Background: Several epidemiological studies have been carried to identify the risk factors for developing breast cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk factors associated with breast cancer in different age groups in the Moroccan women and to determine susceptible and protective factors. Methods: This was?a case control study?including 400 women with breast cancer and 400 controls of the National Institute of Oncology Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah, Rabat, Morocco from 2008 to 2010. These women were interviewed for epidemiological information and risk factor for breast cancer. Results: Early age at menarche, late menopause, oral contraceptive and family history with first degree were positively associated with breast cancer in all the series and in the age group between 22 and 34 years. In the age group between 44 and 34 years, a risk of breast cancer was associated only with a family history of breast cancer. In the age group of 45 years or older, the factors which seem to influence a breast cancer are: late menopause, oral contraceptive and family history in the first degree. In contrast, early childbearing, multiparity and lactation were negatively associated with breast cancer. Conclusion: This study is rather in favour of positive association between hormonal factors and breast cancer, and confirms the protective role of multiparity and lactation.

Purpose:Many techniques have been described for the reconstruction of chronic lateral collateral ligament(LCL)rupture with different autograft *** advantages of percutaneous LCL reconstruction include small incisions,minimal soft tissue disruption,less postoperative pain,and speedy rehabilitation and *** aim of this study was to report the functional outcome of percutaneous LCL reconstruction and overall patient satisfaction in ***:This prospective and interventional study involving 51 patients with chronic LCL rupture who had percutaneous LCL reconstruction using peroneus longus autograft was conducted between January 2021 and December 2022 in National Orthopaedic Hospital,Dala-Kano,*** inclusion criteria were patients between the ages of 18 and 45 years with chronic isolated LCL and not more than 1 injury of knee *** criteria were active infection,and multi-ligament knee injury requiring 2-staged *** knee functions were assessed preoperatively,3 months,6 months,and 12 months postoperatively using the Lysholm scoring *** satisfaction with the outcome of the treatment was assessed using a 5-point Likert *** information was recorded into Microsoft Excel sheet and data was analyzed using SPSS version 23.0 for *** paired samples t-test was used to compare the clinical outcomes as continuous *** significance was considered at p<***:The mean age of the patients was(30.10±5.90)*** median time from injury to surgery was 7 months(ranging from 3 to 28 months).The mean follow-up period was(14.07±3.13)*** mean preoperative and 1-year postoperative Lysholm scores were 44.33±12.97 and 97.96±1.23,***:Percutaneous LCL reconstruction using peroneus longus autograft significantly improves patient knee function and results in excellent patient satisfaction。

Neonatal anthropometric data is an important reflection of the growth and fetal development. Objective: Knowing the anthropometric standards of Moroccan newborns according to sex, gestational age, parity, age and corpulence of women. Materials and Methods: Prospective and cross-sectional study. The information forward newborns alive, healthy, Moroccan parents, from normal pregnancies, born in Rabat Souissi’s maternity between January 2008 and December 2013, was gathered. Results: 5000 births were recruited. The ratio was balanced. Anthropometric standards identified according to gestational age and gender were lower than the Frenchs (AUDIPOG) and Tunisians. With our curves, we determined new thresholds for SGA and macrosomia. Factors influencing fetal growth, it was verified, in addition to sex and gestational age of the newborn, age, parity and maternal body mass index (BMI), that have proven determinants of fetal growth in our context. Conclusion: The curves of birth weight, height and head circumference of Moroccan newborns recruited have determined a new thresholds for hypotrophy and macrosomia.

Background: Pregnancy is typically accompanied by an increase of micronutrient requirements in general and especially iron. This increased need may be an additional risk factor for developing anemia. Purpose of the study: The aim of this study is to provide data on the prevalence of anemia of pregnancy in the maternity ward of the regional hospital in the city of Temara, and examine risk factors that may expose women to anemia during pregnancy. Materiel and Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study of a year was conducted to the hospital Sidi Lahcen in the city of Temara. Sociodemographic and nutritional data were collected through a questionnaire, obstetric and medical histories of women in labor and the results of biological tests were recorded from the patient obstetric file. Results: Among the 849 women surveyed, 690 (82%) had performed a blood count, and among these 117 (16.8%) were found anemic, with the following proportions: 57.6% had mild anemia, 41.5% had moderate anemia and a minority (0.8%) had severe anemia. The pregnant women aged over 35 years were the most exposed to anemia during pregnancy (47%) compared with younger women (p < 0.001). Women who had a history of anemia aside from pregnancy and those who had anemia in earlier pregnancies were more prone to developing anemia in the current pregnancy with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001). The number of pregnancies, number of previous abortions and place of residence had no influence on the occurrence of anemia of pregnancy. The consumption of fortified flour with iron and vitamins as well as consuming iron rich foods was not a protective factor against the development of anemia of pregnancy. Tea consumption near the meal was not a factor exposing to anemia during pregnancy. Conclusion: Anemia is a public health problem in Morocco. Evidence from our study emphasizes the need to implement educational programs to improve the nutritional knowledge and sensitization of women.

Background: The practice of exclusive breastfeeding (EB) in Morocco has witnessed a worrying decline in recent decades, contrary to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) which advocates it during the first six months as a significant public health tool. The present study aims to assess the impact of educational materials on mothers’ behaviour with regard to keeping up EB as long as six months, at least. Methods: This is a cohort study with a prospective collection of data over a period of one year, through a questionnaire-based survey of 500 women who delivered at the Souissi Maternity Hospital in Rabat. The subjects were divided into an intervention group sensitized, during the medical visit, by means of information delivered orally about breastfeeding and a booklet containing instructions on breastfeeding management and the benefits of EB, especially when extended for the first six months;and a control group attending the same operation with no awareness-rising through educational materials. To assess EB rates, the subjects had been followed for six months through telephone. Results: 372 women who delivered were followed, 194 from the intervention group and 178 from the control group. The remaining 128 women not followed were lost sight of. A higher percentage of mothers in the intervention group exclusively breastfed their babies up to the age of six months compared to the control group, 55.2% against 38.8% (p = 0.002). The main reason produced by most mothers who ceased to exclusively breastfeed their babies is milk insufficiency. Conclusion: The postnatal nutritional education strategy based on the distribution of educational materials has considerably raised the number of women who exclusively breastfed their babies until the age of six months.

马来半岛广泛发育的晚古生代‒早中生代岩浆作用完整地记录了古特提斯洋俯冲‒碰撞‒消亡的演化历史。该洋盆于中‒晚三叠世关闭,随之发生陆‒陆碰撞、地壳增厚以及造山带垮塌,区域上形成大规模的碰撞后火成岩,构成了东南亚古特提斯巨型火成岩带东部和中部花岗岩省的重要组成部分,但关于其岩石成因及构造背景仍然存在不同认识。因此,本文对马来半岛东部晚三叠世花岗岩开展了详细的岩相学、年代学以及地球化学研究,并结合区域地质资料综合探讨了晚三叠世岩浆作用的演化规律及深部动力学过程。研究表明马来半岛东部晚三叠世花岗岩可以分成两组:第一组为231~222 Ma,样品显示出较为富集的同位素特征((^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i=0.72040~0.72518,εNd(t)=−10.4~−6.7,εHf(t)=−11.5~+0.1),来自变火成岩和变杂砂岩的混合源区;第二组样品形成于218~216 Ma,对应的(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i=0.70576~0.71464,εNd(t)=−9.1~−3.9,εHf(t)=−3.9~+1.9,表明其源区存在一定新生地壳物质的参与,且Ga/Al、FeO^(T)/(FeO^(T)+MgO)值及锆石饱和温度相对较高,具有典型的A型花岗岩特征。年代学结果表明古特提斯东部和中部花岗岩省晚三叠世岩浆作用的峰期为220 Ma,且具有相似的元素‒同位素变化规律,证实古特提斯洋碰撞后造山垮塌主要发生于220 Ma,软流圈上涌促使中‒下地壳物质发生部分熔融从而形成了区域大规模的岩浆作用。

This study has isolated,characterized,and identified potential plant growthpromoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)with multiple PGP characteristics(N_(2)-fixation,P-and K-solubilization,IAA,and siderophores production)from the rhizosphere BRIS soil of Acacia mangium.A total of 24 pure colonies were isolated and only 8 colonies were selected for further evaluation of the growth rate in 5%organic molasses medium supplemented with 2%KNO_(3).Based on the biochemical,potential PGP characteristics and growth performance,3 superior PGPR strains were selected and identified as Paraburkholderia unamae(UA1),Bacillus amyloliquefaciens(UA6),and Enterobacter asburiae(UAA2)by partial sequencing of the 16S rRNA *** selected bacterial strains either in single or mixed(UA1+UA6+􀀁UAA2)cultures have shown a significant biochemical estimation of the PGP *** strain has its own PGPR traits superiority with UA1 showing the best PGP characteristic followed by UA6 and *** use of mixed bacterial strains was beneficial as it showed the best performance in N_(2)-fixation,siderophores production,and significant effect on corn phenology,growth and yield compared to using a single *** types of microbes showed potential to be used as biofertilizer and should be exploited more.

In this work,the efficiency of an adsorption process,in which Moroccan diatomite(ND)is used as a low-cost adsorbent to remove Congo red(CR)dye from contaminated waters in batch and column system,was *** influence of experimental conditions(pH,adsorbent dose and temperature)on the adsorption of CR onto the ND adsorbent was studied.A study of the adsorption kinetics for CR revealed that a pseudo-second-order model provided the best fit to the experimental kinetic data,and the equilibrium data were well described by the Langmuir isotherm model with an adsorption capacity of 6.07 mg/g using 15 g/L of ND,pH=6,contact time 3 h and 25℃.On the other hand,the ND regeneration tests were investigated and showed that the desorption reaches at least 50%when using ethanol as *** addition,the adsorption process in a continuous mode was *** curves were properly represented by the Yoon—Nelson ***,the adsorption capacity of 5.71 mg/g was reached using 0.114 g of adsorbent,CR concentration of 6 mg/L and a flow of 1 mL/min under 25℃.
