Peripheral n.rve in.uries in.uce a severe motor an. sen.ory deficit. Sin.e the availability of autologous n.rve tran.plan.s for n.rve repair is very limited, altern.tive treatmen. strategies are sought, in.ludin. the use of tubular n.rve guidan.e con.uits(tn.Cs). However, the use of tn.Cs results in.poor fun.tion.l recovery an. cen.ral n.crosis of the regen.ratin. tissue, which limits their application.to short n.rve lesion.defects(typically shorter than.3 cm). Given.the importan.e of vascularization.in.n.rve regen.ration. we hypothesized that en.blin. the growth of blood vessels from the surroun.in. tissue in.o the regen.ratin. n.rve within.the tn.C would help elimin.te n.crotic processes an. lead to improved regen.ration. In.this study, we reported the application.of macroscopic holes in.o the tubular walls of silk-based tn.Cs an. compared the various features of these improved silk^(+) tn.Cs with the tubes without holes(silk^(–) tn.Cs) an. autologous n.rve tran.plan.s in.an.8-mm sciatic n.rve defect in.rats. Usin. a combin.tion.of micro-computed tomography an. histological an.lyses, we were able to prove that the use of silk^(+) tn.Cs in.uced the growth of blood vessels from the adjacen. tissue to the in.ralumin.l n.ovascular formation. A sign.fican.ly higher n.mber of blood vessels in.the silk^(+) group was foun. compared with autologous n.rve tran.plan.s an. silk^(–), accompan.ed by improved axon.regen.ration.at the distal coaptation.poin. compared with the silk^(–) tn.Cs at 7 weeks postoperatively. In.the 15-mm(critical size) sciatic n.rve defect model, we again.observed a distin.t in.rowth of blood vessels through the tubular walls of silk^(+) tn.Cs, but without improved fun.tion.l recovery at 12 weeks postoperatively. Our data proves that macroporous tn.Cs in.rease the vascular supply of regen.ratin. n.rves an. facilitate improved axon.l regen.ration.in.a short-defect model but n.t in.a critical-size defect model. Of con.ern.is a viscoelastic beam modelled usin. the Timoshen.o theory. It is well-kimwn.that the system is expon.n.ially stable if the kern.l in.the memory term is sub- expon.n.ial. That is, if the product of the kern.l with an.expon.n.ial fun.tion.is a summable fun.tion. In.this article we address the question.： What if the kern.l is tested again.t a differen. fun.tion.（say Gamma） other than.the expon.n.ial fun.tion. Would there still be stability？ In.the affirmative, what kin. of decay rate we get？ It is proved that for a n.n. decreasin. fun.tion.＂Gamma＂ whose ＂logarithmic derivative＂ is decreasin. to zero we have a decay of order Gamma to some power an. in.the case it decreases to a differen. value than.zero then.the decay is expon.n.ial.

biometrics-based authen.ication.system offers advan.ages of providin. high reliability an. accuracy. However the con.emporary authen.ication.system is impuissan.e to compromise. If a biometrics data is compromised, it can.ot be replaced an. ren.ered un.sable. In.this paper, a can.elable biometrics-based authen.icator is proposed to solve this irrevocability issue. The proposed approach is a two-factor authen.ication.system, which requires both of the ran.om data an. facial feature in.order to access the system. In.this system, token.zed pseudo-ran.om data is coupled with momen.based facial feature via in.er product algorithm. The output of the product is then.discretized to gen.rate a set of private bin.ry code, coin.d as 2factor-Hashin. code, which is acted as verification.key. If this biometrics-based verification.key is compromised, a n.w on. can.be issued by replacin. a differen. set of ran.om n.mber via token.replacemen.. Then. the compromised on. is ren.ered completely useless. This feature offers an.extra protection.layer again.t biometrics fabrication.sin.e the verification.code is replaceable. Experimen.al results demon.trate that the proposed system provides zero Equal Error Rate in.which there is a clear separation.in.between.the gen.in. an. the imposter distribution.population..

Season.l developmen. of soil microbial activity an. bacterial biomass in.sub-polar region. was in.estigated to determin. the impacts of biotic an. abiotic factors, such as organ.c matter con.en., temperature an. moisture. The study was performed durin. sprin. thaw from three cultivated meadows an. two n.n.cultivated forest sites n.ar Alta, in.n.rthern.n.rway. Samples from all five sites showed in.reasin. respiration.rates directly after the sprin. thaw with soil respiration.activity best related to soil organ.c matter con.en.. However, distribution. of bacterial biomass showed fewer similarities to these two parameters. This could be explain.d by variation. of litter exploitation.through the biomass. Microbial activity started immediately after the thaw while root growth had a lon.er time lag. An.in.luen.e of root developmen. on.soil microbes was proposed for sites where microorgan.sms an. roots had a tight relation.hip caused by a more in.en.ive root structure. Also a reduction.of microbial activity due to soil compaction.in.the samples from a wheel track could n.t be observed un.er laboratory con.ition.. n.w methodological approaches of differen.ial stain.n. for live an. dead organ.sms were applied in.order to follow chan.es within.the microbial commun.ty. Un.er laboratory con.ition. freeze an. thaw cycles showed a damagin. in.luen.e on.parts of the soil bacteria. Addition.lly, differen. pattern. for active vs. n.n.active bacteria were n.ticeable after freeze-thaw cycles.
