Objective:To study antifungal activity of a new ellagitannin isolated from the plant residues of Euphorbia antisyphilitica(***)Zucc in the wax extraction ***:An extract was prepared from dehydrated and pulverized residues and fractionated by liquid chromatography on Amberilte XAD-16,until obtained an ellagitannin-rich ethanolic fraction which was treated by rotaevaporation to recover the ellagitannin as fine *** aqueous solution was prepared and treated through ionic exchange liquid chromatography(Q XL)and gel permeation chromatography(G 25).The ellagitannin-rich fraction was thermogravimetrically evaluated(TGA and DTA)to test the thermo-stability of ellagic acid(monomeric unit).Then ellagitannin powder was analyzed by infrared spectrospcopy to determinate the functional groups *** mass spectroscopy was used to determine the molecular ***:The principal functional groups of ellagitannin were determined,the molecular weight was 860.7 g/mol;and an effective antifungal activity against phytopathogenic fungi was ***:It can be concluded that the new ellagitannin(860.7 g/mol)isolated from *** Zucc is an effective antifungal agent against Alternaria alternata,Fusarium oxyzporum,Colletotrichum gloeosporoides and Rhizoctnia solani.

Colon cancer is the third most common among cancer deaths in the US for both men and women. The incidence of colonoscopy has been soaring in younger patients, which led to changes in recent United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) guidelines to reduce the age for screening from 50 years to 45 years. Demand for colonoscopy services is surging due to increased incidences of colorectal cancer (CRC) in n>the both aging and younger population. Increased referrals have led to an insufficient workforce in hospitals and long waiting lists. Further, results from colonoscopy reveal a low percentage of CRC or another severe bowel disease (SBD). Therefore, colon cancer screening is a growing concern, particularly in patients who otherwise have a very long-life expectancy, and who are most likely to benefit from screening. Another reason to boost CRC screening is to minimize the load on hospitals by reducing the patients that undergo colonoscopy unnecessarily because only a low percentage of CRC occurrence is observed in individuals undergoing colonoscopy. In recent years, there are a variety of screening options available for CRC. Noninvasive alternatives include fecal immunochemical test (FIT), multitarget stool DNA testing (MT-sDNA, available under the brand name Cologuard), computed tomography (CT) colonography (previously called virtual colonoscopy), guaiac-based fecal occult blood testing (gFOBT), and capsule colonoscopy (CC). In Chiapas highlands to southeast of Mexico, the scarcity of water is worrying, according to technical reports of the IPCC the runoff will less between 150 to 250 mm per year in the southeast of Mexico, this situation will increase the problems of water availability in Chiapas highlands in the future. For actually more of 18,160 small rural indigenous communities (SRIC) in Chiapas there is not drinking water. In order to contribute a given solution to scarcity of drinking water in the SRIC, The Autonomous University of Chiapas (UnACH in its Spanish acronym) and Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA in its Spanish acronym) designed and constructed in 1999 the Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) in Yalentay municipality of Zinacantan in Chiapas, Mexico. The scientific and technical contributions of RWH are: The design guarantee the water quality for a prolonged time of storage avoiding the photosynthesis inside the system;not emitted greenhouse gasses because it doesn’t need any kind of fossil fuels;not produces anything kind of damage to the environment;It has to be inexpensive, using in its construction manpower and materials from de region;Store the maximum quantity of water in the minimum space. The RWH has increased the standard of living of the habitants from Yalentay and improving their health conditions.

Experience in the Production of Horizontal Ingots of Platinum Metals and Alloys

The quality of semi-products of platinum metals and alloys, produced by way of plastic working, essentially depends on or, in many cases, is completely determined by the quality of ingots. Plastic working does not make it possible to eliminate or localize metallurgical defects. In many cases it promotes the occurence thereof. Low-rate casting with directional crystallization can ensure the production of dense ingots free of non-metallic inclusions, shrinkage and gas weakness, with observance of certain temperature/rate modes. After comparative tests of vertical and horizontal molds, preference has been given to horizontal water-cooled molds, allowing to cast all alloys in the conditions of directional crystallization.

Correlation Between Coastal Geomorphology and Tsunami Inundation Along the Coast of Kanyakumari,India

An investigation has been carried out in the vicinity of the coastal villages of Kanyakumari District,India to decode the influence of coastal geomorphology on inundation degree and run-up *** though the tsunami waves approach the study area in different patterns,the consequences are found to be mainly dependent upon the coastal configuration and local geographic setting,the study area are considered to be of three types based upon the geomorphic arrangement,namely shallow coast,elevated coast and estuarine *** inundation and run-up level vary from coast to coast even though there is no remarkable variation in the intensity of the approaching tsunami *** inundation extent ranges from to 54 m to 413 m with maximum along estuarine coast and minimum along elevated *** coast recorded the maximum run-up level of about 6 m and the minimum of about 1 m along the elevated *** percentage of inundated area in the total coastal area varies between 19% to 10% along estuarine coast and elevated coast *** and run-up level cannot be appreciable in the inland along the elevated *** beaches of elevated coast are less affected whereas those of estuarine coast are highly *** is limited in the elevated beaches along the study area.

Purpose:This study aimed to evaluate running kinematic characteristics during the early and late stages of 2 high-intensity intermittent training(HIIT)protocols with similar external load but different average running pace,as well as to compare the fatigue-induced changes during both HIIT protocols at a kinematic ***:Eighteen endurance runners were tested on a track on 2 occasions:10 runs of 400 m with 90-120 s recovery between running bouts(10 × 400 m),and 40 runs of 100 m with 25-30 s recovery between running bouts(40 × 100 m).Heart rate was monitored during both protocols;blood lactate accumulation and rate of perceived exertion were recorded after both exercises.A high-speed camera was used to measure sagittalplane kinematics at the first and last runs during both HIIT *** dependent variables were spatial-temporal parameters(step length and contact and flight time),joint angles during support(relative angles of the hip,knee,and ankle),and foot strike ***:High levels of exhaustion were reached by the athletes during both workouts(blood lactate accumulation>12 mmol/L,rate of perceived exertion>15;peak heart rate(HRpeak)>176 bpm).A within-protocol paired t test(first *** run)revealed no significant changes(p≥0.05)in kinematic variables during any of the HIIT sessions.A between-protocol comparison with the first run of each protocol revealed the effect of running speed on kinematics:+2.44 km/h during the 40 × 100 m:shorter contact and flight time(pnd longer step length(p= 0.001);greater hip flexion(p = 0.031)and ankle extension(p = 0.001)at initial contact;smaller knee and ankle flexion(pnce;and greater hip extension at toe-off(pnclusion:HIIT sessions including runs for 15-90 s and performed at intensity above the velocity associated with maximal oxygen uptake did not consistently perturb the running kinematics of trained endurance runners.
