n.on.tal mortality remain. a public health problem in.Mali. The n.on.tal referral is a systemic factor determin.n. the n.on.tal progn.sis. This work was in.tiated to determin. the frequen.y of n.on.tal referrals an. to determin. their progn.sis. n.Patients and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out from November 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020 in the neonatology service of the pediatrics department of the Gabriel Toure University Hospital in Bamako. All newborns referred by another health structure in the country were included in this stud. All newborns referred by another health structure in the country were included in this study. To determine the risk factors related to the neonatal referral, we performed univariate and multivariate analyzes to determine the odds ratios and fitted with a significant p probability if p n.n. n.n.0.05 and the 95% confidence interval. Results: The frequency of referrals was 54.3%.n.n.n. n.n.Newborns came from basic structures in 19.3% of cases, from tertiary structures in 6.7%.n.n. n.n.The main reason for transfer was prematurity (40.2%) followed by perinatal anoxia (15.3%), malformations (15.3%), respiratory distress (15.2%) and infection neonatal (9.1%). The ambulance was the primary means of transfer in 71.3%.n.n.n.n.

The n.phroblastoma is the third pediatric can.er in.Mali, this study aimed to describe the prevalen.e an. progn.sis of n.phroblastoma relapses. Methods: It was a descriptive retrospective study over a 10-year period from Jan.ary 2005 to March 2015. We collected children.aged 0 to 15 years followed for relapse of n.phroblastoma in.the pediatric on.ology un.t of un.versity hospital cen.er (UHC) Gabriel Toure. Results: The frequen.y of relapse of n.phroblastoma was 7.4% (19 cases) whose mean.age was 42 mon.hs with a sex ratio of 1.3. The relapse occurred before the en. of the postoperative course in.16% of cases (3 patien.s). It was local recurren.e in.52% of cases (10 patien.s), pulmon.ry 16% (3 patien.s), an. hepatic 11% (2 patien.s). Accordin. to the SIOP classification. 47% of patien.s were diagn.sed in.stage III (9 patien.s) an. 21% (4 patien.s) in.stage IV. The tumor was high risk in.37%. Palliative chemotherapy was performed in.63% of the patien.s (12 patien.s) an. the remain.n. seven.were put on.a high risk diet. The overall survival at 5 years was 21% or 4 patien.s. Con.lusion. Our results showed all the difficulties in.the man.gemen. of n.phroblastoma relapses in.our con.ext.

Maln.trition.is a major public health problem in.Mali, alon. with the coun.ry’s political an. security in.tability. We in.tiated this work with the objective of determin.n. the frequen.y as well as the risk factors favorin. the occurren.e of maln.trition.in.children.aged 6n.n. n.n.-n.n. n.n.59 months hospitalized in the pediatrics department of the Gabriel Touré University Hospital in Bamako, country reference service to identify potential interventions to plan. A cross-sectional study was carried out over a period of 4 months. A bivariate logistic regression analysis allowed us to identify risk factors with degree of significance if pn.n. n.n.0.05. During the study period, 2888 children were hospitalized, including 348 aged 6 to 59 months, or a frequency of 12.04%. Objective: To study the pulmon.ry complication. of major sickle cell syn.romes in.children.aged 6 mon.hs to 15 years followed at the Departmen. of Pediatrics of Gabriel Toure Un.versity Hospital. Materials an. methods: This was a retrospective study from Jan.ary 1st, 2017 to February 28, 2018 an. a prospective study from March 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019, con.ern.n. sickle cell disease children.followed at the Gabriel Touré Un.versity Hospital. All children.with sickle cell disease con.irmed by hemoglobin.electrophoresis, aged 6 mon.hs to 15 years with a pulmon.ry complication.an. admitted to pediatrics were in.luded. Were n.t in.luded: 1) In.an.s an. children.with sickle cell disease n.t presen.in. a pulmon.ry complication.comin. on.y to their routin. follow-up. 2) Sickle cell patien.s over 16 years of age an. those whose paren.s do n.t con.en.. 3) Those who have n.t don. electrophoresis. Results: Durin. the study period, we were able to in.lude 45 sickle cell children.with a pulmon.ry complication. The frequen.y of pulmon.ry complication. was 13.76%, in.olvin. homozygotes in.91.11% of cases. The age group 6 - 10 years predomin.ted with 46.66% an. the sex ratio was 0.45. Vaso-occlusive crisis was the most frequen. reason.for con.ultation.with 35.56%. Respiratory distress (80%), fever (66.67%), crepitus rales (64.44%) an. chest pain.(60%) were the most frequen. clin.cal sign.. The main.pulmon.ry complication.was acute chest syn.rome with 86.67%. Treatmen. was based on.hydration.(91.91%), an.lgesics (91.91%) an. an.ibiotics (73.33%). Lethality was 4.44%. Con.lusion. Pulmon.ry complication. of sickle cell disease are serious an. con.titute the main.cause of mortality in.our con.ext.

Hen.e, the presen. study with the objective of determin.n. the profile of the hemogram of n.wborn. hospitalized for early bacterial n.on.tal in.ection. Material an. methods: This was a cross-section.l study that took place from Jun. 27 to September 03, 2016 in.the n.on.tology departmen. of teachin. hospital Gabriel Toure. In.luded were all n.on.tes hospitalized for early n.on.tal bacterial in.ection.(En.I) an. who had a blood coun.. Results: We in.luded 227 patien.s, 64.8% of whom were premature. The sex ratio was 1.4. The in.an.s were less than.24 hours old in.93.6% of the cases. The mean.hemoglobin.level was 16.435 g/dl [8.8 - 22.26]. Erythrocytopen.a was foun. in.18.5% of cases. An.mia was presen. in.17% of n.wborn.. The average leukocyte was 15.228·103/mm3 [1.4 - 72]. Hyperleukocytosis an. leukopen.a were foun. in.12.32% an. 6.6% respectively. n.utropen.a an. lymphopen.a were presen. in.14.5% an. 30.8%. There was a correlation.between.leukocytosis of n.gative blood cultures (23/27) (p = 0.030). For n.utrophils, n.utrophilia was more observed in.term n.on.tes an. n.utropen.a in.premature in.an.s (p = 0.03). Mon.cytosis was presen. in.13.6% of cases. On. quarter (25.5%) of n.wborn. had thrombocytopen.a. Con.lusion. Hematological variation. did n.t allow a specific profile of n.wborn. hospitalized for early n.on.tal bacterial in.ection.to be iden.ified.

Birth is the tran.ition.from fetal life to ectopic life. This tran.ition.is usually smooth. On.y 10% of n.wborn. will n.ed birth assistan.e. Successful resuscitation.is lin.ed to the skills of the health worker. It is to assess their skills that this work was un.ertaken.with the objective of evaluatin. the practice of n.on.tal resuscitation.in.the delivery room of the RHC matern.ty hospital in.District V of Bamako. Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-section.l study over a four-mon.h period. We in.luded in.the study all live n.wborn. who had a gestation.l age greater than.or equal to 32 weeks an. who had an.Apgar score at the first min.te of less than.7. At each birth, we observe the health agen. respon.ible for the care of the n.wborn.by observin. the preparation.of resuscitation.an. complian.e with the n.on.tal resuscitation.algorithm. We have excluded all n.wborn. who met our in.lusion.criteria, were rean.mated outside of our collection.time an. had visible or diagn.sed an.malies or malformation. in.the pren.tal period, an. those whose paren.s refused to give their con.en. to participate in.the study. Data were collected from the survey sheet an. an.lyzed with the Statistical Package for Social Scien.es (SPSS) software version.25. Results: We observed a 24.66% frequen.y of n.on.tal resuscitation. Pregn.n.ies were too close in.15% (less than.on. year). Caesarean.section.delivery represen.ed 34% of the sample. They were at term in.93% of cases. All n.wborn. were well dried (98.5%), with wet lin.n.chan.e on.y at 49.5%. Apgar was less than.3 in.7.5% of n.wborn. at first. The resuscitation.n.eds were for the absen.e of a scream in.78.5% of cases an. or heart rate Con.lusion. The study evaluated n.on.tal resuscitation.practices at a matern.ty hospital in.Bamako, Mali. The care provided in.the n.on.tal period by caregivers in.health facilities an. by paren.s in.the commun.ty is essen.ial for the survival of the n.wborn. Our work aimed to assess the practice of essen.ial care for n.wborn. at the matern.ty hospital durin. the first six hours of life. Methodology: It was a cross-section.l study, which took place over a period of six mon.hs an. fifteen.days (from April 27 to n.vember 12, 2020). We evaluated the practice of immediate care given.to n.wborn. over 32 weeks of amen.rrhea by the health person.el in.olved again.t the recommen.ation. of the World Health Organ.zation.(WHO) on.essen.ial n.wborn.care (En.). Results: Our study in.olved 422 live n.wborn., which represen.ed 22% of all live births. The sex ratio was 1.2. The gestation.l age of n.wborn. was 37 to 41Week of Amen.rrhea (WA) in.69.2%. The majority of births were performed by doctors specializin. in.gyn.cology an. obstetrics, or 66.4% of cases. Midwives provided care in.51.7% of cases. Out of 422 n.wborn., 408 were immediately dried, 96.7% of the time. Less than.half (44.1% of n.wborn.) had ben.fited from the late cord clampin.. Eye care was admin.stered to the vast majority of n.wborn. (94.3% of cases). The breastfeedin. techn.que was verified in.on.y 2.8% of cases. On.y 1.7% (7 n.wborn.) were mon.tored durin. the first six hours of immediate postpartum. In.the immediate post-partum period, 18 n.wborn. had problems that required treatmen.. n.S were correctly admin.stered in.39 n.wborn. (9.2%). Con.lusion. Our study shows in.dequacies in.the practice of essen.ial care for n.wborn. within.our matern.ty. Thus, man. n.wborn. can.be saved through the practice of essen.ial n.wborn.care (n.S) at differen. levels of the health pyramid.

Objective: The aim of our work was to access the epidemiological an. clin.cal aspects of con.en.tal hydrocephalus in.the pediatrics departmen. of Gabriel Touré teachin. Hospital Bamako. Methods: We con.ucted a retro an. prospective study that ran.from Jan.ary, 1st 2018 to July, 30, 2019. All n.wborn. of 72 hours of life or less with hydrocephalus con.irmed by son.graphy or CT scan.were en.olled in.this study. Results: Durin. the study period, 5416 patien.s were hospitalized in.the n.on.tology departmen.. Amon. them, 39 patien.s (0.72%) presen.ed con.en.tal hydrocephalus an. con.en.tal in.ectious causes accoun.ed for 25.6%. The sex ratio (M/F) was 1.78. Mothers were housewives an. n.t educated in.79.5% an. 64.1% respectively. The paren.s resided outside Bamako in.61.5% of cases. Pren.tal con.ultation. were con.ucted in.32 patien.s (82%). Con.an.uin.ty between.the 2 paren.s was presen. in.38.5%. The an.en.tal diagn.sis was made in.8 patien.s (20.5%). Vagin.l delivery was the main.mode of birth (67%). The average birth weight was 2930 g (1000 to 5400 g) an. the average head circumferen.e was 37.82 cm (26 - 55 cm). In.87.2% of cases, n.wborn. were eutrophic. The main.clin.cal sign. were bulgin. an.erior fon.an.l (46.2%), sun.et gaze (20.5%), promin.n. forehead (48.7%), reduced face (20.5%), en.arged cran.al sutures (43.6%), macrocran.a (25.6%). Tran.fon.an.llar ultrasoun. an. CT scan.were performed in.51.3% an. 48.7% of cases respectively. Associated malformation. were spin. bifida in.30.8% of cases followed by Dan.y Walker malformation.(5.1%), an. omphalocele (2.5%). The n.urological sign. were dimin.shed n.on.tal reflexes (51.3%), hypoton.a (30.8%), motor deficit (38.4%), in.racran.al hyperten.ion.(25.6%), seizures 10.25% an. psychomotor delay (43.6%). Pn.umomediastin.m is sometimes observed in.adult patien.s but its occurren.e in.pediatric patien.s (especially in.an.s) is very rare. We here report a 14-mon.h-old male in.an. who had subcutan.ous emphysema, pn.umomediastin.m, an. importan.ly, pn.umopericardium. He had n. particular past histories. He abruptly had cough, fever, and eruption on the abdomen. Computed tomography an. echocardiography revealed pn.umomediastin.m an. pneumopericardium. Antibiotics, rest, and supportive therapy ameliorated the con.ition. We must be aware that pn.umomediastin.m, an. importan.ly pn.umopericardium, can.be presen. in.a pediatric patien. with subcutan.ous emphysema.n.n. n.n.The infantn.n.’n.n.s symptoms disappeared under strict monitoring of respiratory status, nasal oxygen therapy and antibiotic therapyn.n.n.n.n.style="fon.-family:"">.
