The structural,morphological,optical,and nonlinear optical properties of a lead sulfde(PbS) thin film grown by chemical bath deposition(CBD) are investigated by X-ray difraction(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis),and open aperture z-scan *** band gap energy of the PbS nanocrystalline film is 1.82 eV,higher than that of bulk PbS at 300 *** nonlinear absorption properties of the film are investigated using the open aperture z-scan technique at 1064 nm and pulse durations of 4 ns and 65 ***-dependent switching of the film from nonlinear absorption to saturable absorption is *** nonlinear absorption coefficient increases monotonically with increasing pulse duration from 65 ps to 4 ns.

AIM： To investigate the effects of gallbladder stones on motor functions of the gallbladder and the dynamics of bile flow in asymptomatic gallstone disease. METHODS： Quantitative hepatobiliary scintigraphy was performed to detect the parameters of gallbladder motor function [gallbladder ejection fraction （GBEF）, gallbladder visualization time （GBVT）, gallbladder time to peak activity （GBTmax）, gallbladder half emptying time （GBT1/2）, and transit time of bile to duodenum （TTBD）] in 24 patients with asymptomatic cholelithiasis who were diagnosed incidentally during routine abdominal ultrasonographic examination and 20 healthy subjects with normal gallbladder. RESULTS： Even though there was no significant difference in the clinical and laboratory parameters between the patient and control groups, all parameters of gallbladder function except TTBD were found to differ significantly between the two groups. GBEF in the patient group was decreased （P = 0.000） and GBVT, GBT GBT1/2 in the patient group were longer （P = 0.000, P = 0.015, P = 0.001, respectively）.there were not any clinical and laboratory findings, gallbladder filling and emptying could be impaired in patients with gallstone disease.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a term applied to describe depressive symptoms occurring during the first year of the postpartum period and is characterized by low mood, loss of enjoyment, reduced energy, and activity, marked functional impairment, reduced self-esteem, ideas or acts of self-harm or suicide. The women’s change into motherhood is a difficult period that involves significant changes in the psychological, social and physiological aspects, and is considered to increase vulnerability for the development of mental illness. In Somalia, 1 in 20 women aged 15 - 49 die due to pregnancy- or birth-related complications every year. This makes being pregnant in Somalia a risk that has its own stress and anxiety. Objective: To evaluate postpartum depression and associated factors among mothers who gave birth in the last 12 months in Mogadishu, Somalia. Methodology: The study is analytic cross sectional study design in which postpartum depression and its associated factors are measured. We used Cochran’s formula (z2p(1 – p)/d2). Results: One fifth of the study population was found to have postpartum depression and the factors relating to it included marital status, substance abuse, mode and place of delivery. Conclusion: This shows that neglected mental health of the mothers in Somalia has its burden on the society. Recommendation: Mental health care component should be integrated with maternal care programs available in the country to work on prevention and control of motherhood related stress and depression among mothers who are giving birth under the very difficult circumstances in the country.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, which is widely referred to as “COVID-19”, has been infecting more than 5.5 million over 144 countries. A vaccine is considered to be the most awaiting intervention and hundreds of global R&D institutions engaged in unprecedented speed to develop the vaccine. The availability of COVID-19 vaccines may not translate into its uptake. Although governments will provide the vaccines, their uptake is voluntary. Objective: This study was carried out to evaluate the level of acceptance of COVID-19 vaccine and it’s determinants among high risk groups for severe COVID-19 infection living in Mogadishu Somalia. Methods: The study was cross-sectional, descriptive analysis conducted to obtain reliable information about the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccine and it is determinants among high-risk groups living in Mogadishu, Somalia. The calculated sample size was 404 using Cochran’s formula = z2p(1 − p)/d2 and addition of 5% non-respondent rate. According to PESS population estimate in 2020, there are 17 districts. We grouped them into 2 strata and through simple random sampling one district was selected from each strata. After randomly selecting the two districts, three sub districts were randomly selected from each and then every second house (1, 3, 5) in the main roads will be selected. If target population were not found in the second selected house, the next house will be taken until sample size is obtained. Results: 59.4% of respondents were willing to accept and take vaccination while 40.6% of them were not accepting the vaccination. Morphological and Physico-Chemical Characteristics and Classification of Vertisol Developed on Deltaic Plain

The name of Vertisol is derived from Latin “vertere” meaning to invert. This case restricts development of soil horizons in profile. These soils have the capacity to swell and shrink, inducing cracks in the upper parts of the soil and distinctive soil structure throughout the soil. The formation of these specific features are caused by a heavy texture, a dominance of swelling clay in the fine fraction and marked changes in moisture content. The swell-shrink behavior is attributed to the wetting and drying of the soil mass. In this study, morphology, physico-chemical characteristics and classification of vertisols that were formed on alluvial delta plains, were investigated. Those soils formed on the Bafra Plain found in the K?z?l?rmak Delta and located in the central Black Sea region of Turkey. All studied Vertisols are characterised by a dark colour in surface soil, a heavy clayey texture, hardpan formation under top soil (high bulk density a high compaction) and very high COLE values. In addition, they have deep wide-opened desiccation cracks at the surface, slickensides at the middle part of the profiles and a poor differentiation of their horizons. Physico-chemically, the studied soils are slightly basic to very basic, non-saline and poor in organic matter, which is slightly higher in the surface horizon. In addition, cation exchange capacity, sum of exchangeable bases and base saturation of soils are very high. On the basis of morphological and physicochemical analysis, soil profiles were classified as Sodic Haplustert, Typic Calciaquert, Sodic Calciustert according to Soil Taxonomy (Soil Survey Staff, 1975 and 1999) and as Sodic Vertisol and Calcic Vertisol according to FAO/ISRIC (2006) classification systems.

We examined the rate of weight gain and absolute weight gain of underweight children (weight- for-age z score zole for deworming, immunization, and health and nutrition education. Multiple micronutrient powder (MNP) was provided only to Pushti packet and control children. The rate of weight gain on RUTF was 1.69 g/kg/day during the first month and gradually declined to 0.9 g/kg/day at the final month of the trial, whereas, the rate of weight gain on Pushti packet was 0.77 g/kg/day during the first month declining to 0.70 g/kg/day at the end of the trial. Rate of weight gain in the control group was steady between 0.47 - 0.50 g/kg/day. Absolute weight gains of 1085 g, 790 g and 730 g were observed in the RUTF, Pushti packet and the control groups, respectively which were significantly higher in the RUTF group. There was no statistically significant difference between the RUTF and Pushti packet groups in terms of rate of weight gain. Overall, weight gain was unsatisfactory for both supplementation groups. Better absolute weight gain was observed with RUTF supplementation compared to Pushti packet which prevented further deterioration in weight among the malnourished children.

地点:Red Sea、Gadaref以及Khartoum州的转诊医院和初级卫生保健(PHC)机构。目的:评价结核病诊疗服务分散化对结核病临床表现以及治疗结局的影响。设计:在苏丹选定三个地区,根据PHC机构和转诊医院病人的常规信息进行病例发现以及治疗结局的队列分析。结果:就诊于转诊医院的结核病人中有2/3得以确诊,而在PHC机构的就医者则只有1/3明确了结核病诊断。女性病例占PHC机构报告病例的46％,占转诊医院报告病例的37.9％(OR=1.398,95％可信区间:1.343-1.455)。高年龄组人群就医于PHC机构的可能性大于转诊医院。在转诊医院就医的病人中,38％治愈,29.3％完成疗程但未进行涂片检查,17.3％中断治疗;而在PHC机构的就医者,则有58％治愈,17.8％完成疗程但未进行涂片检查,11.6％中断治疗。结论:PHC机构为较高比例的女性以及年老结核病人提供了医疗服务,这提示女性以及年老结核病人对PHC机构有较高的利用率。PHC机构有较高的治愈率和较低的治疗中断率,这可能反映出其具有良好的直接督导治疗以及随访条件。

BACKGROUND: The effect of increased oxidative stress on the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) is well known. One of the antioxidative systems against oxidative stress in human body is paraoxonase(PON) enzyme that protects low density lipoproteins(LDL) against oxidation. This study aimed to explore the polymorphisms on PON1, Q192 R, L55 M genes of patients with ***: DNAs extraction was obtained from blood samples of 50 patients diagnosed with COPD and 50 patients as a control group who were presented to emergency clinic. Genotypes were obtained with polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and AIw I and Hsp92 II restriction enzymes were used for Q192 R and L55 M polymorphisms, respectively. Analysis of data was done with the Chi-square test and Fisher's exact ***: A statistically significant difference in Q192 R polymorphism was found between the COPD patients and the control group(P=0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in L55 M polymorphisms between the patient and control groups(P>0.05). Q192 R polymorphism was significantly correlated with the PON1 gene and cigarette smoking; however other risk factors did not show any significant correlation with this polymorphism. Though L55 M polymorphism was significantly correlated with family history and tuberculosis, there was no significant correlation with other risk ***: We believe that more studies are needed to study the correlation of L55 M polymorphism with other factors.
