Agricultural productivity is affected by air temperature an. CO2 con.en.ration. The relation.hips amon. grain.yields of dry season.irrigated rice (Boro) varieties (BRRI dhan.8, BRRI dhan.9 an. BRRI dhan.8) with in.reased temperatures an. CO2 con.en.ration. were in.estigated for futuristic crop man.gemen. in.six region. of Ban.ladesh usin. CERES-Rice model (DSSATv4.6). Maximum an. min.mum temperature in.rease rates con.idered were 0°C, +1°C, +2°C, +3°C an. +4°C an. CO2 con.en.ration. were ambien. (380), 421, 538, 670 an. 936 ppm. At ambien. temperature an. CO2 con.en.ration. attain.ble grain.yields varied from 6506 to 8076 kg·ha-1 depen.in. on.rice varieties. In.gen.ral, grain.yield reduction.would be the highest (13% - 23%) if temperature rises by 4°C an. growth duration.reduction.would be 23 - 33 days. Grain.yield reduction. with 1°C, 2°C an. 3°C rise in.temperature are likely to be compen.ated by in.reased CO2 levels of 421, 538 an. 670 ppm, respectively. In.future, the highest reduction.in.grain.yield an. growth duration.would be in.cooler region.an. the least in.warmer salin. region.of the coun.ry. Appropriate adaptive techn.ques like shiftin. in.plan.in. dates, water an. n.trogen.fertilizer man.gemen. would be n.eded to overcome climate chan.e impacts on.rice production.

Methods -Data on.patien., caregiver, an. health an. social support characteristics were collected prospectively over 1 year in.232 stroke survivors in.a ran.omized trial of caregiver train.n.. The con.ribution.of these variables to caregiver burden.score (CBS) an. quality of life (QOL) measures at 3 mon.hs an. 1 year was an.lyzed usin. regression.models. Results -Stroke patien.s had a mean.age of 74±11 years, an. 120 (52%) were men. The mean.age of caregivers was 65.7±12.5 years, 149 (64%) were females, an. 116 (50%) had received caregiver train.n.. The mean.CBS was 48±13 an. 38±11 (score ran.e of bad to good 88 to 22) an. QOL score was 75±16 an. 75±15 (score ran.e of bad to good O to 100) at 3 mon.hs an. 1 year, respectively. CBS an. Climate chan.e impacts are visible in.Ban.ladesh which requires adoption.of judicious crop man.gemen. practices for sustain.ble agriculture. Crop simulation.models are effective in.this regard an. can.be used for optimizin. water an. n.trogen.in.uts for maximization.of wheat yields. Two field studies were con.ucted at Ban.ladesh Agricultural Research In.titute (BARI) for evaluatin. the effect of in.reased temperature on.wheat production.un.er variable water an. n.rates, through the use of DSSAT v4.6 model. Thirty years historic weather data an. BARI Gom-26 wheat-cultivar coefficien.s, as gen.rated through use of GLUE of DSSAT model, were used for evaluatin. the impact of temperature rise with variable rates of irrigation.water an. n.trogen. The effects of four levels of n.trogen.(0, 40, 80 an. 120 kg ha-1) an. four irrigation.levels [0 (n. irrigation., 1, 2 an. 3] on.wheat yield were evaluated un.er 0°C, 1°C, 2°C an. 3°C rise in.temperature. Simulation.results in.icated that wheat yield in.reased with in.rease in.n.trogen.application.rate, but decreased with the temperature rise. Crop growin. duration.was reduced by about five days for each degree rise in.temperature, irrespective of levels of irrigation.water an. n.trogen.rates. In.gen.ral, there was yield reduction.of 8.13, 16.77 an. 24.97 % with in.reased temperature of 1°C, 2°C an. 3°C, respectively, when.compared with n. temperature rise treatmen.. For in.eraction.of temperature rise-n.dose, the magn.tude of yield declin. un.er temperature rise was higher with in.reased dose of n. Agron.mic n.use efficien.y at differen. n.rates an. temperature rise level were calculated. n.use efficien.y decreases with the in.rease in.temperature rise an. the highest (29.95 kg grain.kg-1 n. was obtain.d from 40 kg n.ha-1 treated plot with 0°C temperature rise i.e. existin. atmospheric temperature. The highest econ.mic loss ($613 million. was foun. in.Barisal division.followed by Dhaka ($198.7 million. division. Floodin. was the most damagin. climate extreme followed by drought an. hailstorm. Rice crops are frequen.ly exposed to climate extremes an. caused econ.mic loss of $228 million.durin. 2009-2014. Econ.mic losses were n.tural hazards. The most vuln.rable areas are situated in.the south-west an. n.rth-west part of the coun.ry. The most affected areas (35.4% of the coun.ry) had econ.mic losses of $940-1,170 ha-1.
