Purpos.: The purpos. of this.s.udy was.to evaluate the impact of photodyn.mic therapy (PDT) on.the regulation.of an.iogen.c factors.s.ch as.vas.ular en.otheli al growth factor (VEGF)-an. pigmen. epithelium derived factor (PEDF) in.human.e yes. Methods. Eyes.of patien.s.with un.reatable malign.n.y s.rved as.the s.udy e yes.(n.2), age-matched don.r eyes.were us.d as.con.rols.(n.2). s.an.ard Vertepo rfin.PDT was.applied to in.act areas.of the pos.erior pole. On. week after PDT the eyes.were examin.d by ophthalmos.opy as.well as.fluores.ein.(FA) an. in.ocya n.n. green.an.iography (ICGA). After en.cleation.the eyes.were proces.ed for LM/ em his.ology. Immun.labelin. us.n. s.ecific an.ibodies.again.t VEGF an. PEDF was.performed in.PDT-treated areas. un.reated collateral areas.of s.udy eyes.an. u n.reated areas.of con.rol eyes. Res.lts. Although as.ociated with high efficacy in.the preven.ion.of dis.as., the curren. an.i-diphtheria vaccin., on. of the compon.n.s.of DTP (diphtheria, tetan.s.an. pertus.is.triple vaccin.), may pres.n. pos. vaccin.tion.effects.s.ch as.toxicity an. reactogen.city res.ltin. from the pres.n.e of con.amin.n.s.in.the vaccin. that origin.ted durin. the proces. of production.an./or detoxification.
