AIM: To determine the mechanical properties of anasto- motic colonic tissue in experimental settings and there- fore give a measure of wound healing. METHODS: Thirty-six male Wistar rats were used as ex- perimental models of anastomotic tissue integrity. On the 5th post-operative day, the tensile strength was measured by application of an axial force, providing a quantitative measure of anastomotic dehiscence and leakage. RESULTS: Diagrams of the load as a function of the time [P = P (t)] and of the displacement also as a func- tion of time [Δs = Δs (t)] were recorded for each test, permitting the design of the load versus the displace- ment diagram and thus providing significant data about the critical values of anastomotic failure. Quantitative data were obtained concerning the anastomotic strength of both control specimens (healthy rats), as well as spec- imens from non-healthy rats for comparison. CONCLUSION: This experimental model provides an excellent method of measuring anastomotic strength. Despite the relative small number of specimens used, this method provides an accurate way of measuring wound repair. More experimental measurements need to be performed to correlate emerging tensile strength val-ues to anastomotic failure.

The current paper focuses on the prediction of residual stresses and distortions in the Laser Powder Bed Fusion(LPBF)built Ti6Al4V thin-walled geometries using Ansys Additive Print(AAP)software which employs a layer-by-layer accumulation of inherent strain to calculate the *** and anisotropic strain scaling factors were calibrated initially within the APP software for the Ti6Al4V based single cantilever beam ***,the numerical simulations were performed in APP software and computed the residual stresses and distortions for the varied process parameters including laser power,scan speed and hatch distance while maintaining the layer thickness constant for all the design *** numerical predictions were compared;they were found to match reasonably well with the XRD measurements within the calibrated regime.

From heavy fermion compounds and cuprates to iron pnictides and chalcogenides, a spin resonance at hΩ0 ∝ kBTc is a staple of nearly magnetic superconductors. Possible explanations include a two-particle bound state or loss of magnon damping in the superconducting state. While both scenarios suggest a central role for magnetic fluctuations,distinguishing them is important to identify the right theoretical framework to understand these types of unconventional superconductors. Using an inelastic neutron scattering technique,we show that the spin resonance in the optimally doped Fe1.03 Se0.4 Te0.6 superconductor splits into three peaks in a high magnetic field,a signature of a two-particle S = 1 triplet bound state.

Despite being the most widely used unit infield mapping and having the greatest number of active researchers, the interval known as Quaternary is unique among the chronostratigraphic subdivisions of the geological Time Scale （gTS） in having the most controversial definition and rank. After more than 100 years of debate, the base of the Quaternary is now widely recognized at -2.6 Ma, marking a dramatic and so-far irreversible shift to the ice-age-dominated world of oscillating glacial advances over the northern continents.

Combine harvesters are important in that grain and legumes directly affect the production *** the other hand,it forms an important branch of the agricultural machinery *** are many unknown constraints on machines when harvesting with a combine harvester,including the noise and vibration that occur in the combine harvester *** study aims to analyze noise and vibration in conventional combine harvesters using *** accelerometers were installed on each side of the concave and two microphones were used to register the noise of the threshing *** result showed that effects of machine speeds(3.5 km/h,4.5 km/h and 5.5 km/h)and rotor speeds(950 r/min,850 r/min and 950 r/min)were significantly important for the mean range values of the left and right accelerometer in the X,Y and Z *** machine’s speed and rotor speed were not significantly important for the mean range values of the left and right microphones.

In this work, density functional theory plane-wave pseudo potential method, with local density approximation (LDA) and generalized gradientapproximation (ggA) are used to investigate the structural, elastic, mechanical and thermodynamic properties of the intermetallic compoundMg3Rh. Comparison of the calculated equilibrium lattice constants and experimental data shows very good agreement. The elastic constants weredetermined from a linear fit of the calculated stress-strain function according to Hooke’s law. From the elastic constants, the bulk modulus B, shearmodulus g, Young’s modulus E, Poisson’s ratio σ, anisotropy factor A, the ratio B/g and the hardness parameter H for Mg3Rh compound areobtained. Our calculated elastic constants indicate that the ground state structure of Mg3Rh is mechanically stable. The calculation results showthat this intermetallic crystal is stiff, elastically anisotropic and ductile material. The sound velocities and Debye temperature are also predictedfrom elastic constants. This is the first quantitative theoretical prediction of these properties.
