High Order Block Method for Third Order ODEs

Many initial value problems are difficult to be solved using ordinary,explicit step-by-step methods because most of these problems are considered *** implicit methods,however,are capable of solving stiff ordinary differential equations(ODEs)usually found in most applied *** study aims to develop a new numerical method,namely the high order variable step variable order block backward differentiation formula(VSVOHOBBDF)for the main purpose of approximating the solutions of third order *** computational work of the VSVO-HOBBDF method was carried out using the strategy of varying the step size and order in a single *** order of the proposed method was then discussed in *** advancement of this strategy is intended to enhance the efficiency of the proposed method to approximate solutions *** order to confirm the efficiency of the VSVO-HOBBDF method over the two ODE solvers in MATLAB,particularly ode15s and ode23s,a numerical experiment was conducted on a set of stiff *** numerical results prove that for this particular set of problem,the use of the proposed method is more efficient than the comparable ***-HOBBDF method is thus recommended as a reliable alternative solver for the third order ODEs.

Wear behavior of copper-containing ferritic iron under a dry sliding condition

The effect of solute Cu and Cu precipitates on the wear behavior of ferritic iron under an unlubricated condition was *** specific wear rate of Cu-containing steel abruptly decreased up to 50 n of load,and then gradually decreased with further increased *** specific wear rate of the as-quenched specimen,in which Cu was in a solid solution,was the lowest among all the specimens at low loads,and all specimens had almost the same specific wear rate at high *** observation showed that the hardness increments of all specimens decreased with increased depth below the worn *** as-quenched specimen had a relatively large depth of deformed region than the other specimens even though the increments in hardness were almost the same for all specimens at low *** the same hardness at an unworn state,the as-quenched and over-aged specimens exhibited a substantial increase in hardness and large deformed regions below the worn *** finding indicated that the enhancement in plastic deformation and work hardening led to the decrease in the specific wear rate of the as-quenched specimen at low loads and the improvement in the wear resistance of all specimens at high loads.

Objective:To demonstrate a noninvasive large mammalian genetic sampling method using blood meal obtained from a tabanid ***:Blood meal was recovered from the abdomen of an engorged tabanid fly(Haematopota sp.)which was captured immediately after biting a Sumatran rhino in *** blood was applied on to a Whatman FTAblood *** laboratory work was conducted to extract,amplify and sequence the DnA from the *** was done by sampling the hair follicles and blood samples from the rhinoceros and subjecting it to the same laboratory ***:BLAST search and constructed phylogenetic trees confirmed the blood meal samples were indeed from the ***:This method could be used in the field application to noninvasively collect genetic *** of tabanids and other haematophagous arthropods(*** and ticks)and other blood-sucking parasites(*** and worms)could also provide information on vector-borne diseases.
