Applying Virtual Reality to Molecular Graphics System

Molecular graphics can be thought of as a window to the computer through which the chemist expresses ideas for computational evaluation and receives results in an understandable form. Furthermore, with beautiful graphic images it can give out the realistic molecular model like a real thing in real *** has various properties including volume, electronic, van der Waals forces, etc. These properties are very important to understand the molecular world. So if the virtual reality tools are used, then the imaginary world can be studied intuitively by touching and feeling a tremendous amount of *** chemistry generates such amount of molecular property data through supercomputing with molecular simulation experiment. One of the objects to investigate the molecular world is to understand the intermolecular interaction such as drug-receptor interaction. Another thing is to measure the geometrical data in molecular architecture. Virtual reality system provides the easiest way to meet these objects. This kind of simple system changes a numerical data set, which is very difficult to deal with, into a visible and understandable data set. Recently two functions of such a system were improved to get an insight into biomolecular interaction. The first one is a real time force generation during navigation in macromolecular environment. An cylindrical arrow shows the magnitude and direction of molecular force. The second one is to see a moIecular vibration such as a concerted motion of the binding site in protein molecule. So one can understand the molecular shape change for drugreceptor docking procedure. But some problems which are difficult to solve still remain.

Automatic Discontinuity Classification of Wind-turbine Blades Using A-scan-based Convolutional Neural Network

Recent development trends in wind power generation have increased the importance of the safe operation of wind-turbine blades(WTBs). To realize this objective, it is essential to inspect WTBs for any defects before they are placed into operation. However, conventional methods of fault inspection in WTBs can be rather difficult to implement, since complex curvatures that characterize the WTB structures must ensure accurate and reliable inspection. Moreover, it is considered useful if inspection results can be objectively and consistently classified and analyzed by an automated system and not by the subjective judgment of an inspector. To address this concern,the construction of a pressure-and shape-adaptive phased-array ultrasonic testing platform, which is controlled by a nanoengine operation system to inspect WTBs for internal defects, has been presented in this paper. An automatic classifier has been designed to detect discontinuities in WTBs by using an A-scanimaging-based convolutional neural network(CNN). The proposed CNN classifier design demonstrates a classification accuracy of nearly 99%. Results of the study demonstrate that the proposed CNN classifier is capable of automatically classifying the discontinuities of WTB with high accuracy, all of which could be considered as defect candidates.

＜正＞ 1 INTRODUCTION In plant industry, machine structure or machinery maintains its function by combination or co-relation of many structural parts. When a part of machine structure takes a severe damage by external forces, it can be exchanged by new parts. Before repair working process of the structure, integrity of damaged structure should be evaluated at deformed status. Also, after restoration by suitable work process, repaired structure has to be confirmed safety of structure. In this study, when a part of large size cylindrical structure is plastically deformed by external force, residual stress of structure was evaluated during deformation and restoration process by the finite element analysis.

Plants possess effective immune systems that defend against most microbial *** plant immunity research has focused on the classic binary defense model involving the pivotal role of small-molecule hormones in regulating the plant defense signaling *** most of our current understanding comes from studies that relied on information derived from a limited number of pathosystems,newer studies concerning the incredibly diverse interactions between plants and microbes are providing additional insights into other novel ***,we review the roles of both classical and more recently identified components of defense signaling pathways and stress hormones in regulating the ambivalence effect during responses to diverse *** of their different lifestyles,effective defense against biotrophic pathogens normally leads to increased susceptibility to necrotrophs,and vice *** these opposing forces,the plant potentially faces a trade-off when it mounts resistance to a specific pathogen,a phenomenon referred to here as the ambivalence *** also highlight a novel mechanism by which translational control of the proteins involved in the ambivalence effect can be used to engineer durable and broad-spectrum disease resistance,regardless of the lifestyle of the invading pathogen.

Effectiveness and safety of traditional chinese herbs in children with cough variant asthma: a systematic review and Meta-analysis

OBJECTIVE:To systematically investigate the clinical effectiveness and safety of traditional chinese herbs(TCHs)as an alternative to conventional medicine(CM)in children with cough variant asthma(CVA).METHODS:Randomized controlled trial(RCT)studies that were published from their inceptions to March 31,2020,were identified from the electronic databases of china National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wangfang,Pub Med,and Cochrane Central *** primary outcome of the review was the total effective rate(TER),and the secondary outcomes were immunoglobulin E(Ig E),peak expiratory flow(PEF),adverse drug reactions,and relapse rates of ***:For the Meta-analysis,13 studies involving 992 children with CVA were *** terms of TER and Ig E,the experimental interventions of TCH,when compared with the control interventions of CM,on pediatric CVA were found to be significantly effective(P<0.0001),whereas for spirometry,PEF was not significantly improved in the TCH group(P=0.48).The incident rates of adverse drug reaction and relapse were found to be significantly lower in the TCH group than those in the CM group(P=0.02 and P<0.0001,respectively).CONCLUSION:Compared with CM therapy,the effects of TCH therapy on pediatric CVA were significantly beneficial in terms of TER and Ig E,but not for PEF,and the methodological quality of included studies was ***,the results should be interpreted with *** randomized controlled trials with rigorous experimental methodologies are required for objectivity in the future.

Gyejibokryeong-hwan improves recovery of injured muscles in mouse model of muscle contusion

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Gyejibokryeong-hwan(Guizhifuling-wan, GBH) on muscle injury in a mouse model of muscle ***: C57/BL6 mouse biceps femoris muscles were injured using the drop-mass method and injured animals were treated orally with GBH(50,100, or 500 mg/kg) once a day for 7 d. Open field and treadmill running tests were performed to assess functional recovery from muscle injury. The production of pro-inflammatory cytokines was examined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and Western blotting analysis. Expression of the muscle regeneration biomarkers, myoblast determination(Myo D), myogenic factor 5(Myf5), and smooth muscle actin(α-SMA), in the biceps femoris muscle was investigated at the protein and m RNA level by Western blotting and real time-PCR, respectively. Histological analysis was performed using hematoxylin and eosin staining. Finally, myosin heavy chain production was investigated in differentiated C2C12 myoblasts in the presence of ***: GBH treatment markedly improved locomotion and running behavior. GBH significantly inhibited the secretion of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 into the bloodstream in muscle-contused animals. The levels of Myo D, Myf5, and α-SMA protein and m RNA were significantly up-regulated by GBH in injured muscle tissue. Histological studies suggested that GBH facilitated recovery from muscle damage. However, GBH did not induce the production of myosin heavy chain in ***: Overall, the present study suggested that GBH improves the recovery of the injured muscles in the mouse model of muscle contusion.
