The synthesis of ultrathin rhenium disulfide(ReS_(2))nanoribbons within single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWnTs)has been *** decacarbonyl complex is encapsulated into the SWnTs to provide a source of confined rhenium atoms,which readily react with iodine to form discrete nm-sized clusters of rhenium iodide[Re_(6)l_(14)]^(2-) embedded in the *** final step of the synthesis is accomplished by admitting hydrogen sulfide gas into nano test tubes,yielding twisted nanoribbons of rhenium disulfide encapsulated in carbon nanotubes,ReS_(2)@*** width,structure,and composition of rhenium disulfide nanoribbons are strictly controlled by the extreme confinement of the host-SWnT.A holistic analytical approach combining complementary imaging and analysis methods is used at each synthetic step to elucidate the structure and composition of the guest material and reveal the role of the SWnT contributing towards the electronic interactions with encapsulated inorganic *** ReS_(2) nanoribbons are expected to retain the electronic properties of the bulk material,such as direct bandgap,the low dimensional form of this material can be of interest for use in nanoscale electronic devices.

in this work,we presented the measurements and calculations for the optimal pump conditions and their effects on thermal lens,fracture limit and laser efficiencies of end pumped Tm-doped yttrium aluminum perovskite(Tm:YAP)laser rod pumped at 1064 *** results showed that the measured overall efficiency of produced laser at~1.98μm is enhanced from 3.9%to 6.9%when the pump spot diameter is reduced from 390μm to 210μ*** maximum output power and oscillation threshold are also enhanced with reduced pump spot *** maximum thermal stress and focal length of thermally induced lens are also addressed.

Dengue is a significant public health concern across tropical and subtropical regions worldwide,principally causing disease in *** young children are at increased risk of severe manifestations of dengue *** mechanism of dengue disease in this population is not fully *** this study,we present a murine model of dengue virus primary infection in suckling C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice in order to investigate disease ***-day-old C57BL/6 mice intraperitoneally infected with DEnV-2 nGC were more susceptible to infection than BALB/c mice,showing increased liver enzymes,extended viremia,dissemination to organs and histological alterations in liver and small ***,the immune response in DEnV-infected C57BL/6 mice exhibited a marked Th1 bias compared to BALB/c *** findings highlight the possibility of establishing an immunocompetent mouse model of DEnV-2 infection in suckling mice that reproduces certain signs of disease observed in humans and that could be used to further study agerelated mechanisms of dengue pathogenesis.

An attempt has been made to investigate and optimize the recovery of ni and Al through sulphuric acid(3.0-5.5 mol/L)leaching under different operating *** the leaching experiments,it was possible to extract 98.5%of niO and 40.7%of Al_(2)O_(3)under the conditions of 5.5 mol/L H_(2)SO_(4),reaction time of 4 h,solid-to-liquid ratio 0.2 g/mL,temperature of 358 K,particle sizein with 5.0 g catalyst *** leached liquor Al was separated by selective crystallization using 1.4 mol/L KOH and ni was separated by selective precipitation using 0.3 mol/L H_(2)C_(2)O_(4).From the studies,it is possible to recover around 97.9%of niO having 98.3%purity,around 25%of Al_(2)O_(3)was also recovered as alum-(K)having 99%purity and 14.7%of Al_(2)O_(3)as a salt of Al-K-C_(2)O_(4)-SO_(4).Sulphuric acid was found to be a suitable leaching agent for selective leaching and it was also observed that alum-(K)can be selectively crystallized from sulphate *** study also indicated the effective extraction and recovery of nickel and aluminium which were well supported by characterization studies using TG-DTA/DTG and XRD techniques.

in this article, we considers the thermodynamics analysis of creeping viscous nanofluid flow in a horizontal ciliated tube under the effects of a uniform magnetic field and porous medium. Moreover, energy analysis is performed in the presence of an internal heat source and thermal radiation phenomena. The thermal conductivity of base fluid water is strengthened by considering the carbon nanotubes (CnTs). Mathematical formulation operated, results in a set of non-linear coupled partial differential equations. The governed differential system is transformed into an ordinary differential system by considering suitable similarity variables. Exact solutions in the closed form are computed for the temperature, momentum and pressure gradient profiles. in this study, special attention is devoted to the electrical conductivity of the CnTs. Streamlines patterns are also discussed to witness the flow lines for different parameters. Thermodynamics analysis shows that entropy of the current flow system is an increasing function of Brinkmann number, magnetic parameter, nanoparticle concentration parameter and Darcy number.

This article describes the fabrication of a suite of laser targets by the Target Fabrication group in the Central Laser Facility(CLF), STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory for the first academic-access experiment on the Orion laser facility(Hopps et al., Appl. Opt. 52, 3597–3601(2013)) at Atomic Weapons Establishment(AWE). This experiment, part of the POLAR project(Falize et al., Astrophys. Space Sci. 336, 81–85(2011); Busschaert et al., new J. Phys. 15, 035020(2013)),studied conditions relevant to the radiation-hydrodynamic processes occurring in a remarkable class of astrophysical star systems known as magnetic cataclysmic variables. A large number of complex fabrication technologies and research and development activities were required to field a total of 80 high-specification targets. Target design and fabrication procedures are described and initial alignment and characterization data are discussed.

A new testing methodology was developed to quantitively study galvanic corrosion of AZ31B and thermoset carbon-fiber–reinforced polymer spot-joined by a friction self-piercing riveting ***-defined areas of AZ31B in the joint were exposed in 0.1 M naCl solution over *** galvanic corrosion of AZ31B was observed as exposure time *** measured volume loss was converted into corrosion current that was at least 48 times greater than the corrosion current of AZ31B without galvanic *** percent of the mechanical joint integrity was retained for corroded F-SPR joints to 200 h and then decreased because of the massive volume loss of AZ31B。
