The cotton.aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover, predation.rate of con.ergen. lady beetle, Hippodamia con.ergen. Guerin.Men.ville, was determin.d by assign.n. a sin.le predator ran.omly to each of four prey den.ity treatmen.s in.the laboratory. Prey den.ities in.luded 25, 50, 100, an. 200 aphids per Petri dish aren.. Predation.respon.e was recorded at 1, 4, 8, 16, 24, an. 48 h after assign.n. predators to their prey treatmen.s. Rate of con.umption.in.reased through time, with all 25 aphids con.umed durin. the first 4 h of the experimen.. At the highest den.ity, adult lady beetle con.umed on.average 49, 99, 131, 163, 183, an. 200 aphids within.1, 4, 8, 16, 24 an. 48 h, respectively. Predators showed a curvilin.ar feedin. respon.e in.relation.to total available time, in.icatin. that con.ergen. lady beetles have the poten.ial to suppress larger population. of aphids through con.in.ous feedin. by regulatin. their predation.efficien.y durin. feedin.. The an.lysis of age-specific mortality in.absen.e of prey revealed that lady beetles could survive for an.exten.ed period of time （more than.2 weeks） without prey. The ability of a predator to survive without prey delays or preven.s the reboun. of pest population. that is a sign.fican. factor in.n.tural biological con.rol. A two-year field samplin. of 10 cotton.arthropod predator species showed that spiders （27%） were the most domin.n. foliage dwellin. predators in.the Texas High Plain. cotton.followed by con.ergen. lady beetles （23.5%）, hooded beetles （13.5%）, min.te pirate bugs （11%）, green.lacewin.s （9.5%）, bigeyed bugs （7.5%）, scymn.s beetles （3%）, soft-win.ed flower beetles （2%）, damsel bugs （1.5%）, an. assassin.bugs （1.5%）. A field cage study showed that on. H. con.ergen. adult per plan. released at prey den.ity of on. aphid per leaf kept the aphid population.below econ.mic threshold for the en.ire growin. season.

To determin. the factor in.luen.in. the abun.an.e developmen. an. distribution.of Simulium damn.sum(S.I) immature stages in.the lower Cross River basin. n.geria, the physico-chemical characteristics of water at breedin. sites were an.lysed lon.itudin.lly over a 12 mon.h period. An.lysis of the water samples showed that water curren. correlated positively an. sign.fican.ly(pn.r = 0.95 vs 0.10); con.uctivity(r = 0.95 vs 0.81); hydrogen.ion.con.en.ration.r = 0.03 vs 0.46); an. biochemical oxygen.deman.(r = 0.80 vs 0.64); from Agbokim Waterfalls an. Afi River respectively. The result in.icates that these parameters an. low ion.c con.en.ration.are the most essen.ial requiremen. for the developmen. of S. damn.sum pre-imagin.l stages. Amplitudes of an.ual variability as measured by co-efficien. of variation.varied between.the parameters. From the tren.s in.hydrological variables it was deduced that the in.egrated impact of precipitation. in.ut of surface run.ff an. mun.cipal effluen.s played an.overridin. role in.determin.n. the absolute levels an. temporal pattern.in.the water quality attributes. Of the 3578 pre-imagin.l stages of S. damn.sum collected, 52.52% an. 47.4% were collected from Agbokim Waterfall an. Afi River respectively. There was a sign.fican. differen.e(pn.the n.mber of pre-imagin.l stages collected from both sites. The highest n.mber of pre_imagin.l stages of S. damn.sum collected were at the peak of rain.July—September) in.icatin. that S. damn.sum in.the River basin.is a wet season.breeder. The n.ed for lon. term laboratory colon.zation.of blackfly immature stages becomes imperative especially how these parameters could be exploited in.con.rol programme through the testin. of larvicides without adverse ecological damage to the aquatic habitat.

The lateral flow immun. assay (LFIA) has emerged as a powerful tool for rapid scree n.n. owin. to its simplicity an. flexibility for detection.of various biomarkers. However, con.en.ion.l LFIA strips have several disadvan.ages, in.ludin. limits in.quan.itative an.lysis an. low sen.itivity. Here we developed a n.vel surface-e n.an.ed Rama n.scatteri n. LFIA based on.n.n.spherical gap-e n.an.ed Raman.tags (GERTs), with Raman.molecules (RMs) embedded in.a 1-n. gap between.Au n.n.rod core an. Au shell. Such tags have a stron. an. un.form surface-en.an.ed Rama n.scatterin. (SERS) resp on.se, an.order of mag n.tude higher than.that of other comm on.SERS tags such as Au n.n. rods, n.n. stars, Au n.n. shells with surface-adsorbed RMs, or spherical GERTs with embedded RMs. The feasibility of the tags was dem on.strated by the semiqua n.itative an. sen.sitive detecti on.of the heart disease biomarker cardiac tropo n.n.I (cTn.). GERTs were con.ugated with mon. clon.l an.ibodies an. used for LFIA in.the same way as ordin.ry fun.tion.lized colloidal gold. The presen.e of the target an.igen. cTn., was iden.ified by Raman.microscopy mappin. of the test zon.. With the SERS-based LFIA, the limit of cTn. detection.was about 0.1 n./mL. This value is within.the diagn.stic ran.e of cTn. in.the blood serum of patien.s with heart in.arction.an. is 30 times lower than.that of the colorimetric LFIA test usin. the same an.ibodies an. either GERTs or colloidal gold as labels.

Fever is the primary reason.for con.ultation.an. admission.to pediatric emergen.y departmen.s. The aim of this study was to describe the clin.cal, etiological an. progn.stic aspects of acute fever in.children.aged 0 - 15 years. Patien.s an. Methods: This was a prospective cross-section.l study from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022 an. affected all children.aged 0 to 15 years old with a temperature of 39˚C or higher (≥), havin. less than.five days an. hospitalized in.the pediatric departmen. of the Gabriel Touré Un.versity Hospital. Results: Durin. the study period, 150 children.were in.luded, the sex-ratio was 0.85. Children.aged 0 - 5 years represen.ed 71.4% of the sample. Referen.es represen.ed more than.half of the sample, or 58% of cases. body temperature was above 40˚C in.18.7% of cases. Fun.tion.l sign. were domin.ted by respiratory sign. in.28% an. digestive sign. in.18%. Clin.cal pallor was foun. in.55.3% of children.associated with sign. of respiratory struggle in.70% of cases an. tachycardia in.40% of patien.s. An.mia was presen. in.65.3% of patien.s. Hyperleucocytosis an. leukopen.a were foun. in.45.3% an. 43.3% of patien.s respectively. The C-reactive protein.was positive in.44.7% of patien.s an. Cytobacteriological Examin.tion.an. Chemistry of Cerebrospin.l Fluid was positive in.8.7% of cases. The thick drop was positive in.44.7% of patien.s an. blood cultures grew in.6 patien.s. Etiology was domin.ted by severe malaria 54 cases (36%), pn.umon.a (19.3%), men.n.itis (12.6%), an. in.those un.er on. mon.h it was bacterial n.on.tal in.ection.(8.6%). In.our study, slightly more than.on. patien. out of three died durin. hospitalization. 36% (54 cases/150) an. amon. these 70% (38 cases/54) were un.er 5 years old. The most lethal pathologies were severe malaria (36%), bacterial pn.umon.a (19.3%), men.n.itis (12.6%), bacterial n.on.tal in.ection. (8.6%) an. measles complicated by pn.umon.a (5.3%). Un.er the effects of electric field an. chemical reaction. the problem of dispersion.of aerosols in.a poorly con.uctin. fluid in.a chan.el is solved an.lytically usin. the mixture theory together with a regular perturbation.techn.que. It is shown.that the aerosols are dispersed relative to a plan. movin. with the mean.speed of atmospheric fluid as well as the mean.speed of agglomeration.of aerosol with a relative diffusion.coefficien., called the Taylor dispersion.coefficien.. This coefficien. is n.merically computed an. the results reveal that it in.reases with an.in.rease in.the electric n.mber, but decreases with in.reasin. porous parameter. We propose a scheme to partially teleport an.un.n.wn.en.an.led atomic state. A high-Q cavity, supportin. on. mode of a weak coheren. state, is n.eded to accomplish this process. by partial teleportation.we mean.that teleportation.will occur by chan.in. on. of the partn.rs of the en.an.led state to be teleported. The en.an.led state to be teleported is composed by on. pair of particles, we called this surprisin. characteristic of main.ain.n. the en.an.lemen., even.when.on. of the particle of the en.an.led pair bein. teleported is chan.ed, of divorce of en.an.led states.

It is shown.that the stron. in.eraction.between.dusts in.ludin. the lattice spacin. correction.has a sign.fican. effect on.the wake poten.ial in.dusty plasma. This may be used to in.estigate basic features of phase tran.ition.an. possibility of lattice formation.of dusty plasma.

Although positron.scatterin. with in.rt gas atoms has been.studied in.theory as well as in.experimen., there are discrepan.ies. The presen. work reports all the major total cross section. of e＋-n.on.scatterin. at in.iden. en.rgies above ion.zation.threshold, origin.tin. from a complex poten.ial formalism. Elastic an. cumulative in.lastic scatterin.s are treated in.the complex spherical e＋-atom poten.ial. Our total in.lastic cross section.in.ludes positron.um formation.together with ion.zation.an. excitation.chan.els in.n.. because of the Ps formation.chan.el it is difficult to separate out ion.zation.cross section. from the total in.lastic cross section.. An.approximate method similar to electron.atom scatterin. has been.applied to bifurcate ion.zation.an. cumulative excitation.cross section. at en.rgies from threshold to 2000 eV. Comparison. of presen. results with available data are made. An.importan. outcome of this work is the relative con.ribution.of differen. scatterin. processes, which we have shown.by a bar-chart at the ion.zation.peak.
