离子化学热处理(渗氮、碳氮共渗、渗碳)适用于机器钢件、铸件以及工具的表面强化。离子化学热处理的准备工序包括机械清理零件表面、去油污(如用8％浓度的TMC—31号水溶液在60～70℃水温下进行)、热水冲洗以及用热空气烘干或在室温下凉干。离子化学热处理有一系列处理工序,其中首要的是在辉光放电后马上利用微电弧清除零件上的有机物残余(油污、乳化剂等)。根据零件的多少(即零件的总面积)以及零件的污垢程度,清除时间为0.5小时到4小时不等。随着清除上序的进行,零件的温度上升到250～280℃。由于去油污及冲洗后一般在清洗剂难接触的地方(如中心处,孔洞。
