complement the conventional stochastic process model in the coming years owing to its relatively low dependence on experimental samples and ease of understanding for engineers. Building on our previous work, this paper proposes a spectrum analysis method to describe the frequency domain characteristics of an interval process, further strengthening the theoretical foundation of the interval process model and enhancing its applicability for complex engineering problems. In this approach, we first define the zero midpoint function interval process and its auto/cross-power spectral density(PSD) functions. We also deduce the relationship between the auto-PSD function and the auto-covariance function of the stationary zero midpoint function interval process. Next, the auto/cross-PSD function matrices of a general interval process are defined, followed by the introduction of the concepts of PSD function matrix and cross-PSD function matrix for interval process vectors. The spectrum analysis method is then applied to random vibration problems, leading to the creation of a spectrum-analysis-based interval vibration analysis method that determines the PSD function for the system displacement response under stationary interval process excitations. Finally, the effectiveness of the formulated spectrum-analysis-based interval vibration analysis approach is verified through two numerical examples.

Background：Much evidence has demonstrated that interleukin （IL）-33 plays an important role in rheumatoid arthritis （RA）.However,there have been limited studies about soluble ST2,a receptor for 1L-33,in *** aims of this study were to detect the levels of ST2 in the serum and synovial fluid of RA patients and to reveal the association of these levels with disease activity and the function of ST2 in ***：A total of 56 RA patients and 38 age-matched healthy controls were enrolled in this *** fluid samples were collected from another 30 RA patients and 20 osteoartbritis *** and synovial fluid levels of ST2 were measured by *** addition,the levels of ST2 in the serum of RA patients before and after therapy were *** function of ST2 in RA was revealed by the results of an in vitro cell assay,where recombinant ST2 proteins were used to treat peripheral blood mononuclear cells （PBMCs） and RA synovial fibroblasts （RASFs）.Results：Serum-soluble ST2 levels were significantly higher in RA patients （127.14 ± 61.43 pg/ml） than those in healthy controls （78.37 ± 41.93 pg/ml,P 〈 0.01）.Synovial fluid-soluble ST2 levels （41.90 ± 33.58 pg/ml） were much higher in RA patients than those in osteoarthritis patients （19.71 ± 16.72 pg/ml,P 〈 0.05）.RA patients who received effective therapy for 6 months showed decreased serum-soluble ST2 levels （113.01 ± 53.90 pg/ml） compared to baseline （139.59 ± 68.36 pg/ml）（P =0.01）.RA patients with high disease activity had higher serum-soluble ST2 levels （162.02 ± 56.78 pg/ml） than those with low disease activity （94.67 ± 40.27 pg/ml,P =0.001）.Soluble ST2 did not affect IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8,or tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-o） expression in PBMCs from RA ***,soluble ST2 ameliorated the expressions of IL-33 and IL-1 β but not that of IL-6,IL-8,or TNF-α in resting ***,in the RASFs stimulated by TNF-α plus IL-1 β,soluble ST2 showed extensive suppressive effects on the expression of IL-6,IL-8,

The balancing of the electrochemical performance,mechanical stability,and processing technology for applying supercapacitors to flexible and wearable electronics continues to encounter severe ***,we prepare ni-Co-Mn hydroxide electrodes with a threedimensional multichannel structure via a simple hydrothermal *** are constructed using vertically contiguous nano sheets with a uniform thickness and rough *** electrodes can provide numerous electroactive sites and accelerate the transmission of electrolyte *** relationship between the structure and electrochemical performances is verified by experiments and theoretical ***-dimensional(2D)planar and one-dimensional(1D)fiber electrodes are prepared using a flexible carbon cloth(CC)and carbon fiber(CF),respectively,as *** assembled quasi-solid-state flexible asymmetric supercapacitor(FASC)with a twodimensional sandwich structure using niCoMn-OH/CC as the electrode achieves a remarkable energy density of73.8 Wh·kg^(-1)at a power density of 1.03 kW·kg^(-1).The quasi-solid-state FASC with a 1D linear structure using niCoMn-OH/CF as the electrode also attains a high energy density(12.9 Wh·kg^(-1)at a power density of0.75 W·kg^(-1)).Moreover,the electrochemical performances of the niCoMn/CC//AC/CC and niCoMn/CF//AC/CF FASCs are not disturbed at different bending angles(0°,45°,90°,135°and 180°),This indicates the superior flexibility of the *** also assemble a self-powered energy-harvesting storage system by integrating FASCs and commercial solar cells to verify its *** displays sustainable development potential for energy storage.

A deep learning model enabled multi-event recognition for distributed optical fiber sensing

Fiber optic sensors that utilize backscattered light offer distributed real-time measurements and have been seen tremendous improvements in sensing distance and spatial resolution over the last ***, these improvements in sensor capabilities lead to a significant increase in the amount of data that needs to be processed. Traditional processing schemes are no longer adequate, so the development of novel signal processing methods is critical. Phase-sensitive optical time domain reflectometry(Φ-OTDR) is now applied in various applications for multi-event recognition, and it would usually be difficult, sometimes even unrealistic to label all the acquired samples due to its real-time and seamless monitoring nature. To fully take advantage of the information contained within the large number of unlabeled samples, which were formerly not utilized and hence wasted, we propose a semi-supervised model to boost the event classification performance of Φ-OTDR. The model extracts respectively the temporal features and the spatial bidirectional features together with a dual attention mechanism. Its classification accuracy has been improved up to 96.9%with only 1230 labeled samples. In addition, our model shows significant advantages when the number of labeled samples is reduced. Importantly, our method improves the accuracy of multi-event classification without any modification to the optical setup.
