BACKGROUnD Pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD)is a technically complex operation,with a re-latively high risk for *** ability to rescue patients from post-PD complications is as a recognized quality *** protocols were instituted at our low volume facility in the year *** To document the rate of rescue from post-PD complications with tailored protocols in place as a measure of *** A retrospective audit was performed to collect data from patients who experienced major post-PD complications at a low volume pancreatic surgery unit in Trinidad and Tobago between January 1,2013 and June 30,***-dardized definitions from the International Study Group of Pancreatic Surgery were used to define post-PD complications,and the modified Clavien-Dindo classification was used to classify post-PD *** Over the study period,113 patients at a mean age of 57.5 years(standard deviation[SD]±9.23;range:30-90;median:56)underwent PDs at this *** complications were recorded in 33(29.2%)patients at a mean age of 53.8 years(SD:±7.9).Twenty-nine(87.9%)patients who experienced major morbidity were salvaged after aggre-ssive treatment of their ***(3.5%)died from bleeding pseudoaneurysm(1),septic shock secondary to a bile leak(1),anastomotic leak(1),and myocardial infarction(1).There was a significantly greater salvage rate in patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists scores≤2(93.3%vs 25%;P=0.0024).COnCLUSIOn This paper adds to the growing body of evidence that volume alone should not be used as a marker of quality for patients requiring *** low volumes at our facility,we demonstrated that 87.9%of patients were rescued from major *** attributed this to several factors including development of rescue protocols,the competence of the pancreatic surgery teams and continuous,and adaptive learning by the entire institution,cul-minating in the development of tailored peri-pancreatectomy protoc

Etiology of invasive candidosis agents in Russia： a multicenter epidemiological survey

A multicenter prospective epidemiological survey on the etiologic agents of invasive candidosis was conducted in Russia in the period of 2012-2014. Samples were collected from 284 patients with invasive candidosis and Candida species isolated by culture. The species were identified by DnA sequencing and MALDI-TOF mass- spectrometry. A total of 322 isolates were recovered, in which 96% of Candida species belonged to six major species, namely, C. albicans （43.2%）, C. parapsilosis （20.2%）, C. glabrata （11.5%）, C. tropicalis （9.6%）, C. krusei （6.2%）, and C. guilliermondii （5.3%）. Most Candida species were isolated from blood samples （83.23%）. notably, the prevalence rate of C. albicans reduced from 52.38% to 32.79% （2012 vs. 2014）（P = 0.01） whereas that of non-C. albicans increased from 47.62% （2012） to 67.21% （2014）（P〈 0.01）. Species distribution differed among geographical regions; specifically, the prevalence rate of C. albicans as an etiologic agent of invasive candidosis in Siberian Federal region was significantly higher than that in other Federal regions. Results indicated a shift from C. albicans to non-C, albicans. Therefore, a detailed investigation on the contributing factors and appropriate treatment of invasive candidosis is needed.

厘清农村劳动力转移与耕地利用可持续集约化之间的关系对于促进农业可持续发展具有重要意义。该研究基于1990—2020年中国省级面板数据，采用超效率SBM模型测算耕地利用可持续集约化水平，运用面板门槛模型探讨农村劳动力转移对耕地利用可持续集约化的影响效应。结果表明：1)1990—2020年中国耕地利用可持续集约化水平总体呈先下降后上升的趋势，区域间差异显著；2）农村劳动力转移对耕地利用可持续集约化存在非线性影响，当农村劳动力转移水平小于0.351时，农村劳动力转移不利于耕地利用可持续集约化的增长；超过这一门槛后，农村劳动力转移对耕地利用可持续集约化产生显著的增长效应；3）农村劳动力转移对耕地利用可持续集约化的影响存在非均衡效应，即农村劳动力转移对农业发达地区与平原地区的促进作用显著，但对农业欠发达地区与山地地区的促进作用尚不显著。基于此，应合理引导农村冗余劳动力非农转移，以推动耕地利用可持续集约化转型；同时，应注意耕地利用可持续集约化提升的自然环境禀赋与农业经济发展水平制约，因地制宜的探索适宜地区条件的耕地利用可持续集约化发展路径。

人的健康与其社会地位有着密切关系,在金字塔型社会中,不同阶层对自身健康状况的评估存在差异。同时,心理资源也是影响健康的重要因素,在社会地位与健康之间起中介作用。基于第六轮欧洲社会调查数据,通过回归模型检验中介效应,对比社会保障支出不同的两组国家,并分析宏观社会背景下健康状况、社会地位与个体心理资源之间的关系后发现,自控力、乐观心态、积极的自我评价、韧性和可靠性这五种个体心理资源将社会地位和健康状况联系起来。宏观社会背景影响心理资源的中介效应,社会保障支出不同的国家中心理资源中介效应的统计显著性也有所不同。然而,心理资源中介只能解释与教育和职业地位有关的健康不平等问题,对与主观社会地位有关的健康不平等问题的参考意义不大。

volcanic Risk Perception and Coping Strategies from Mounts Cameroon and nyiragongo Eruptions, Central Africa: A Comparative Analysis

Approximately 2,000,000 people are exposed to volcanic risks in communities situated at the flanks of Mounts Cameroon (MC) and nyiragongo (Mn) volcanoes in Central Africa. This study therefore sought to investigate risk perception from four previous eruptions of MC, namely the 1959, 1982, 1999, and 2000 eruptions;and two previous eruptions of Mn: 1977 and 2002. The study was initiated with co-design workshops held with major stakeholders in the cities of Buea and Goma at the flanks of MC and Mn, respectively, in 2017, to develop the research objectives for the study. A non-random questionnaire survey was later conducted within 14 and 15 communities in Buea and Goma respectively, on the effects, perceived risks, and coping strategies for the chosen eruptions. Three age groups (18 - 30, 31 - 45 and >45 years) and gender (male and female) were considered. The population at the flanks of both volcanoes cited scientific and indigenous factors to be responsible for eruptions from these volcanoes. At MC and Mn, ≥45% of the sampled participants (with a higher female population) perceived that the sampled eruptions posed a very high risk to the population. In terms of the effects, the age group of 18 - 30 was the least knowledgeable. In terms of direct effect on persons, over 90% of participants at MC and Mn attested that they were overcome by fear/panic. On measures to cope with any likely eruption, the following order was established at the flanks of both volcanoes: sensitization of population, use of religious (prayers) and of traditional/indigenous strategies. In terms of future coping strategies, while the males at MC maintained sensitization as the favourite option, 62% of the males at Mn opted for traditional/indigenous strategies. The female population at both MC and Mn showed a higher preference for religious strategies like prayers.

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are attracting increasing interests as photocatalysts for solar-driven hydrogen production from *** paper reports on a comparative study of using either acetic acid(AA)or trifluoroacetic acid(TFA)as the representative UiO-66 organic modulators for synthesizing visible light responsive UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:nH_(2) or nO_(2))photocatalysts for water *** results show that photocatalytic hydrogen generation from a water/methanol mixture can be improved by varying the nature and amount of the modulator employed to prepare the different UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:nH_(2) or nO_(2))solid ***-66(Zr)-nH_(2) was the most active photocatalyst,followed by UiO-66(Zr)-nO_(2),both prepared with 12 equivalents of AA with respect to the organic *** UiO-66(Zr)-nH_(2) solid was more active than the parent MOF in photocatalytic overall water splitting(OWS)(H_(2) and O_(2) production of 450 and 160μmol·g^(-1),respectively,in 5 h;apparent quantum yield(AQY)at 400 nm of 0.06%)in the absence of methanol and compares favourably with analogous *** on the photocatalytic activity of the most active solids of both series was obtained by means of a series of techniques,including ultraviolet-visible(Uv-vis)diffuse reflectance,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),laser flash photolysis(LFP),electron spin resonance(ESR),photoluminescence and photoelectrochemical measurements together with density functional theory(DFT)*** results showed that organic acid modulators can be used to enhance the photocatalytic activity of missing linker UiO-66 defective materials in solar-powered water splitting.

Chronic kidney disease is commonly diagnosed in dogs,and clinical signs may be aggravated when infected agents are *** this case report,33 dogs with chronic kidney disease were clinically evaluated and serologically tested for Leptospira spp.,Ehrlichia canis,and Anaplasma *** seroprevalence for Leptospira *** 39.4%.The most frequent serovars found were Pyrogenes,Canicola,Bratislava and Australis,with serological titers between 1:100 to 1:*** signs included fever,depression,decreased body condition.v.miting and hema‑*** laboratory fndings were anemia,leukocytosis,thrombocytopenia,increased liver enzymes,urea and creatinine,hyperbilirubinemia and *** leptospira seronegative dogs were positive for one or both monitored homoparasites(i.e.,*** and ***);only three leptospira seropositive dogs were positive for one or both *** also suggest that endemic hemoparasites of dogs should be moni‑tored in dogs with a kidney condition for a better clinical picture of the patients and therapeutic approach.

Objective Pharmacopoeias regulate the manufacture of potentised pharmaceutical preparations used in different branches of complementary and integrative *** physicochemical properties and biological activity of these preparations are often investigated in preclinical research,yet no guidelines for experimental research currently exist in this *** present PrePoP guidelines aim to provide recommendations to promote high-quality,statistically sound,and reproducible preclinical research on potentised *** Input was gathered from researchers nominated by the relevant scientific societies using a simplified Delphi consensus approach covering the most relevant aspects of basic research methodology in the field including appropriate controls,sample preparation and handling,and *** three rounds of feedback,a consensus was finally reached on the most important aspects and considerations for conducting high-quality research on potentised *** We present a series of recommendations on a range of topics including experimental controls,system stability,blinding and randomisation,environmental influences,and procedures for the preparation of potentised samples and controls,and we address some specific challenges of this research *** This expert consensus process resulted in a robust set of methodological guidelines for research on potentised preparations and provides a valuable framework that will inform and improve the quality of subsequent research in this emerging field.
