Objective:Male paediatric patients presenting with abdominal and/or testicular pain are common in the emergency department.As a time-sensitive diagnosis,the importance of early recognition,referral,and definitive management is critical.Missed or delayed diagnoses and management of testicular torsion can result in significant long-term sequelae including impaired fertility and psychological burden.In this quality improvement study,we utilised educational posters aiming to improve awareness of testicular torsion as a differential for abdominal pain and therefore,improve the quality of testicular examinations performed in the emergency department.Methods:Observational pre-and post-intervention study was conducted at a tertiary hospital emergency department.A pre-interventional retrospective review of the electronic medical records was conducted.All male patients under 16-years-old presenting with“abdominal pain”or“testicular problem”were included.We assessed the rate of testicular examination and the quality of the examination based on four domains:Cremasteric reflex,lie,swelling,and hardness.Educational posters targeting both patients and clinicians were placed around the emergency department.Subsequent review of the electronic medical records post-intervention was performed assessing the same domains.Results:A total of 235 presentations were analysed with 124 in the pre-intervention group and 111 in the post-intervention group.Overall rate of documented testicular examinations increased by 14%(p=0.032).The quality of testicular examinations also improved from an average of 0.85 domains documented to 2.29 post-intervention(pnalysis found doctors in training had a greater improvement in both rate and quality of documented testicular examination.Conclusion:Our study demonstrated the value of continuing education in promoting awareness of testicular torsion in the emergency department.We found a clear improvement in the quality of clinical documentation of a time-sensitive condition which may infer a

A detailed computational investigation,based on density functional theory,of the interaction of polyani-line(PAnI)and graphene nanoribbons(GnRs)with SrTiO_(3) is presented.The adsorption of PAnI in var-ious oxidation states and co-adsorption with GnRs is found to be thermodynamically favourable.Ad-sorbed PAnI introduces n and C 2p states into the SrTiO_(3) bandgap,while co-adsorption of PAnI and GnRs leads to a bridging of the gap and semi-metallic behaviour,thus rendering the electrical properties highly sensitive to the loading of the GnRs/PAnI in the composites.Modelling the lattice dynamics of the composites predicts a 68-88%reduction in the lattice thermal conductivity due to reduced phonon group velocities.Taken together,these findings provide insight into the growing number of experimental studies highlighting the enhanced thermoelectric performance of oxide-polymer composites and indicate co-adsorption with graphene as a facile direction for future research.

AIM To determine the impact ofm low volume high-intensity interval training(LVHIIT) and continuous low to moderate-intensity exercise training(CLMIT) on cardiovascular disease(CVD) risk and health outcomes in cancer survivors.METHODS Sedentary cancer survivors(n=75,aged 51±12year)within 24 months of diagnosis,were randomised into three groups for 12 wk of LVHIIT(n=25),CLMIT(n=25)or control group(n=25).The exercise intervention involved 36 sessions(three sessions per week).The LVHIIT group performed 7 x 30 s intervals(≥85%predicted maximal heart rate)with a 60 s rest between intervals,and the CLMIT group performed continuous aerobic training for 20 min(≤55%predicted maximal heart rate)on a stationary bike.Outcome variables were measured at baseline and at12 weeks and analysed using a 3 x 2(group x time)repeated measures AnCOVA to evaluate main and interaction effects.RESULTS Significant improvements(time)were observed for seven of the 22 variables(ES 0.35-0.97,P≤0.05).There was an interaction effect(Pn the LVHIIT group for six-minute walk test(Pnd test(Pnd waist circumference reduction(P=0.01;d=-0.48;95%CI:-1.10,0.10;medium).An interaction effect(Pn both the LVHIIT(d=1.11;95CI:0.50,1.72;large)and CLMIT(d=0.57;95%CI:-0.00,1.20;moderate)compared with the control group(d=-0.15;95%CI:-0.95,0.65;trivial).COnCLUSIOn Low-volume high-intensity training shows promise as an effective exercise prescription within the cancer population,showing greater improvements in cardiorespiratory fitness,lower body strength and waist circumference compared with traditional CLMIT and control groups.Both LVHIIT and CLMIT improved quality of life.A proposed benefit of LVHIIT is the short duration(3 min)of exercise required,which may entice more cancer survivors to participate in exercise,improving health outcomes and lowing the risk of CVD.

The Lu-Zong (Lujiang-Zongyang) basin is one of the most important volcanic basins in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River area, China. It comprises four shoshonitic volcanic units, which are, in an ascending order, the Longmenyuan, Zhuanqiao, Shuangmiao and Fushan Groups. The LA-ICP MS U-Pb zircon ages of the four units are: 134.8±1.8 Ma for the Longmenyuan Group, 134.1±1.6 Ma for the Zhuanqiao Group, 130.5±0.8 Ma for the Shuangmiao Group, and 127.1±1.2 Ma for the Fushan Group. The results indicate that all volcanic rocks in the Lu-Zong basin were formed in the Early Cretaceous from about 135 Ma to 127 Ma, lasting 8-10 Ma. There were no Jurassic volcanic activities in all the volcanic basins including the Lu-Zong basin in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River area. This work has provided new chronological results for the further study and understanding of the tec- tonic, magmatic and metallogenic processes of eastern China in the Mesozoic.

激光剥蚀电感耦合等离子体质谱(LA-ICP-MS)是一种固体微区分析新技术。用该技术来分析矿床中硫化物的微量元素组成可以为研究成矿流体特征、矿床成因及找矿勘探提供有关的科学信息。文中以安徽铜陵矿集区内新桥Cu-Au-S矿床中的黄铁矿为研究对象,在详细的野外观察和室内鉴定的基础上,将矿床中的黄铁矿分为具有沉积特征的胶状黄铁矿(PyⅠ)、具有变形重结晶和热液叠加作用特征的细粒他形黄铁矿(PyⅡ)和具热液成因特征的中—粗粒自形黄铁矿(PyⅢ)3种类型。LA-ICP-MS原位微量元素测定结果显示,PyⅠ中相对富含Ti、Co、ni、As、Se、Te;PyⅡ继承了PyⅠ中富含Ti、Co、ni、As、Se、Te、Bi的特征,同时还含有不均匀分布的少量成矿元素(Cu、Pb、Zn、Au、Ag);PyⅢ中成矿元素Cu、Pb、Zn、Ag、Au以及Bi元素的含量较高,Co、ni、As的含量较低。在元素赋存状态方面,Co、ni、As、Se和Te均以类质同象的形式进入到了黄铁矿的晶格中;Bi在PyⅡ中主要以含Bi矿物的微细包裹体形式存在,而在PyⅢ中的Bi还部分取代了Fe而占据了晶格;Cu、Pb、Zn、Au、Ag这些成矿元素中,Cu和Zn分别以黄铜矿和闪锌矿的矿物包裹体存在于黄铁矿中;PyⅡ中所含的少量Au、Ag,可能分别以自然金和自然银的形式存在,而在PyⅢ中Au可能主要以银金矿的形式存在,Ag除了以银金矿的形式存在以外还可能赋存于黄铁矿中含铋的矿物包裹体内;Pb主要赋存于黄铁矿中的方铅矿或含铋矿物的包裹体中。在综合分析黄铁矿的结构形态和微量元素组成特征的基础上认为,PyⅠ型黄铁矿可能形成于前人提出的晚古生代海底沉积或喷流沉积环境,PyⅡ和PyⅢ型黄铁矿分别形成于中生代区域构造变形-热液叠加改造的过渡环境和热液环境,PyⅡ和PyⅢ的形成时间相近。新桥矿床的形成可能经历了晚古生代海底沉积或喷流沉积期和燕山期热液期,胶黄铁矿主要形成于沉积成矿期,而矿床中成矿物质Cu、Pb、Zn、Au、Ag等主要来自燕山期岩浆侵入作用形成的热液成矿系统。

The ning-Wu(nanjing-Wuhu) Basin is one of the most important volcanic basins in the Middle-Lower Yangtze River Valley,eastern China.It consists of four volcanic units,i.e.,the Longwangshan,Dawangshan,Gushan,and niangniangshan Formations.Their LA-ICP MS U-Pb zircon ages are 134.8±1.8,132.2±1.6,129.5±0.8,and 126.8±0.6 Ma,respectively.Results of this study indicate that all volcanic rocks in the ning-Wu Basin were formed in the Early Cretaceous from 135 to 127 Ma,lasting 8-10 m.y.no Jurassic volcanic activities occurred in any of the volcanic basins of the Middle-Lower Yangtze River Valley,including the ning-Wu Basin.These new chronological results provide significant evidence for further study of this region to improve our understanding of Mesozoic tectonic,magmatic,and metallogenic processes of eastern China.

从含铬废弃物提取的水解蛋白质与不同量的戊二醛 ,在不同的温度下反应。用聚酰胺凝胶电泳法 (SDS -PAGE)分析了改性蛋白质的分子量及分子量分布。用CanonManning粘度法测定了改性产物的粘度。实验表明改性产物的分子量随戊二醛的用量增加而增加。最佳的戊二醛用量约为水解胶原质量的 12 % ,反应温度大于 6 0℃。同时 ,用改性产物做了皮革的填充实验 ,用萤光标记改性胶原 ,通过扫描电镜研究了填充皮革的纤维结构。研究结果表明 ,改性产物具有较好的填充性能 ,采用适当的应用工艺 ,改性产物可能用作皮革填充剂。

宁芜盆地是长江中下游地区最重要的火山岩盆地之一,发育有龙王山、大王山、姑山和娘娘山4组以安山质火山岩为主的地层.通过对4组火山岩中熔岩的锆石LA-ICP MS同位素定年,得到各组火山岩形成的时间分别为：龙王山组（134.8±1.3）Ma、大王山组（132.2±1.6）Ma、姑山组（129.5±0.8）Ma和娘娘山组（126.6±1.1）Ma.宁芜盆地内火山岩皆形成于早白垩世,火山岩浆活动发生的起止时间约为135~127Ma,持续时间在8~10Ma左右.包括宁芜盆地在内的长江中下游地区各火山岩盆地均不存在侏罗纪火山岩浆活动.研究结果为进一步探讨和认识长江中下游及中国东部中生代构造-岩浆-成矿作用提供了新的年代学成果.

We report the case of a 29- year- old man with chronic plaque psoriasis who developed linear IgA disease following herpes zoster infection. There has only been one previous report describing the coexistence of psoriasis and linear IgA disease, which was confirmed by immunopathological studies. In our patient, immunoblotting studies identified IgA antibodies binding to BP180 and BP230 antigens, and IgG autoantibodies binding weakly to the BP180 antigen. This is an interesting case that we believe is an example of epitope spreading in the development of autoimmune subepidermal bullous diseases.
