BACKGROUND Hepatitis B virus(HBV) is a cause of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Interestingly, this process is not necessarily mediated through cirrhosis and may in fact involve oncogenic processes. Prior studies have suggested specific oncogenic gene expression pathways were affected by viral regulatory proteins. Thus, identifying these genes and associated pathways could highlight predictive factors for HCC transformation and has implications in early diagnosis and *** To elucidate HBV oncogenesis in HCC and identify potential therapeutic *** We employed our search, Tag, Analyze, Resource platform to conduct a meta-analysis of public data from National Center for Biotechnology Information’s Gene Expression Omnibus. We performed meta-analysis consisting of 155 tumor samples compared against 185 adjacent nontumor samples and analyzed results with ingenuity pathway *** Our analysis revealed liver X receptors/retinoid X receptor(RXR) activation and farnesoid X receptor/RXR activation as top canonical pathways amongst others. Top upstream regulators identified included the Ras family gene rab-like protein 6(RABL6). The role of RABL6 in oncogenesis is beginning to unfold but its specific role in HBV-related HCC remains undefined. Our causal analysis suggests RABL6 mediates pathogenesis of HBV-related HCC through promotion of genes related to cell division, epigenetic regulation, and Akt signaling. We conducted survival analysis that demonstrated increased mortality with higher RABL6 expression. Additionally, homeobox A10(HOXA10) was a top upstream regulator and was strongly upregulated in our analysis. HOXA10 has recently been demonstrated to contribute to HCC pathogenesis in vitro. The continuous rise in heat dissipation of integrated circuits necessitates advanced thermal solutions to ensure system reliability and efficiency. Thermoelectric coolers are among the most promising techniques for dealing with localized on-chip hot spots. This study focuses on establishing a holistic optimization methodol- ogy for such thermoelectric coolers, in which a thermo- electric element＇s thickness and the electrical current are optimized to minimize source temperature with respect to ambient, when the thermal and electrical parasitic effects are considered. It is found that when element thickness and electrical current are optimized for a given system architecture, a ＂heat flux vs. temperature difference＂ Pareto frontier curve is obtained, indicating that there is an optimum thickness and a corresponding optimum current that maximize the achievable temperature reduc- tion while removing a particular heat flux. This methodol- ogy also provides the possible system level AT＇s that can be achieved for a range of heat fluxes, defining the upper limits of thermoelectric cooling for that architecture. In this study, use was made of an extensive analytical model, which was verified using commercially available finite element analysis software. Through the optimization process, 3 pairs of master curves were generated, which were then used to compose the Pareto frontier for any given system architecture. Finally, a case study wasperformed to provide an in-depth demonstration of the optimization procedure for an example application.

CHAMP high-quality vector magnetometer observations collected from July 2000 to september 2010 have been used to map the residual vector magnetic anomaly fields. This field is so called the lithospheric magnetic field which is the result of two contributions of the induced and the remanent magnetization. It is therefore essential to study the magnetic properties of the crustal rocks. Isolating this field from the other contributions, interpreting and even defining are however difficult and still debated. We investigate how to identify and separate the lithospheric vector magnetic field ΔX, ΔY and ΔZ from other contributions. For this purpose we use selected night magnetic data from which we remove a model field of degree 16 and external model field of degree 2 developed by spherical harmonics analysis. Concerning the induced lithospheric field which is assumed to be aligned with the internal dipole was also removed. To minimize the secular variation effects, we calculated internal models for each two months. The method developed here has been successfully applied to isolate lithospheric field produced by remanent magnetizations from CHAMP satellite data. The resolution and altitude measurements make it very hard to map short wavelength crustal magnetic anomalies. The large-scale strong magnetic anomalies detected using this technique are in agreement with previous global magnetic maps. These anomalies appear with an amplitude of about 10 nT at satellite altitude such as Bangui’s anomaly.
