The paper includes discussions on the important role of neutron and alpha configurations in proton-rich nuclei in nuclear astrophysics in terms of nucleosynthesis under extremely high-temperature hydrogenburning conditions. The νp-process, which is supposed to take place at the very early epoch of type II supernovae, has considerable neutrons and alphas together with protons. The alpha-induced reactions on proton-rich unstable nuclei in the light mass regions is expected to play a crucial role, but very few of them were investigated well yet because of the experimental difficulties. Specifically, I report our recent experimental effort for the breakout process from the pp-chain region,~7Be(α, γ)^(11)C(α,p)^(14)n under the νp-process. The neutron-induced reactions on proton-rich nuclei, which is even more a challenging subject, were investigated previously for very few nuclei. One possible experimental method is the Trojan Horse Method(THM). We successfully have applied THM to the ^(18)F(n,α)^(14)n reaction study with an unstable beam of ^(18)F.

Astrophysical interest in the 30P(p,γ)31S reaction involves several explosive scenarios principally classical nova outbursts. Examination of n-T_(9) conditions required by n=50,82,126 waiting points in r-process

We examined the conditions of neutron density(n) and temperature(T9) required for the n = 50, 82,and 126 isotopes to be waiting points(WP) in the r-process. The nuclear mass based on experimental data presented in the AME2020 database(AME and AME ± Δ) and that predicted using FRDM,WS4, DZ10, and KTUY models were employed in our estimations. We found that the conditions required by the n = 50 WP significantly overlap with those required by the n = 82 ones, except for the WS4 model. In addition, the upper(or lower) bounds of the n-T9 conditions based on the models are different from each other due to the deviations in the two-neutron separation *** standard deviations in the nuclear mass of 108 isotopes in the three n = 50, 82, and 126 groups are about rms = 0.192 and 0.434 Me V for the pairs of KTUY-AME and WS4-KTUY models,respectively. We found that these mass uncertainties result in a large discrepancy in the nn-T_(9) conditions, leading to significant differences in the conditions for simultaneously appearing all the three peaks in the r-process abundance. The newly updated FRDM and WS4 calculations can give the overall conditions for the appearance of all the peaks but vice versa for their old versions in a previous study. The change in the final r-process isotopic abundance due to the mass uncertainty is from a few factors to three orders of magnitude. Therefore, accurate nuclear masses of the r-process key nuclei, especially for 76 Fe,81Cu,127Rh,132Cd,192Dy, and 197Tm, are highly recommended to be measured in radioactive-ion beam facilities for a better understanding of the r-process evolution.

A High-order Coupled Compact Integrated RBF Approximation Based Domain Decomposition Algorithm for Second-order Differential Problems

This paper presents a high-order coupled compact integrated RBF(CC IRBF)approximation based domain decomposition(DD)algorithm for the discretisation of second-order differential *** Schwarz DD algorithms,including one-level additive/multiplicative and two-level additive/multiplicative/hybrid,are *** CCIRBF based DD algorithms are analysed with different mesh sizes,numbers of subdomains and overlap sizes for Poisson *** convergence analysis shows that the CCIRBF two-level multiplicative version is the most effective algorithm among various schemes employed ***,the present CCIRBF two-level method converges quite rapidly even when the domain is divided into many subdomains,which shows great promise for either serial or parallel *** practical tests,we then incorporate the CCIRBF into serial and parallel two-level multiplicative *** numerical examples,including those governed by Poisson and navier-Stokes equations are analysed to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the serial and parallel algorithms implemented with the *** results show:(i)the CCIRBF-Serial and-Parallel algorithms have the capability to reach almost the same solution accuracy level of the CCIRBF-Single domain,which is ideal in terms of computational calculations;(ii)the CCIRBF-Serial and-Parallel algorithms are highly accurate in comparison with standard finite difference,compact finite difference and some other schemes;(iii)the proposed CCIRBF-Serial and-Parallel algorithms may be used as alternatives to solve large-size problems which the CCIRBF-Single domain may not be able to deal *** ability of producing stable and highly accurate results of the proposed serial and parallel schemes is believed to be the contribution of the coarse mesh of the two-level domain decomposition and the CCIRBF *** is noted that the focus of this paper is on the derivation of highly accurate serial and parallel algorithms

In this study, a two-stage method is presented for identifying multiple damage scenarios. In the first stage, the damage locating vector （DLV） method using normalized cumulative energy （nce） is employed for damage localization in structures. In the second stage, the differential evolution algorithm （DE） is used for damage severity of the structures. In addition, in the second stage, a modification of an available objective function is made for handing the issue of symmetric structures. To verify the effectiveness of the present technique, numerical examples of a 72-bar space truss and a one-span steel portal frame are considered. In addition, the effect of noise on the performance of the identification results is also investigated. The numerical results show that the proposed combination gives good assessment of damage location and extent for multiple structural damage cases.

Fabrication of zinc-based coordination polymer nano-cubes and post-modification through copper decoration

Coordination polymer particles (CPPs) with a high degree of porosity and multi-functional reaction sites are promising for diverse applications. The integration of open sites favorable for the post-modification of CPPs presents a unique opportunity for the rational design of inorganic materials with target-oriented functions. Herein, we report a shape-controllable synthetic protocol for zinc-based coordination polymer nanocubes (Zn-CPns). In the synthesis, 2,6-bis[(4-carboxyanilino)carbonyl] pyridine ([n3]) ligand is employed as an efficient shape-directing modulator to control the size and shape of Zn-CPns. More importantly, the [n3] ligand provides metal binding sites suitable for the decoration of other functional metals such as copper ions. The copper-modified Zn-CPns (Cu_Zn-CPns) show good activities in a heterogeneous catalytic reaction.

We report new heterogeneous organocatalyst based on silica hybrid supported n-heterocyclic carbene(nHC-)*** organocatalyst is formed from an imidazolium iodide based ionosilica material,followed by iodide/acetate anion *** imidazolium acetate generates the organocatalytic carbene via partial deprotonation of the imidazolium ring in *** monitored via EDX,solid state nMR and ion chromatography measurements,the iodide/acetate exchange involving the imidazolium ionosilica material took place only in small *** the fact that the exchanged material contains only a very small amount of acetate,we observed good catalytic activity and recyclability in cyanosilylation reactions of ketones with trimethylsilyl *** versatility of the catalyst was highlighted via reaction with several substrates,yielding the corresponding cyanohydrins in good *** recycling experiments,the material showed decreasing catalytic activity starting from the third reaction cycle,but high catalytic activity can be regenerated via another acetate *** work is important as it highlights the possibility to combine carbene chemistry and silica,which are antagonistic at a first *** show that imidazolium acetate based ionosilicas are therefore heterogeneous'proto-carbenes',and that there is no need to form strongly basic silica supported nHCs to obtain heterogeneous *** work therefore opens the route towards heterogeneous and re-usable nHC-organocatalysts from supported ionic liquid imidazolium acetates.
