Results from simulations of plasma and neutrals under conditions predictively characterizing the detached plasma regime in the linear machine mAGnUm-PSI are presented. The relaxation of the vibrationally excited hydrogen molecules is investigated in order to establish a relation between their relaxation and dwell times, and the role of the varions mechanisms of the molecular vibrational kinetics. Tile results obtained show that the individual vibrational states have to be inclllded in the transport code for neutrals as distinct species, since the relaxation time of tile vibrational states is sufficiently longer than the typical dwell time of hydrogen molecules in the detached plasma region. The parameters of plasma and neutrals are affected by the transport of the vibrationally excited hydrogen lnolecnles. Furthermore. the rate of molecular reconlbination is overestimated by a factor of - 5 provided that the transport of ilydrogen molecules only in their ground vibrational state is considered. The role of the various processes of vibrational kinetics is studied. The vibrational excitation through singlet electronic states ires a strong influence on the molecular densities for levels with vibrational quantum numbers v≥ 5. Vibration-vibration （V-V） collisions between vibrationally excited hydrogen molecules and vibration-translation （V-T） collisions between vibrationally excited hydrogen molecules and ground state molecules and atoms are of nlinor importance in mAGnUm-PSI.

Recent reports suggest that aging is not solely a physiological process in living beings;instead, it should be considered a pathological process or disease(Amorim et al., 2022). Consequently, this process involves a wide range of factors, spanning from genetic to environmental factors, and even includes the gut microbiome(Gm)(mayer et al., 2022). All these processes coincide at some point in the inflammatory process, oxidative stress, and apoptosis, at different degrees in various organs and systems that constitute a living organism(mayer et al., 2022;AguilarHernández et al., 2023).

For patients who are unresponsive to pharmacological treatments of glaucoma,an implantable glaucoma drainage devices(GDD)are often used to manage the intraocular ***,the microscale channel that removes excess aqueous humor from the anterior chamber often gets obstructed due to biofouling,which necessitates additional surgical *** we demonstrate the proof-of-concept for smart self-clearing GDD by integrating magnetic microactuators inside the drainage tube of *** magnetic microactuators can be controlled using externally applied magnetic fields to mechanically clear biofouling-based obstruction,thereby eliminating the need for surgical *** this work,our prototype magnetic microactuators were fabricated using low-cost maskless photolithography to expedite design *** fabricated devices were evaluated for their static and dynamic mechanical *** transient numerical analysis,the fluid–structure interaction of our microactuator inside a microtube was characterized to better understand the amount of shear force generated by the device ***,the anti-biofouling performance of our device was evaluated using fluorescein isothiocyanate labeled bovine serum *** microactuators were effective in removing proteinaceous film deposited on device surface as well as on the inner surface of the microchannel,which supports our hypothesis that a smart self-clearing GDD may be possible by integrating microfabricated magnetic actuators in chronically implanted microtubes.

Polyimides are widely used as chip passivation layers and organic substrates in microelectronic packaging. Plasma treatment has been used to enhance the interfacial properties of polyimides, but its molecular mechanism is not clear. In this research, the effects of polyimide surface plasma treatment on the molecular structures at corresponding polyimide/air and buried polyimideJepoxy interfaces were investigated in situ using sum frequency generation （SFG） vibrational spectroscopy. SFG results show that the polyimide backbone molecular structure was different at polyimide/air and polyimideJepoxy interfaces before and after plasma treatment. The different molecular structures at each interface indicate that structural reordering of the polyimide backbone occurred as a result of plasma treatment and contact with the epoxy adhesive. Furthermore, quantitative orientation analysis indicated that plasma treatment of polyimide surfaces altered the twist angle of the polyimide backbone at corresponding buried polyimide/epoxy interfaces. These SFG results indicate that plasma treatment of polymer surfaces can alter the molecular structure at corresponding polymer/air and buried polymer interfaces.

AIm:To examine trends in and correlates of liver disease and viral hepatitis in an human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected cohort. mETHODS:The multi-site adult/adolescent spectrum of HIV-related diseases (ASD) followed 29 490 HIVinfected individuals receiving medical care in 11 U.S. metropolitan areas for an average of 2.4 years,and a total of 69 487 person-years,between 1998 and 2004. ASD collected data on the presentation,treatment,and outcomes of HIV,including liver disease,hepatitis screening,and hepatitis diagnoses. RESULTS:Incident liver disease,chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV),and hepatitis C virus (HCV) were diagnosed in 0.9,1.8,and 4.7 per 100 person-years. HBV and HCV screening increased from fewer than 20% to over 60% during this period of observation (P n 57% of those diagnosed with liver disease relative to 15% overall (P mong individuals with a diagnosis of liver disease. Despite care guidelines promoting screening and vaccination for HBV and screening for HCV,screening and vaccination were not universally conducted or,if conducted,not documented. COnCLUSIOn:Due to high rates of incident liver disease,viral hepatitis screening,vaccination,and treatment among HIV-infected individuals should be a priority.
