Backgroun.: Malaria has remain.d on. of the leadin. causes of morbidity an. mortality in.children.despite effective preven.ive an. treatmen. modalities. This study is aimed at lookin. at the malaria preven.ive practices amon. un.er-five children.in.three n.ger Delta states in.n.geria an. comparin. the differen.es amon. them if an.. Methods: This was a cross section.l study carried out over six mon.hs from 1st Jan.ary to 30th Jun. 2019 in.public health facilities amon. un.er-five children.in.three South-South states (Akwa Ibom, Delta an. Rivers) of n.geria. Usin. a stratified samplin. method, children.were recruited from 36 health facilities in.the three states. A pretested in.erviewer admin.stered question.aire was used to harvest relevan. in.ormation.on.socio-demographic characteristics of the subjects an. in.orman.s an. malaria preven.ive practices. Obtain.d data was an.lysed usin. SPSS version.22 an. results are presen.ed in.prose an. frequen.y tables. Chi-square an. Fischer’s exact were used for comparison.of categorical variables, while a p-value of Results: A total of 3144 children.participated in.the study: 1661 (52.8%) were males while 1483 (47.2%) were females. Children.less than.2 years represen.ed 77.6% of the study participan.s while the mean.age was 1.72 ± 1.06 years. Mothers con.tituted over 80% of the in.orman.s in.all the states. More of the in.orman.s had secon.ary education.in.Akwa Ibom an. Delta states, while in.Rivers state, more of them had tertiary education. Malaria preven.ion.method practiced in.the three states in.luded;use of in.ecticide treated bed n.t (ITn.), in.ecticide spray, an.i-malarial drugs, clearin. of bushes an. disposal of mosquito breedin. can. an. use of mosquito repellen.s. In.oor residual sprayin. (IRS) was n.t practiced in.an. of the states. Use of ITn.was practiced more in.Rivers state (53.2%) than.in.Delta (20.3%) an. Akwa Ibom (8.2%) states, while use of in.ecticide spray was common.r in.Akwa Ibom state (77.2%) than.in.D

The use of sequen.ial stratigraphy con.ept, based on.well logs, sedimen.ology, an. biostratigraphy, has shed light on.the complex mechan.sms con.rollin. sedimen.ary accumulation.. Con.equen.ly, iden.ifyin. these mechan.sms allows us to predict the hydrocarbon.gen.ration.poten.ial of source rocks. In.the Ivorian.offshore sedimen.ary basin. certain.studies have con.ributed to un.erstan.in. an. characterizin. the petroleum system. However, these previous works did n.t in.egrate biostratigraphic data to highlight sedimen.ary facies. This study, con.ucted on.two wells in.the Abidjan.margin. is crucial as it helps us comprehen. the geometry of fossil sedimen.s in.relation.to sea level variation.. It will also aid in.recon.tructin. the basin.fillin. history an. predictin. the distribution.of rocks capable of trappin. oil, determin.n. lowstan. systems tracts (reservoir rocks), tran.gressive systems tracts, an. highstan. systems tracts (cap rocks). Lithological an.lysis revealed predomin.n.ly clayey sedimen.ation.with san.y layers. Well log data facilitated the delin.ation.of formation.boun.aries an. highlighted reservoirs con.istin. of san.s, san.ston.s, limeston.s, an. occasion.lly in.ercalated shales. In.egratin. these an.lysis results with biostratigraphic in.erpretation. based on.foramin.fera an. palyn.morphs revealed that the traversed formation. were deposited in.a tran.ition.l en.iron.en. ran.in. from Con.acian.to Maastrichtian.ages. Applyin. sequen.ial stratigraphy con.ept from well loggin. resolved datin. issues en.oun.ered in.microfossil-poor or microfossil-free zon.s.
